Ce domaine de 6 000 pieds carrĂ©s sur une superficie est joliment dĂ©corĂ© et dispose de tous les nouveaux meubles et matelas. This house was beautiful. Clean and well kept from the inside. Might want to consider taking some water things (floats, paddle boards etc) because there was not a lot at all

Triathlon Team Stay for an Event at Pleasants Landing

Our triathlon club stayed at the property for the weekend to race in the “Rumpass in Bumpass” triathlon by kinetic Multisports. The home is amazing, it’s a perfect location and close proximity to event, and it easily accommodated the 10 of us with beds to spare! The owner was responsive via text message and very helpful when we had questions.

Family getaway.

We booked this for a weekend getaway for our family group of 15. The location is amazing and the house is a great stay for a group of this size. Sadly it appeared that nobody had cleaned the house after the last guests. It was frustrating to need to spend the first part of our vacation cleaning a house that charges a hefty cleaning fee on the rental, but even sadder that the host failed to make any attempt to rectify the situation. I offered to send pictures of the state of the home and discuss the situation but received no response from the host. All in all , it's a fantastic property but badly in need of some attention to detail or at a bare minimum they need to eliminate the cleaning fee if they don't clean it.

This was our annual trip to Lake Anna, Number 37. The weather was perfect. Nice house but there were a few things missing that would have been nice to have. especially in the kitchen. Overall a very nice weekend.

Family vacation

The house and cove were beautiful!! Plenty of space for our family of 9. There are many things to comment on though. The first thing would be the cleanliness of the house, garage, and outdoor shower. The outdoor shower had mud and mold on the ground and nobody wanted to shower there. The kitchen drawers were dirty and so was the downstairs. The bunkroom even had animal crackers all over the floor when we arrived. There is mold in the downstairs bedroom closet. There were many missing smoke detectors where there were just wires hanging down. It listed a canoe, but did not have one. The garage was dirty and smelled really bad. There were ripped screens and a ziptied shower head. There were rips in the sofa and broken handles on the foosball table. We also had problems with the stovetop because it wouldn't light. Sent a message to the owner, but no response. The other big negative was that we were responsible for taking our trash to the dump. This was very disappointing and not listed in the house description. We pay thousands for the week and have to drive our trash to the dump. Even had to take a bag 5 hours to our home because the dump was closed when we left. I was very disapponted about the cleanliness and safety of the house, especially the mold in the closet and food all over the floor. We pay a lot for the cleaning fee and it was definitely not cleaned well.

Family Vacation!

Our week long stay was enjoyable! The view of the lake from the main level allowed our elders to watch the family doing water activities without the heat of being outside. Fire pit was amazing for smores at night! Suggest bringing a canopy for sun cover on the dock area! All 6 bedrooms do not have closets so plan to use the dressers provided or pull from your suitcase. Pillows are flat and not sure comforters are washed since they do not go out for laundering with the sheets per the leaving instructions. I washed them when we arrived so that alleviated that concern.The kitchen has plenty of room for cooking and we also used the outdoor grills. One propane and the other is charcoal. They needed a good cleaning that we were a little bummed we had to do before use. Inside fridge was plenty big especially since garage fridge was not working properly.We rented paddle-boards and tandem kayaks for the week since the kayaks at the house were not quite what we expected upon arrival. They are on the smaller size. Totally suitable, we expected the larger upscale style kayaks being it’s a lake house rental. Garage smells awful and my husband suspects the rubber mat on the floor is the culprit since he saw mold under it in multiple areas. Water, concrete, and rubber mats don’t mix well.With 10 people we took the trash to the dumping area every 2 days. It’s approximately 10 mins each way.All and all we had an amazing time!

Wonderful 4th of July Get Away!

The house, property, and owner were wonderful. The house is beyond belief with many many fine features. The water access is incredible for both boating and swimming. The owner helped us get a ski boat and was very comfortable to work with.

Beautiful location, lots of family activities provided. Loved the fire pit! Many separate spaces to enjoy gathering in smaller or larger groups. (We used them all). Could have one more bathroom in the basement and needs adequate closet space in the basement too. There is definitely room to add this. I would definitely rent this house again.

Family Weekend

Very pretty Property. Comfortable, Welcoming, and spacious. The beds and pillows very comfy and nice. Beautiful views. Kitchen has everything needed. We loved the fire place and fire pit. One tip would be to have more information about how the all TV's work - Instructions on starting the gas fire place, fixing the ice machine, and the one burner on the stove would be a plus and having all light fixtures working upon arrival. Great Family Location. We hope to visit this property again.

Great boating location

This is a nice big house for a lake vacation and boating. It has a very nice dock and cove where you can swim and kayak. We rented a paddle board for a few days from lkaoutfitters. There are a small number of minor repairs needed in the house. They sent someone to fix a few things and he was very responsive in fixing the primary items needed right away.

Wonderful Weekend

We initially booked Busbees Retreat for a 12 person staff retreat. The retreat was cancelled a couple weeks out. 4 of us used the house for a relaxing weekend. We cooked in and the kitchen was well-stocked. All the spaces were clean and comfortable. Instructions were easy. The home and area are beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and an evening around the firepit.

Extensive cleaning with a cleaning fee

Comfortable property, however we had a very long and detailed list of chores to do before we could check out, even though we payed for cleaning service. We also had to take our trash with us and bring our own trash bags. Left the trip with a bit of frustration. If you plan on staying here plan on spending few hours cleaning.

