Beautiful property. House overlooks a large grassy backyard with trees and lovely views of the lake. There is a spot in the shade about halfway down to the water with a table and chairs, perfect for breakfast and coffee or sunset views. Also, used the screened in patio right off the kitchen all day long. Kitchen has a long high top table for the whole family to eat dinner together. The living room couch was comfy and pretty large. There was also a tv with Apple TV. The rooms were clean and simple with clean sheets and towels available. The bunk room was great for the kids. There were two fridges to store food and drinks. Favorite overall was the lakefront. Large sandy beach area with steps into the water. Firepit to enjoy sâmores. Tons of Adirondack chairs and a few loungers to hang out in the sun all day and large sun umbrellas available too. The sunsets on the lake were amazing! Great weekend with the whole family.
Our family stay was great. The location on the private side was perfect. We were able to kayak, paddle board and fish with very little traffic in the cove.
Great, clean home on a beautiful piece of land with everything you would need. Would definitely recommend for a family of 12 who wants to relax and enjoy lake lifeâŠ
Enjoyed our stay..Tom the neighbor was great and the property and location is awesome...it was tough to find a boat so jump on that early if you rent here....boatsetter.com is also a great app to use
The property was beautiful and spacious. The owners were easy to communicate with and very responsive. Our school aged kids really enjoyed fishing on the beach and playing kickball in the spacious yard. Wonderful nearby getaway for a week!
This beautiful home was the perfect place for our 3 families with children to come enjoy the lake and time with each other. The dock was perfect for the boat we rented and the sandy area was HUGE and perfect for the kids! The kitchen was large enough for all the kids and adults to eat meals together. We will absolutely be booking again in the future! If you are on the fence, take my advice and book now!
We all loved the house and the property. It had everything there we needed. We loved the beach and the steps to the lake. All agreed it was better than a week at the beach and that is saying a lot because we are beach people.
We will be back
Kids loved this location because of the sand and shallow warm water. We loved it because of the sunsets, firepit, setup of chairs , umbrellas etc... Great house. Lots of stuff.
I'd go back.
The property was just breath taking. The setup was inviting and very well manicured. The house fit us well. We utilized the space and didnât feel crowed.
Fantastic water-front property with great beach and views of sunset on the water
The house was fantastic! The beach and lake access is obviously what stands out most, but the house is really great with an open layout, comfortable rooms, nice deck, and a garage full of toys for the water and lawn. Watching the sunset out over the water was perhaps the highlight of the weekend, but every aspect of this property was so much fun. We had a great time and hope to go back!
We had a wonderful week at the lake. The house was perfect for what we needed. The property is stunning and we spent a lot of time on the beach relaxing and swimming during the day and building fires at night. The yard was perfect for playing games. It was very quiet, which was lovely, and the neighbors were wonderful with fishing advice and any other questions we had about the area.
Great property for families. The beach area was the highlight - it was amazing. Everything you needed for the lake activities was there. The outdoor shower was great to have. The house was very quiet allowing the kids to sleep and the adults to play board games after hours. Owners were very responsive!
Overall my family and I loved staying at this house. The outdoor area, most specifically the beach on the lake, is gorgeous and a fantastic place to relax and unwind. I would recommend clarifying with property owners prior to arrival what is and isn't stocked in the house. For example, the listing told us to bring pillows, but didn't say anything about shampoo. However upon arrival, all of the beds did have pillows, but there was no soap or shampoo in any of the showers. The manager of the property was very friendly- met with us the first day to make sure we had no questions and to go over check out procedures.
Perfect sized home for our family. The large grassy yard was great for the kids to run, kick around the soccer balls, and toss a frisbee. The firepit on the beach was used nightly as we each had a comfy seat in the colorful Adirondack chairs & we really appreciated the daily re-load of firewood by the friendly neighbor. We grilled on the deck, we grilled on the beach, we kayaked and canoed daily! The sand on the beach with the sandy toys were a welcome surprise for out grandson. The bedrooms were great and we all slept great! One thing to be aware of is that the location is remote and the internet is slow. Plan to keep your phones in the house and enjoy the outdoors. We hope to visit again sometime soon!
