Private, quiet, and secluded. Exactly what I needed. My host, Mrs. Amanda, was wonderful, and made my stay comfortable, and reinvigorating. Simply put, I loved it!
We had a great time at this scenic house for our Sipapu ski trip. It is very cozy and well stocked with kitchen and house supplies, and the owners were great at info and communication. The location is a bit rural so plan your dinner runs and day trips. It was a very pleasant stay.
We had a great stay in Llano. The property owners were very helpful and easy to get in touch with. The house was extremely clean and well taken care of. We would definitely stay again!
We like to board at Sipapu, so this house is the best we have found yet!! It was a great house, super warm and had everything needed! The only tiny drawback was the distance from the slopes, but thatâs part of it here. Highly recommend in all the ways with this house!
Beautiful home! Itâs a little hard to find, but really nice to get away from the busy city! Be sure to bring your own food, but once you get there, the owners have everything you might need! Very comfortable beds and Amazing views! A little bit of a drive to the slopes, but even in snow the roads are cleared regularly! We would definitely consider staying here again if we are in the area!
My family of six stayed in this house while skiing at Sipapu Ski Resort. It is very nicely furnished and all necessities are provided. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I believe the listing is a little misleading. It states that this is a 3 bedroom house. It is actually a 2 bedroom house with a loft that can only be accessed by climbing up a wooden ladder! Thank goodness that we have boys ages 19 and 20 who could climb the ladder and sleep up in the loft. But, it would be difficult for older people to do that. Once up in the loft, a six-foot tall person can stand in the middle of the room, but the ceiling is slanted, so you have to duck on either side of the bed. I went back and looked at the listing to see if I missed this in the description, but it definitely says 3 bedrooms. The pictures do show a ladder in the living room, and you can see the slanted ceiling in the picture of the loft. I guess when I was looking at the pictures, I did not put two and two together because it did not occur to me that one of the "bedrooms" was a loft, and we were disappointed about that. Other than that, this is a fantastic place. Pastures surround the house, with a mountainous view. It was a 20 minute drive to Sipapu Ski Resort. The whole vicinity of the ski resort and the house is pretty remote; the only real store anywhere close is a Family Dollar in the town of Penasco, which is about 5 mins from the house, so be sure to buy your perishable groceries in advance! A warning for summer visitors: the house is not equipped with air conditioning. The "house rules" given to us state that to stay cool in the summer months, you should open windows. We were there in January and it was very cold. But, it did get up into the 40s on two of the days we were there. When we returned to the house in the late afternoon, after a full day of skiing, it was 78 degrees in the house! We had to open windows to cool it down. I'm not sure how hot it would get in the summer. But, the house is very spacious. Everything is updated and very clean. Amanda (the owner) was very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this house, given the caveats of the loft and lack of a/c.
Booked this place to take my boys on a ski trip at Sipapu for spring break. It was perfect, had more than enough space and the accommodations were great. The location was perfect, secluded but not a very far drive to the resort. Would definitely book this place again.
We loved this house. We took day trips to numerous sites in northern NM. The house is beautiful, functional, and well stocked. We so admire the ownersâ efforts to conserve energy and make it sustainable. The surroundings are spectacular. Nobody wanted to leave when it was time to go.
Overall the house was clean and exactly as described. The directions to the property were spot on and the home was cozy and comfortable for us. Will definitely stay here again.
This place is incredible. It is super clean and feels fresh and new. It has huge clear windows everywhere that make for awesome scenic views in every direction. Snow was coming down hard while we were there and it was so peaceful sitting in this beautiful, warm house watching the snow fall. It has everything you need in the kitchen to cook with. The beds are comfortable. 2 of my kids loved sleeping up in the loft. Itâs just a short drive to Sipapu. The host, Amanda, is very easy to work with and is extremely thoughtful and accommodating. You can tell she really cares about this place and her guests. We would definitely come back and stay here again in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a place in this area, look no further. This is your spot. Thanks Amanda!