Thanksgiving 2024

The house was spacious , impressive and very comfortable. Unfortunately it needs some maintenance (of issues submitted to owner) and updating of kitchen amenities Plates, glasses, eating utensils, etc need to accommodate the 16 people staying in the house. What was there reminded me of thrift store leftovers. The fees charged exceeded the quality provided. A brillo pad on some of the pots would do wonders Location was perfect for what we needed, bedding was plentiful and comfortable -my family loved the building and grounds Memos left for renters and agreement details that owner wanted me to sign were threatening and made me feel anxious and uncomfortable. Perhaps they have been burned by renters in the past and were trying to prevent recurrence? In all the years and many places rented for my family gatherings via VRBO and othere sites this is the first time I will say I was disappointed

Family Christmas

Our extended family stayed here during one of the coldest Christmases in many years. The home was definitely not built for this cold! The fireplace was a wonderful gathering place in the living room. with a Christmas tree the owners added which was a delightful plus! Although the home sleeps 16, the dining area only seats 8 (no barstools) so we had to eat in shifts. This is probably not an issue in the warm summer months when we could spread out to the outdoors. We had plenty of room inside to accommodate our family of 14 and will have many memories to share in the future about the "Christmas House" of 2022!

What can I say! This was our second time staying at Busbee's Retreat, and this stay was outstanding. This house sits in a beautiful location, lots of family activities provided. We loved the fire pit! There were also enough separate spaces to enjoy gathering in smaller or larger groups. (We used them all). I would definitely rent this house again. We booked Busbees Retreat back in 2017 and the stay was just as good this time as well. We used the house for a relaxing weekend. We cooked in the kitchen as well as the grills outside. All the spaces were clean and comfortable. The instructions were easy, communication with the owners was timely and exceptional. Also, information was readily available. The home and area are beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and even caught a few fish. Overall, Busbee's will be on our list for our next family gathering.

Beautiful home in a wonderful location

Our group enjoyed this home so much! The home was beautiful. There was plenty of room to accommodate our group of 12. The beds were comfortable, the game area (pool table, card table, football) was a ton of fun, and the outside was awesome. Even though we went in early spring we were still able to enjoy the fire pit, kayaks, and dock (which we caught multiple fish from). The owner was also great... super accommodating. She made sure we had access to a private boat slip to put our boat in. More importantly, she allowed us to postpone our trip after having a Covid scare around our original trip date. I was worried about losing money, but she was very understanding and allowed me to push our trip back by 3 months. The only thing I would say could improve was the kitchenware (dishes, pots and pans, and cutlery). Items were either missing or were very worn or in poor condition, but this wasn’t something I was surprised to find given that it was a vacation rental. All in all, I would definitely recommend the house and hope to stay there again in the future!

Good visit with family - chores though

The house was great for a gathering of our large group of 16. There was room for the kids to play in the basement and the adults to gather upstairs. The kitchen was also a nice size for making meals for our large group. We also appreciated the christmas tree in the living room as we exchanged Christmas gifts. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that we needed to bring a lot with us. For example, I got a phone call from family members who arrived first to purchase some toilet paper before coming. We had to bring paper towels, dish soap, toilet paper, dish detergent, etc. Also, we were expected to make the beds when we arrived and strip the beds upon checkout. We were also expected to dispose of all of our trash. (We were aware of this when we made the reservation but it was still annoying). The linens were not at the house when we arrived. When the linens were delivered, I was surprised to learn that we were expected to make the beds. When I made the reservation I sent a few messages to make sure the host had our numbers right. The host never responded. I asked the host questions about what we needed to bring. I didn't hear back until it was too late to be very helpful. The host said something was wrong with the app on her phone. I could overlook this but I never heard from the host again. No checking with me to make sure we were ok. No checkout message (other than the written instructions on the refrigerator) and no thank you email after we checked out. I even messaged them to say thank you and let them know we used most of their bandaids. But, I never got a response. A little more customer service would have made this stay nicer.

Spider Haven --never again!!!

Home was as depicted in photos on the inside however exterior was greatly neglected. House is covered in spider webs, gutters are over flowing with leaves and debris, and siding has mold. The lake is unbearably hot! Lake Anna is used as cooling basin for the nuclear power plant and the water temperature during our stay last week was between 90-100 degrees. It was not refreshing and actually hotter than the air temperature. The listing reports there are 2 canoes but there was only one when we arrived. The stairs down to the dock are plentiful and dangerous and no railings, do not advise for elderly or toddlers. On the inside of the home there is an old garage refrigerator did not get cold enough to maintain food. We could only use it for the kids drinks leaving 17 people with only small side by side in the kitchen. Not nearly enough room for a weeks worth of food. The dinning room table only seats 8 so we had to eat in sifts. There is a folding table but no place to set it up unless you wanted to eat in the garage with all the bugs and spiders. The dish network did not work until the day before check out. We spent 2 days with out running water and only intermittent electricity that had us all afraid the a fire would break out. The well pump went bad and took 2 days to fix with no compensation by the owners for our inconveniences. The hot water heater is far too small the house. Even with staggering showers (when we finally got water back) everyone ended up with cold showers. Landscaping crew showed up unannounced to mow on the Friday prior to check out (check out was on sat) and mowed while we were trying to eat outside kicking dirt and dust all over the deck. Would not ever rent here again!!