We spent a wonderful family Thanksgiving here - eight people in three generations. The house was perfect for us, and is even better than the photos. We were able to have fires on the beach with s'mores, paddle kayaks on the lake, have sing-a-longs on the screened-in porch, and a full Thanksgiving meal cooked in the fairly well-equipped kitchen. Our 11 yr-old even went for a swim - Brrr! The Lake Anna State Park (35min drive) was ideal for hiking. Our host was easily available through VRBO. The water is well water and tasted funny to the children, so we bought bottled water. The closest store is a Dollar General with just the basics. Read the instructions to know what to bring with you. We'd love to go back to Lady of the Lake!!
Great 50th Anniversary Family Time for Building Special Memories
We really enjoyed our stay at Lady of the Lake, a truly beautiful place to make special memories with our 3 daughters, husbands and grandchildren! Celebrating our 50th anniversary, we wanted a place for all ages to enjoy, and this lakefront home was perfect! From age 6 to 76, there was something fun to do! We played beach volleyball, badminton, played and swam for hours in the water, took excursions around the lake in the rowboat, canoe and 2 person kayak they provided. Eating out on the deck for some breakfasts and dinners was a real treat for us all. Sitting out on the screened in porch in the early morning and again at night over conversation and coffee was a special memory! Renting a pontoon boat for half a day was an extra special wonderful way to see the beauty of Lake Anna, that our daughters gave us as a special gift! The grandchildren fished off the dock, returning each precious catch to the water, but so thrilled with their catch! The fire pit on the beach, watching the sunset over the lake, and making smores at night was an extra special time each night. Thank you to Greg and Penny Bane, for being so attentive to any need that came up, for we had a vacation we will long remember!
The property and the beach was perfect as expected but the house itself was even better then we thought it would be. The pictures do not do the house justice! The kitchen was filled with many extra appliances and more then enough cooking utensils, pots, Tupperware, plates, glasses, etc. The beds were comfy and clean sheets were waiting for each bed. The screened porch was a great addition - perfect for early mornings or thunderstorms. The garage was stocked with beach toys, floats, sports balls, etc - unfortunately we couldnât take advantage of all of it because of the heat. The beach and dock was great! The seating set up and umbrellas were comfy, the fire pit was right on the beach by the chairs and there was lots of firewood! There was 2 kayaks, a small boat we took out to fish with, a couple canoes and a paddle board too!! Many of the previous reviews mentioned a neighbor which we met and he helped us launch a jet ski, came by to clean off the steps into the water - a very nice and helpful couple!! Brenda, the homeowner, was extremely attentive to any questions we had.
We rented a boat from Pleasants Landing for 2 days and the kids went tubing - they loved it!! The Marina was 6 mins away and was located on the public side of the lake. If you
want to keep the boat docked at the house, then it must stay on the private side and needs to be done in advance especially in the summer months. I donât think you could go wrong either way. Both sides of the lake is beautiful and big!
Our whole party of 10 had a great time and loved everything about the house - we had nothing negative to comment!!
This house and property is perfect! We rented one week in July. 2021.
On a quiet cove with a beautiful shady big grassy backyard leading to a very large private beach on the private side of Lake Anna. Several Adirondack chairs shaded by umbrellas surround the beach fire pit facing the lake, at a beautiful sunset. A private dock, perfect for launching your boat or one of several provided kayaks, also perfect for fishing. The beach leads to the very shallow lake front (2-3 feet deep) just fine for small children or floating around. Fires as the sun set were so much fun, firewood provided! Plus a charcoal grill at the beach.
The house is beautiful with a complete and fully equipped kitchen (2nd refrigerator in the garage) and it includes a dishwasher. Every appliance and utensil is available. The vaulted ceiling family room looks out on the lake through two storied windows.
The kitchen dining table seats eight. Thereâs a gas fired bbq grill and gas fired griddle on the open deck
The five bedrooms include a main bedroom suite, with king sized bed, on the first floor; with 4 bedrooms upstairs: 3 containing queen sized beds, and one with two twin beds. In addition there are inflatable mattresses and (of course) electric pumps. The living room sofa opens to a queen sized bed.
Two full bathrooms downstairs, one upstairs. Thereâs an outdoor shower as well!
Lots of games, beach toys, life jackets, etc. Bring a few extra floating rings, like we did.
TV sets in the family room and main bedroom have cable TV and streaming devices.
Large attached garage with washer/dryer and lots of toys, life jackets and plenty of room to store anything extra that you brought.
Freshly cleaned Sheets and towels are included but bring your own beach towels.
