A lovely village to stay for our holiday with all you need and with activities to do no far away by car. Freinet had an artâs festival going on while we were there, which was really great.
In the heart of La Garde-Freinet, this rustic accommodation had a beautiful patio with so much lush greenery. The cold plunge pool was perfect for the roasting hot days we experienced in late July. We loved seeing all the exposed beams, fieldstone, and craftsmanship dating back centuries.
We loved our stay in this beautiful, creative, authentic house in the lovely village of La Garde Freinet. An amazing location very close to the village centre for everything you need but far enough away for peace and quiet. Pascale, was the perfect host and made sure we had everything we needed. We'll be back!
The pool was inaccessible as no steps. This was a major attraction for our original choice. Despite telling owner - no steps, so the hoped for cooling dip after hot days did not happen. The bathroom facility is inadequate. It would be difficult to accommodate more than two people as the toilet is part of the main bedroom. No entertainment facility via TV for English speakers. A bedroom floor of chipboard without any covering did not impress. There is a difference between rustic and comfort. Sadly we certainly did not consider it value for money compared to other properties in which we have stayed.
A trĂšs bientĂŽt
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Pascaleâs beautiful holiday home in La Garde Freinet. Check in was easy despite complications on our end, and we loved the outside terrace and pool that allowed us to cool down after a day of hiking. The location was perfect as well, just a few steps away from shops and restaurants. The only thing no note for potential tenants is that being an old house there are no doors between the individual rooms, and we only counted two bedrooms rather than three (one bed functions as a sofa in the living room, and there was a small room used as an office). This was not a problem for us as we were a family with a similar routine but should be mentioned.
We had a wonderful stay in this house in the middle of the old village, very nice and comfortable rooms with a lot of character, nice pool for our kids, a rooftop to sleep on, very nice terrace. The communication with Pascale was great and we hope to be back. It is of course a drive away from the coast but it is also a welcome relief from the hussle down at the beaches.
