Big Bear Cabin se trouve Ă moins de 3 km de Beech Mountain, Ă environ 10 km de Sugar Mountain et Ă seulement quelques minutes du centre-ville de Banner Elk.
The cabin was a perfect fit for our family ski trip and comfortably accommodated 6 adults and 3 children. Kitchen was fully stocked for big family dinners. Driveway is definitely precarious for non-mountain drivers even without winter weather. Overall we loved our stay and would absolutely return in the future.
It was a cozy cabin and we enjoyed our stay. It is a good getaway place to relax and chill. The only drawback was the dusty carpets, otherwise a perfect cabin for our trip.
We had a great stay! The kids loved the bunk room, foosball table and electrical keyboard and we enjoy the choice of rooms! A lot of stairs for my littlest one, but we mainly stayed on the first two floors! Hot tub was also a great addition!
Very roomy place with a beautiful view. Checking in requires a stop to access keys. Upon entrance of the home it was exactly as pictured however the place was not cleaned well. The property manager worked with me for a resolution. Be sure to check the water levels of the hot tub as ours was not filled with enough water. Itâs a good location but we were not overly impressed with the amount of money we paid.
This cabin was perfect for our short getaway. House was clean, beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook. View was beautiful!
Great house for family with kids. Clean and wel maintained. Lots of hiking options nearby. Spring break was a quite time for the area this year. We enjoyed the quietness and remoteness.
This was the perfect property for us. Been to Banner Elk for many years, so we knew we wanted to be close to Beech Mountain for snowboarding and also downtown. Kids aged 6 to 8 had a blast; nice for them to be able to play downstairs separate from us adults. Hot tub was really nice. Most of all - the views!!! We were lucky to have some clear mornings and days to be able to see all those mountain tops. As far as location, views, comfort, and kid-friendly.... this place was perfect.
Loved staying at this property even after a hick up with check in. Kitchen was fully stocked which was greatly appreciated. Hot tub was great and the views were amazing
We loved the property! It was perfect for our group! We had 3 couples and we were in town for the weekend.
It was a bit tricky for check in. We were told to go to the Banner Elk post office to get the community gate opener. Well we went there and there was no clicker in the mailbox. That was a bit confusing. So we headed to the house. It was dark by now and you need to know that when you drive on to the road the house is at, it looks like you are going on a neighbors driveway but you are not! It is a steep road so if you come in the winter make sure your car can take it.
Overall it was a great experience!
Great cabin with exceptional views. Cabin was very spacious, clean, and the 2 decks both provided incredible views of the mountains. Beds were all very comfortable and the Kitchen/Living Room area was great for cooking and being able to hang out. Upstairs master has amazing views of the entire cabin and provided incredible views through the windows.
We had a small issue with the fire place which was fixed within 2 hours of calling for service.
We had a great trip even though it rained two whole days! House has keurig and drip coffee. Pans are not great, neither are knives. House is gorgeous. Master on top floor was harder for my mom, so we benefited from that!! Driveway is very steep. Great location to many things to do in the area as well.
This property was amazing and bigger than we expected. We took a nice COVID friends and family break it exceeded our expectations of a cabin! We all loved it. The only downfall and slight nusance was the need to stop at the post office for the gate code, but it is literally on your way to the house!! That was our only downfall from a whole weekend away! We all enjoyed it very much!
We had a great one-week stay at the cabin. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well laid out with adequate cooking utensils, etc.
Biggest issue was road noise when outside other than late at night. Hot tub was nice with a nice view. The TVs all looked nice but we didn't even use them.
We had one issue with a leaking toilet that got resolved. Communication could have been better but I think that was more of an issue with the maintenance contractor as opposed to the agency and didn't really impact us too much. A few other repairs are needed, such as sliding screen doors.
I did appreciate all the light switches being nicely labelled- it often takes a few days to figure out what switch controls which fixture when staying at a vacation cabin.
Was nice having garage to keep our cartoon carrier and wet hiking boots, etc, after a busy day.
This is a nice spacious 3 level cabin in Banner Elk. The main road up the mountain is very steep and the driveway down to the house is also very steep. Fine for summer trips, but would be scary for snow and ice months. The kitchen could use a few new fry pans, but we found everything else we needed to cook all our meals. The long mountain views off the back deck were very pretty. Family room can seat 6 people and the dining room table seats 8 with 2 bar stools (that were a bit wobbly and could use some adjustments). The bedrooms were spacious and beds were firm. We would have prefered 2 more King beds instead of the two Queen beds as our family all have king beds for more comfort (maybe an improvement when the mattresses get replaced in the future). The main floor bathroom needs a new toilet paper holder as the current one is falling off the wall. Overall it is a great house if you want a view and 3 floors to spread out. The downstairs double bunk beds were nice with 4 XL twins, which is much nicer than the normal shorter twin beds, and the lower level bathroom was a generous size with a double sink. One other recommendation is to get several rocker chairs for the main level deck. (the white ones in the pictures are not at the house any more). There were only 5 chairs on the main deck which wasn't enough for our family. We would enjoy staying here again next year.
We have been to Banner Elk / Beach MNT several times and it's always a great trip. The location of this cabin is ideal. However the driveway to the property is SOMETHING SERIOUS. Yes you do need a 4 Wheel Drive and an appropriate vehicle in all places in the area, however, this driveway to this property is uniquely dangerous- and thinking about driving on it during snowy weather became very stressful - which on our last day, we had several inches of snow. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because this home really needs larger barriers on the drop off edges of the driveway , at the top where the sharp curve is and at the bottom of the driveway where the drop off is. Both places are life threatening in snowy/icy weather- mostly to people who are not use to snow. Other than that, The cabin was perfect - it was roomy, clean and the views are amazing. The Carolina Cabin service who answered the phone were always great and responsive. The communication through the entire process was wonderful. I recommend taking your children to the sledding hill in Beach MNT, and eating at Bella's. Great time !
