Environ 35 minutes à 95/90 intersection et 1 sortie (6 miles (90-Mass Pike / 495 intersection 2 salles de bain complètes seront les commodités, cuisine complète avec lave-linge et lave-vaisselle. À quelques minutes de l'intersection 495/90, de sentiers pédestres et d'une épicerie ouverte 24h / 24. Cet endroit est génial pour les familles. Non! Fêtes ou rassemblements bruyants. Nous avons une belle cour arrière avec une aire de pique-nique à votre disposition, mais s'il vous plaît ne pas en abuser. Les animaux domestiques sont les bienvenus.

We enjoyed ourselves very much !!!

The property is absolutely beautiful. The house we rented is large and very accommodating for the 4 of us. Parking is very easy. Our requests were acknowledged with friendly and speedy service. We enjoyed our stay in Upton, MA!!! Thank you very much.

Missing information

This is a shared property with a dog and child living in the adjoined section of the house. The description and photos are not helpful at giving you an idea of the property. We had concerns that this wouldn’t work for us and the owner was very unhappy with us and refused to cancel the remainder of our stay. My mother and I ultimately felt so uncomfortable there with him next door that we left for another property we found and both vrbo and the owner have continued to refuse to reimburse the days we weren’t there.

Uninhabitable property

Even though I posted a 1 Star, it didn’t warrant it. Food debris in the kitchen. The property had window a/C’s but only 1 worked, so we were forced to sleep in the living room because the only a/c that worked was in the dining room. There was mold in the bathrooms, there were several outlets that weren’t working. There was a dining room chair that when I sat in it, the arm broke. You could clearly see where the glue was. Outside the plastic furniture was dirty and one of the seats was broken. No grill was found. The owner lived in the adjoining apartment, and there was a door that went directly into his apartment. We were traveling with our pets and the trip back to Massachusetts was for medical appointments so we couldn’t leave them unattended because the owner wanted to send someone over to look at these multiple problems. We left after one sleepless night and had to stay in two different hotels for the next 15 days. The kicker was that we found out that the town has multiple infractions against the owner, one being that it isn’t a legal two family dwelling.

Trip that ended on a very negative note

I was planning to leave a 3-4 star review for this property. Then two weeks after our trip, the owner Val unexpectedly sent us a strange bill. I spoke with VRBO and they said we did not have to pay it. Val then sent a weird email that ended, “You are going to regret this attitude.” This property is a duplex, and Val lives in the other side of the house. You share the backyard with his family. The backyard is beautiful. One night, Val hosted a small party and invited us to join. They were not loud. The house is old, with both the charm and inconveniences of being so. The beds were comfortable. My kids liked the toys in their room. It was nice to have an office, but that room did not have an AC. It does have a fan. The living room has a faint smell of cat pee, but it mostly goes away if the AC is on high. On our last day, the AC shortcircuited so half the house lost power. We tried to reset the breaker but couldn’t find the right switch. A toilet handle broke off during our stay, and an old lamp’s brittle plastic shattered when my 7yo tried to adjust the plastic lampshade. When we checked in, the previous tenant had left dog poo in a bag at the door step. Two days later, Val asked why we hadn’t cleaned it up. When we told him it wasn’t ours, he took care of it. The fire detector had dead batteries in it. Val replaced them when I told him. The shower curtain had black mildew along the bottom. The rest of the house was clean. We borrowed a vacuum from my family because the one in the house had been used for dog hair and smelled as such. We took care of a dying rat in the basement on a sticky trap. During our stay, Val had to travel, so he asked my husband to take out the trash for Val's wife. My husband happily obliged a couple times. On the day of our checkout, a hurricane was expected to hit so we tried to move projectiles in the yard away from the house. I’m bewildered by the bill and the “You are going to regret this attitude” email. Val’s complaints are that we moved 3 pieces of furniture and a lamp 1-5 feet from their original location (one moved for safety reasons), but there were no “house rules” that forbid this. He also wanted us to pay for the plumber to fix the toilet handle, which didn’t seem right since that was normal “wear and tear.” He wanted us to pay for the lamp, but the proposed amount seemed very high so we asked for a receipt. We stay in VRBOs and AirBNBs often and have never had a negative experience.

I would not host Tanley again and I would not recommend any other hosts to rent to her either. I tried to be nice to her and her family, let her eat our berries and let her kids play with my kids toys. However, she always had an attitude like she was unhappy about something and that I owed her something. She and her family broke the toilet, a lamp and a book shelf and refused to pay for repair/replacement. She also moved furniture, dishes and decorations around the house and never moved them back. The house was left dirtier that after any other tenant and the cleaners asked for extra $130 in cleaning tie to put everything back which Tanley refused to reimburse me for either. BTW we don't have rats, she is lying. We do have field mice in the basement on occasion in the basement as the house is in a country setting. Every single complaint or request that she had during her stay I took care of, but that was not enough. This person has an attitude and I would not deal with her again if I had a choice.

Excellent house and location. 1.5 miles from park and pickleball. Close to both WPI and Boston. Val is an outstanding host.

Unbelievable property, perfect for a week or weekend getaway in a woodsy setting! Hosts are superb!

Rented this property for a week, and it was amazing. Valentine (the host) is super friendly, and provides a great experience from bbq pits, campfires and picking berries from the amazing fauna in the backyard. The house itself has cool barn feel with modern appliances and a great tv room. Would 10/10 recommend for a family or group of close friends looking to have a quiet mellow weekend on a great property close to good hiking and pristine lakes. Thanks Val!

2nd home for the week

My family and I needed a place to call home for the week while our home was being renovated. This lovely farm house did the trick. Everything was very clean and all the essentials were available. Val was a welcoming host for our family including 2 dogs and 2 cats. Located close enough to 495 for ease of travel but far enough to feel the quaintness of Upton. Thank you Val and family for a lovely stay!

perfect for our needs

We were a golfing foursome and needed a centralized place to crash, prepare some food, and get cleaned up. With four bedrooms, two full baths, and fully accessorized kitchen, it was just what we needed. Val was accommodating on a late arrival time and could not have made check out any easier. Thanks Val!

The house was quite comfortable with four of us but felt a bit cramped when our last two joined us. Everything (but food, of course) was supplied that we needed. Good location and friendly host.

nice and cozy

We we in Upton, MA for a hockey showcase with my 3 boys. The location was best to several rinks in the area. Townhouse accommodated the 5 of us very comfortably along with our two dogs. Owner was very accommodating and kept in touch to make sure all was well. Having a washer and dryer with hockey clothes always helpful.. Definitely will use again if back in town.

Comfortable home beautiful area

The house was perfect for our family of six. The beds were comfortable and the area has all you need. Both a grocery store and good coffee are right near by. The owner is near and very welcoming.
