Plenty of room. Every night after dinner we had ice cream in the "ice cream parlor" and then watch a family friendly movie in the theater. Perfect way to end the day.
Easily one of the best properties we have stayed at (do this get together annually) and hosts that were extremely responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Five stars all the way.
We had a delightful time at our family reunion. Rebecca was an exceptional host; her warmth and hospitality were evident in every detail. She was not only considerate and attentive but also quick to answer any questions, ensuring that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. The sprawling kitchen and inviting living room provided ample space for our entire family to come together. It was a joy to see everyone gathered, sharing stories and laughter. The pool and pickleball court kept the younger ones engaged and full of energy. At the same time, the older generations relished quiet conversations in the cozy living room surrounded by comfortable seating and the soothing ambiance of the home. The location was perfect; we felt wonderfully secluded amidst nature, yet we were just a short drive away from charming shops, delicious restaurants, and local attractions. This beautiful home was truly a treasure! Thank you for sharing your lovely space with us; it created cherished memories that we will hold dear for years to come.
Our family of 19 including 10 adults and 9 kids absolutely loved everything about this property the space, kitchen, patios, pool, slide, jacuzzi, ping pong, foosball, sport court, theater, tire swing, hammock and the close proximity to the beach, parks, Legoland and restaurants!
We all enjoyed our stay immensely~ from the perfect bedrooms for everyone to the delightful swimming pool and slide!
Our hostess, Rebecca, couldn't have been more attentive throughout our stay.
This is a great home for a large group! It has everything you'll need for a good time! The kitchen is very large and is well stocked with cookware. And there is real wood burning pizza oven next to the BBQ! From the pub style bar/game room that opens to the pool area to the movie theater, which was a big hit, you can literally never leave the home and have a great time.
We would definitely stay there again.
We recently booked this VRBO property for our company retreat, and it surpassed all expectations. The spacious and well-equipped accommodations provided plenty of room for our team to work and relax. The host's attention to detail and hospitality made our stay truly exceptional. Overall, we highly recommend this property for anyone seeking a perfect venue for their next retreat or gathering.
Rebecca and her husband have a wonderful home that they graciously opened up to my group. We had zero issues and were able to focus on the task at hand. Relaxation.
Rebecca's quick communication and helpful input was very much appreeciated.
10/10 would recommend
The property was as advertised as it relates to the beautiful home and fun amenities (sport court, theatre room, etc.); however, the listing did not mention that the owners would be staying in the caretaker's house during our stay. While we were enjoying the sport court, the owners frequently drove by making our group feel as though we were being watched throughout our stay. Although the owners did say they were going to be onsite during our stay and offered a full-refund, they didn't mention this caveat until I was onsite at the beginning of our stay while the rest of my group was in transit (a few from out-of-state). I had no other option but to acquiesce to this environment because it would have been extremely difficult to locate, book, and alter plans for my group the same day.
I would like to reiterate that the house is indeed beautiful; however, we were disappointed that we didn't receive advance notice that people outside our party would be on the premises.
Every couple of years we have a family gathering. This year we needed space for 5 families with a headcount of 15 ranging in age from 1yr to 82yrs. Rancho Del Fresco was perfect! All rooms having full bathrooms, a large living room where all could meet comfortably, a fully equipped kitchen, a gas bbq and wood burning pizza oven, and, activities both in and outdoors met all of our desires. The estate is well furnished including games, books, and sports equipment. We tend to be competitive and found the pickle ball, basketball, swimming pool, and ping pong perfect for events. Movies in the theater room were a treat as we unwound from busy days. Our stay was for 7 days which allowed time to enjoy activities away from the house, e.g., beach, zoo, and, just walking the waterfront and shopping the unique stores. Guess the most important question is whether we would consider Rancho Del Fresco for another gathering. The answer from all 15 is a definite YES! Thanks to the owners for providing their house for our totally successful time together.
What an incredible property for our family reunion, best decision ever to stay here! We had 12 Adults and 3 children/1 infant for most of our stay, and then 2 Adults/3 teens who visited us for 1 night. Everyone had a bed and bathroom in the rooms they stayed in - this was a HUGE factor for a group of our size! We absolutely loved our mornings together sitting on the large family room couch that could seat us all! Days were spent in the pool and hottub area, which was truly a spectacular and peaceful setting. Fun for the whole family was found on the pickleball court, with breaks to eat fresh oranges off the fruit trees on the property!! The owners were extremely attentive and responsive to our questions and any needs we had. Highly recommend catering in Red Oven Pizza recommended by the ownerrs, they will bring their own pizza oven and set up in the courtyard - we also ordered their feta watermelon salad and everyone thoroughly enjoyed that night under the twinkle lights of the courtyard. (One recommendation we have is to have a couple heater lamps in the courtyard to take off the chill, as it can cool down when the sun starts to go down) Watching the Masters in the Theatre room was an event for our whole family! Cannot thank the owners enough for making this wonderful home available to us!
