Exceptionnelle, aérée, vaste, la maison est située sur un terrain boisé privé et calme, à quelques pas de la plage commune du lac Michigan. Trois niveaux spacieux réunissent le meilleur des loisirs et des loisirs avec des jeux intérieurs et des activités de plein air. Great place near Lake Michigan

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving break with family at this nice house near Lake Michigan. We loved using the fireplace in the living room while playing board games and watching football all weekend.

Family Gathering

We stayed at Nick and Donna’s for an extended weekend with all of our siblings and spouses, 12 people in all. The house had plenty of space for a large group. It was very inviting and comfortable as well as spotless. We had every single thing we needed and so much more!! We loved the great room for meals and gathering. We could all comfortably be in the same space. The basement was awesome for playing games which we enjoy, again so comfortable and spacious. It also offered plenty of privacy with all the different bedrooms and bathrooms. Location was fantastic! We went for morning walks along Lake Michigan and found lots to do in Muskegon, Holland, Saugatuck, and Douglas, all just a short drive away. Nick made sure we had an easy check in/check out and had everything we needed in between. We would highly recommend this property!!

Loved our stay!

We had three generations, a total of 13 family members, and there was ample room for everyone! So many spaces to gather together or find a quiet spot! The back deck, hot tub and outdoor shower were favorite spots, as was the basement family room for playing pool, watching movies and playing card games with the kids. The front porch was the best napping spot with the Lake Michigan waves as a lulling backdrop. The upstairs family room was the morning spot for early risers to have coffee and watch morning news, and evening tv for those not in the basement. The living room did get used also, but wasn’t as comfortable as some of the other options, for me at least. The kitchen is well stocked, and we found more pantry space than I expected, though counter space was skimpy, but we managed. The house was well stocked in general, and communication with the owner, Nick, was fantastic! We hated to leave, but are happy knowing we will be returning to this house next year! Love the location just a block off the lake with handy sunsets!

Fabulous family vacation house

Our family of 9, our children and grandchildren came together from various points of the country. The location was perfect to either drive or fly into. We loved all the activities that were so close to the house, from Dune Buggy rides to brewery visits there was something for everyone. We especially loved the three levels at the house. It was fun for the 9 of us to gather on the large sectional to watch Jeopardy! Our hosts were fantastic, promptly responding to all questions within minutes. And the house was not only beautifully appointed, but it was spotless.it was in a perfect location to watch sunsets and go for walks along the road overlooking the Lake Michigan shore. I would highly recommend this rental.

Beautiful convienant location

Everything about the house was great! It was pretty and clean and in a beautiful location that was fairly close to town. The owners were thorough and communicated well so it was easy check in and check out. Stayed there with friends for a wedding weekend and we enjoyed being able to use the hot tub and the game room in the basement. It was too rainy for the firepit but maybe next time!

We enjoyed staying in this clean and perfect for 8 adults house. Hot tub was hot and clean, all that we needed for amenities were there and owners were in great communication and wonderful to work with!

We loved our stay at Nick's home, it was a peaceful retreat in the woods with a short walk to private beach access. Everything was clean and as described! Nick was friendly and extremely communicative. We will definitely return!

Family Fun Days

Wonderful house in a great location. Good stretch of sand on the neighborhood private beach gave us the lake to ourselves most of the days. The house fit our needs as per listed. The kids had a place to play at night before bedtime as well as a nice sitting area for the adults for when the kids were sleeping. The host, Nick, was very responsive prior to our visit answering our questions and checked in on us after check-in to ensure everything was just right. Highly recommend the house.

Saugatuck Retreat

This spacious property was perfect for our extended family's vacation. Close proximity to Lake Michigan, it's nice hot tub. outdoor fire pit and lots of games made for a very fun time for 4 generations of family members.

Great for families

We all had a great time. There was space to spread out and space to be together. A short 10-15 minute walk to the beach, with a 3 and 4 year old. The house was well stocked with all the essentials. Nick responded quickly to any question. This is a great place for a family vacation.

Lovely stay

The house was perfect for our needs. Twelve women who wanted to get away. Close to Saugatuck and Douglas with great shopping and restaurants. We're able to see a beautiful sunset. Enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace. Nick was very responsive to every little question we had. Would definitley stay there again.

Beautiful

Our annual family gathering is something looked forward to each year, but this year we chose Saugatuck on the shore of Lake Michigan. None better. The property was located just perfectly off the lake in a quiet and beautiful location. The breezes. The sunsets. The home. All lovely. We are so grateful to have the chance to gather at this delightful place. Our very favorite spots were the upstairs family room and front porches. Also * winner of the BEST firepit and rear yard area ! Big and peaceful. Hammock swinging in the late afternoon. Deer frequently sauntering through the adjoining woody area. And the lake! Did I mention Lake Michigan...?? Heavenly.

