I bought my home in 2000. I was looking for something in the country, but not too far off from things with some space where I could start my organic log grown shiitake mushroom and culinary herb farm. The house had been in the owner's family for three generations and I became close to the owner's granddaughter who is now 97. I feel honored to be its steward now. It used to be an apple orchard; I know where the old apple packing shed was, as well as the outhouse and garage for the Model T. I started peeling off layers of astroturf, drop ceiling tiles and linoleum when I bought the house and am still enjoying working on it now. I love my neighbors and the town.
I fell in love with the special setting of my house and property. Rolling terrain, a farm house nestled into the side of the hill with rock outcroppings and views of trees or nature from every window.