Nice property but would have liked some more information
We had a lot of fun on the trip. 16 adults and 4 kids is not an easy find for us, and with such an active group of people, this house in Rancho Santa Fe looked perfect.
The house was lovely. Plenty of places to sit and hang out with enough room to get away from the group to read a book or go for a nice walk. But there were some things that I wish were explained to us beforehand.
There was dirty laundry in the washing machine when we arrived, the pool was not working, the movie theater has a very musty odor, the fans in the bedrooms were covered in dust, and the tennis court is more like a pickle ball court.
These werenât dealbreakers, but felt like oversights that werent deliberately explained. When having to pay in full nearly 2 months in advance, you expect a certain quality assurance when arriving.
We did have a great time at the house, but when paying a high premium for a stay, it doesnât feel great when the amenities donât feel as advertised.
Beautiful property with plenty of space for larger groups. We had 10 couples (late-twenties to mid-thirties) and every couple had their own room and only 2 couples had to share a bathroom. Everyone loved the sport court, yard, pool with jacuzzi and water slide, game room, kitchen, and living areas. The property is well-maintained and you can tell the owners still enjoys time there and do not solely operate the property as a rental. This is a pro in that the house is well-stocked and very comfortable. The artwork is incredible and all the furniture is high quality. The beds and linens are especially luxurious.
However, all of the bedroom closets, the garage, and several other storage areas are locked off because they contain personal belongings, so you have to use the portable clothes racks they supply in each room and cannot put your luggage away. Also, we didn't really mind, but some of the decor and family photos throughout the house were a bit unusual for a VRBO.
The owner, Rebecca, was very warm and welcoming, and greeted us shortly after check-in. She was responsive and accommodated our early check-in (no additional charge) and late checkout requests ($200 for noon checkout). Note, she warned us not to make noise outdoors after 9 PM, and she did show up to enforce this rule and the cops were called on us at 9:50 PM.
There were some areas missed by the clean-up crew and some furniture seemed out of place when we arrived, but overall, we were happy with our stay.
An Exceptional VRBO for a Multi-Generational Family Vacation. It truly exceeded all expectations for our family of 20, ranging from teenagers to grandmother. Check-in was easy and there was ample parking for five cars.
This property is beautiful and spacious, ideally located for visiting beaches and San Diego attractions. Our family especially enjoyed the privacy of accommodations as well as the large areas for family gatherings and meals. Our daughterâs comment as we were departing the property was âI want to return here next yearâ.
Rancho del Fresco is wonderful in every way âŠ
From Rebeccaâs warm, kind and generous hospitality, to the gorgeous property with its incredible amenities, our family of 24 (from our brand-new infant grand nephew to our ninety-year-old matriarch) enjoyed every minute of our family gathering over this past Labor Day weekend. We had plenty of space to gather together or spread out and do our own things (oh, and what lovely spaces âŠ); Rebeccaâs recommendation of a private chef was spot-on; everyone had a real comfy bed; so much was provided for and with such thoughtfulness --bed and bath linens; powerful laundry resources; well-stocked kitchen supplies; etc. We could go on and on âŠ, but we will just say we felt so sad leaving.
Our warmest thanks to Rebecca and family for sharing their magnificent home with guests so that we and others could create such sweet memories with our own family too!
We selected this property for our family reunion and turned out to be an excellent choice. We hosted 20 family members and everyone enjoyed the home (including those who had to work from home). The property was located in the hills which was relaxing yet close enough to the beaches, shopping, and other attractions in San Diego. The large rooms and patios provided ample space for family activities. I believe everyone had an enjoyable time. The owners were very helpful in making the arrangements answering all of our questions.
A great family vacation was enjoyed by all of us!
We had pickle ball tournaments, pool days, a beach day, a SD zoo day, a Del Mar race day, and game nights.!! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Our family of 20 stayed at this grand, spacious home for our triannual family reunion. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, the grounds were beautiful, the pool cool and very much appreciated in the heat. Our main concern was the lack of cleanliness of the home. There was built-up grease all over the stove, cobwebs throughout the windows, a shower curtain covered in mold on the bottom quarter, dirty dishes and silverware among other things. We had to clean before we used items, and wipe everything down. This was disappointing as the cleaning fee for this property is very high, so we would expect a much cleaner home. Also, all of the smoke detectors had their batteries removed, which poses a potential fire hazard. We tried to address these issues with the owner early into our stay but were told getting someone to come in and do some cleaning was not available. Not wanting to let the lack of cleanliness ruin our trip, we cleaned what we could and otherwise really enjoyed our stay.