Family Getaway

Perfect house for a family getaway. Very clean, six bedrooms, fun game room. Not far from the beach and downtown Douglas and Saugatuck. Our host was very accommodating and was quick to answer any questions. Will definitely come back!!!

First Family Vacation

We were looking for a house for a family vacation, lots of us, on my husbands side and found this beautiful house. It was the perfect spot and location , near the water (amazing sunsets) and the cool town of Saugatuck/Douglas. Nick was a wonderful host and made sure to let us know if we needed anything that we could contact him anytime. He was very friendly and easy to work with. If you ever get the chance to stay at one of their properties we would all highly recommend it.

This was our 2nd visit to this beautiful house. Perfect for our family of four generations. Location is perfect - access to the beach, but quiet in a beautiful residential neighborhood...Owner, Nick, also a plus - very accessible and keeps the home in great shape

Great Place!

We loved the house. The layout is great and very family reunion friendly! Having the game area in the basement is a real treat. Of course you can’t beat the sunsets on the lake. We utilized the fire pit and the grill multiple times.

Wonderful Stay!!

We planned a family getaway to Saugatuk and this was the perfect house! The windows were large, the space accommodating, the owner very easy to communicate with. The entire property has about 6 bedrooms and has plenty of entertainment for both indoor and outdoor activities. We loved the ping pong table and pool table in the basement, and the hot tub was a great way to relax in the beautiful November foliage. The hot tub was a little finicky, but Nick was very helpful in helping us get the temperature up. Overall, would highly recommend and will absolutely stay again!

Even better than we had thought

Coming from the DC area and with this being our first trip to Western Michigan, we really had a limited idea of what we were getting our extended family of 12 into. Online, the house looked nice and reviews were good, with the things that attracting us being that each family pod could have their own full bathroom, it seemed to be in a quiet spot, and had a bunch of indoor activities (pool, ping pong, air hockey) that the kids could take advantage of if the weather was bad. So, we were optimistic, but really had no clue what to expect. Well, we knew right when we arrived that this home would be perfect for us. Spectacularly clean, great use of space for a large group to fit into, and in a very quiet area (dead end of a road) yet within 5-10 minutes of everything you need (shopping, restaurants, beach, hikes, sunset/lake views, etc). One thing we were surprised about was when we were asked not to wear shoes in the house - never had come across that before on a VRBO - but I recommend everyone adhere to that request for your own sake! The soil in this area is sand, so taking shoes off as recommended kept the house clean and not sandy. Nick (the owner) was very helpful and on top of communication, so everything was great there as well. So , basically, we highly recommend the house and if we head back to Western Michigan, we would rent it again without question.

We bought our Saugatuck property- 'Shorewood'- because of it's tranquil and wooded locale near Lake Michigan. We built and designed our 'Shorewood' house in such a way that would comfortably accommodate large family gatherings. 'Shorewood' which sits near the beach and towns of Saugatuck and Douglas, represents to us the best that the area has to offer.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We bought this beautiful Saugatuck property because of it's perfect combination of tranquility when trying to get away from the stresses of everyday life, while still being able to be active in both athletics and cultural activities. Saugatuck has a very urbane charm to it, without the noise and the crowds of a major metro area. Our property is located in the most tranquil spot, near the sugar sand Lake Michigan shoreline. We built a house that we felt that not only our family could enjoy year round, but also, would be an ideal space for extended family or other large families or groups who could gather comfortably. Our house is in a private enclave, that has the Lake in the front end, and the peaceful woods in the back. Saugatuck constantly surprises us with it's diversity; ranging from the magnificent sunsets over Lake Michigan (right out our front door!), to the sugar sand beaches; to the Art Barn where our children, on a rainy day, can get make their own artwork...and it does not end there!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The beach! The sugar sand that squeaks when you walk on it. The dunes at the beach. The amazingly clean and beautiful, warm, Lake Michigan water during the summer. The sunsets! The summer! The Fall, when the leaves change and you can go apple picking! The endless running on beach/roads and/or the endless biking on roads...right out the front door. The safety and quiet of living on a private road in a private enclave with no traffic or noise. The short bike or drive to downtown Saugatuck or Douglas for food, culture, shopping, antiquing, or just strolling. The locale of house with fire pit, hot tub (and outdoor shower), and wildlife surrounding property. The airy and open layout, that our 4000 square foot home offers families and groups on trips.