The house is great - clean, roomy, well-furnished, great views. Itâs a bit off the beaten path, but thatâs kind of what we were looking for. Youâll have to drive to Taos for groceries, restaurants, etc. but otherwise, this is a great home to relax and get away.
We will for sure stay here again when returning to Sipapu.
The host was very gracious to make we were taken care of. There were a few issues with the laundry and fireplace and she was more than willing to make sure we were taken care of.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We picked this place because it is close to Sipapu, which we had ski tickets for. We found much more than just a "nearby location".
Access to the home is convenient. There are gas stations about 10-15 minutes away. The place is secluded yet allows access to the Taos road not too far away.
The home is lovely wood-and-concrete architecture, very new, very well built and eco-friendly (making use of solar power amongst other things). Appliances are all very modern. The house was well stocked. The kitchen overlooks the den while also linking to an everyday breakfast/dining table with great views all around.
One of the things we enjoyed was having many windows (all with blinds but you're so isolated that privacy is not a concern) especially in the master bedroom, where we could just lay down at night and watch the stars around us.
The kitchen had a state-of-the-art oven and fridge, and (yeah, it's the little things) a great and well-seasoned set of ironware which is great for cooking.
There's an "upstairs room" which is accessed through a vertical ladder--it is great for kids, although certain adults may frown on accessibility (not our case, though).
The ambiance is unique to the house and includes the many windows with gorgeous views. Dawn and sunset are not always visible except at certain angles but we did enjoy some pretty outstanding sunsets from the breakfast area.
The decor includes a well stocked library with books on photography, nature/wilderness, off-grid/sustainable living, etc as well as live plants, accents reminiscent of beaches and lots of wood which turns things very cozy. It blends perfectly with the area, incorporating a few woven navajo-type blankets with other decorations that for some reason reminded me of the West coast in a lovely blend of good-taste, modern and rustic. Perhaps took me back to some of the vacation homes I spent time at during much of my childhood.
The house includes puzzles and toys, a large TV, and VERY comfortable beds (the master bed was a dream, which was very welcome after long active days).
The access through the garage door is very convenient in the winter season as it provides a landing spot to remove snow-covered gear/shoes away from the elements before getting inside.
Our hosts helped us out and answered any pesky questions promptly and were very mindful of our needs and trying to make our stay memorable, which they succeeded at.
Thank you Amanda!
The house was great for our family. The kids enjoyed playing in the snow and playing in the loft area. Owner's directions were right on point. Kitchen was great to prepare meals. We would definitely stay here again.
This house is beautiful and has been a great place for our family to relax after riding at sipapu which is a quick drive from the house. Itâs just as described and has comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen (plates, utensils, coffee maker, pots/pans, etc), great appliances, and plenty of hot water for showers or baths in both bathrooms. We really enjoyed building a fire in the fire pit and grilling hot dogs and roasting marshmallows. There is a Family Dollar for some supplies a short 10 minute drive from the house. The whole family enjoyed this house and we highly recommend it. Amanda was also a great host and was quick to respond to any questions that came up.
Decided to go off the beaten path (for us anyway) and ski Sipapu. This house is around 20 min away and totally worth it. I canât say enough about how much we dug the house and understand what they were trying to do when it was built. Great place to relax after a hard day of skiing. Will be back.
Very clean and organized home. Nice finish out and extremely comfortable. Home was even well stocked with the basics and beyond for those cooking. One master with a king, another room with a queen and a loft that opens to living room that can comfortably sleep 1-2 children. We would definitely stay there again.
I am the property manager and neighbor to this beautiful home, owned jointly between myself and my two sisters. The house was built in 2016 by our father.
This property was passed onto my sisters and I after our father's death and we immediately knew we wanted to keep it for our families to enjoy. It is located in the area where we all grew up and holds a special place for all of us.
