Wonderful Stay

Loved our month long visit. Walked to the beach every morning and into town for dinner most nights. The house was perfect for us and the fenced yard was great for our dog. Will definitely stay again.

Peaceful retreat

This was my second extended stay at Dove Cottage. The size, decor, and location are perfect for me and Percy (canine). The property manager is available, if needed, and glad to assist.

Spring in Carmel

What a wonderful cottage in one of our favorite towns. Super well equipped, quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short because of the coronavirus and return to Michigan. Look forward to spending time in Dove Cottage next year.

Spring in Carmel

Thoroughly enjoyed Dove Cottage. Very comfortable beds and well appointed and supplied kitchen. We were able to enjoy lunch on the deck many days and, otherwise, were very comfortable at kitchen table. Although on a busier street, front patio with fire pit and fenced area were extremely enjoyable and peaceful.

Nice 2 bedroom cottage. Very clean and well kept. Nice backyard for bbq. Around 12 minute walk to downtown. A little busy on Carpenter Street but not too bad.

Charming Cottage

Dove Cottage was a charming, welcoming and cutely decorated beach-themed home. Fastidiously clean upon our arrival. Well stocked kitchen with dishware/glassware, pots/pans and appliances. Comfortable beds. Large primary bathroom. Private, quiet, convenient location. Owners have thought of everything to ensure a comfortable stay. We very much enjoyed our month-long stay,

We have stayed at this place before and it is a great place. We only have a few suggestions. It desperately needs a new bedroom bed, preferably a king size bed. It’s unbearably uncomfortable. Also, we stayed here five years ago and they had a fire pit in the front courtyard, which made every evening very fun, but they got rid of it so that would really was a disappointment. They need a full length mirror somewhere on the property as well. Other than that, everything was great.

Thank you for being a valued returning guest and a 10 out 10 rating . We replaced the bed 6 months ago and provided a high quality Queen size bed for a comfortable night sleep for all our guest. We have the warm ambiance of a fireplace inside the cottage for guest enjoyment . LOVE THIS COTTAGE!

This is a terrific property. Charming cottage with all the necessary conveniences to make your stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property. My only criticism, and it's one I've often had in places we've stayed, the sofas in the living room weren't terribly comfortable. I think they're worn down from use. Fortunately, everything else was perfect.

A Perfect Home Away from Home

We love to escape Phoenix for a bit in the summer. A month in Carmel was like heaven. Cool weather. Beach nearby. Fabulous restaurants (all outside and dog-friendly for us.) We also enjoyed grilling on the deck. The cottage is so comfortable, the bed is great, as is the shower. And the fenced-in back yard was just perfect for our dog. The front courtyard is also fenced in and private. My favorite thing was the morning fog in the trees. Just gorgeous. We have one suggestion: get a shade of some kind for the window by the kitchen table. The sun can be pretty intense in late afternoon for a few hours.

Lovely cottage, walking distance from downtown

I loved my stay at Dove Cottage! This is the second time I've stayed there, and it did not disappoint. The cottage is well equipped with everything I needed, and is walking distance to town. It's very quiet at night, and convenient to hiking, shopping and dining. I plan to return next year!

Great place!

My wife and I spent a month at Dove cottage. We love Carmel and the house was a cute little cottage. Extremely clean and the property manager was very good and helpful. I can’t say anything bad about the cottage except for the fact that it’s pretty far from the beach if you’re not able to walk.

Dove Cottage Getaway

I loved every minute of my stay at Dove Cottage. I needed a change of scenary from my "zoom cave" in Berkeley and this was just the answer! I spent the month of October working from the cottage and exploring in the evening and on the weekends. The cottage was very well stocked with everything I needed for a month away, and I thoroughly enoyed the location and proximity to hiking, beach walks and shops / restaurants. I will definitely return in the future and look forward to many more stays! The only thing that was not perfect was the dishwasher - it didn't thoroughly clean so I ended up washing the dishes by hand - very minor when taking everything else into consideration. Loved my stay and will definitely return! Thank you!

Great getaway!

This place was great! I stayed for a month in June. To get out of SF and quarantine closer to my family (but not with them 😉). The outdoor space was so peaceful & spacious. Very private, yet still a neighborhood feel. Easy walk to town and the beach. But removed from all the tourists. The house had everything I needed. And was very clean. The only thing I would wish for, is that there were more windows with screens. Because it’s lovely to have the fresh air, but you don’t want to let bugs or spiders in.

Very nice and cozy

Dove Cottage is located in an ideal area of Carmel. Walking distance to downtown, restaurants and the beach. Thank you Debra (Property Manager) for all your help! Highly recommend. We will return!

Nice relaxing place in Carmel-by-the-Sea

Thanks for a great stay. The only issue we had was when we arrived at 9pm it was hard to find in the darkness and the person we were communicating with never responded after one message asking us when we were arriving . The next morning the agent managing the property contacted us by text but after apologizing for the dirty BBQ we never heard from her again and never heard from her even after we sent her a text to tell her we had left. Upon our arrival, we did find that the BBQ was left quite dirty and was smoking because the base was covered in meat drippings. We cleaned it. Other than that everything was clean. They only have 6 plates and 6 large mugs that were also to be your bowls. So it’s not that well equipped but it worked. And it is a quite cute place about 1.3 miles walk from the beach. It has a cute backyard and front yard. The laundry is good and nice to have, but it is high and top loading so it’s hard to get your stuff out so I am surprised it isn’t front loading, given that it is raised intentionally to keep off the floor. We felt lucky to find a place for 2 weeks given that most places in Carmel require a 30 day lease. So from that stand point it worked for us. I would have liked to be closer to the beach but it was a gorgeous walk and close to the town and to Monterey and the town of Carmel by car.