Lots of parking on the private driveway in a quiet cul-de-sac. You will feel very secure here.
Convenience stores with gas stations are 15 minutes away with full grocery stores less than 30 minutes.
it is a great property. the house is truly lovely and very well maintained, the grounds are beautiful, and the views of the lake are outstanding. the screened in porch is a real bonus.
unfortunately, we happened to stay during a record-breaking heat wave, and the water was really, really, really warm (even the warm water lovers in our group could not swim in it). but according to the website of the utililty that is the source of the warm water, it appears that the water temp is generally that high, even when the air temp is more normally seasonal. we had chosen to be on the private side of the lake because of the warm water, but hadn't realized just how warm it would be. hence the title of the review. i should have checked that out before booking.
the kitchen is extremely well-equipped. the outdoor grills are terrific, the fridge is large, and there is a second in the garage. unfortunatley, the dining table only seats six -- it's a high table with 6 chairs, and regular height chairs are just too short for comfortable eating and conversation.
I understand it was the season, but we had to deal with an ant invasion in the kitchen, and also out in the sand.
the volley ball net and fire pit are very nice to have and the outdoor shower is a real bonus. (the canoe and one of the kyacks need repair.)
we very much apprecited that sheets and towels were provided; however, the towels are not to be used for the beach. I hadn't known that and didn't bring any extras.
the bathrooms are all very nice, though two of three are on the first floor. folks in the four upstairs bedrooms share a single bathroom, or go downstairs to take a shower.
a couple of things to keep in mind if you are coming with very small children (we had one two-year-old and three more younger than that, and 8 adults):
- the kids had a great time digging on the beach. we were disappointed that the little kids could not simply wade into the lake from the beach. there is a retaining wall with a staircase , so no gradual entry to the water.
- only the master ensuite on the first floor has a tub, which was a bit tough with our particular group.
but all-in-all, we had a truly wonderful time. it's a really beautiful, comfortable, and inviting home. the caveats were included because it's information I would have found useful.
our entire group, ranging in age from one to 68, had a great week!
My family and I had the most amazing stay at this beautiful beachfront property! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning lake views and the serene ambiance. The house itself is impeccably maintained, spacious, and beautifully decorated, creating a cozy yet luxurious atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, and waking up a short walk from a morning canoe on the lake mist was an absolute delight. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare our meals, and the outdoor grill was perfect for barbecuing while enjoying the sunset.
One of the highlights of our stay was the direct access to the beach. The shallow water meant countless hours of swimming and sand play for the kids. The outdoor shower was a great touch for rinsing off after a day of fun in the sun. The property's location is ideal, offering both privacy and proximity to local attractions and restaurants.
We truly appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the house, such as the beach chairs, various sizes of kids life vests, sand toys, kayaks, beach umbrellas, and a well-stocked supply of games and books.
Overall, our experience at this property exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing beachfront getaway. We can't wait to return!
We loved staying at this lovely home. We had 6 adults and 6 children staying in this home. There was plenty of sleeping space but kitchen was a bit tight. The beach was fantastic and the family spent a lot of time in the sand and water. The sunsets are breathtaking and a must if you visit this home. We had campfires several nights and kids enjoyed smore's. Tom, the neighbor, made sure the sand was clean and we had firewood the day we arrived. No need to bring sand toys, chairs or kayaks. The owners have everything right there, very convenient.
We did spend one day at Kings Dominion, it is a short 25 minute drive. The local Food Lion will deliver groceries through Instacart, so we had food and beverages shortly after we arrived. I would recommend this property for a fun vacation!
Lake Anna has been a gathering place for our family and friends for 25 years. We enjoy the beautiful sunsets, outdoor firepit by the water, swimming in the lake and boat rides at sunset. Nothing is more beautiful than the early morning peacefulness of the water and nature at Lake Anna.
You can't beat the full beach with shallow water for kids (1-2 feet) and deeper water for boats. The 300 ft sandy beach is one of the only large beaches on a private property. Great sunsets to watch as you sit on the beach. Best for 2-4 families with kids or 4 couples or a ladyâs getaway!
300 ft beach with shallow water on one side for small children and a deeper side to the left with a dock for a boat. We have a fabulous firepit and face the beautiful sunsets over the lake.
Towels and sheets provided. Less boat traffic, safe cove.
