Our second visit. Beautiful historic home and town, great hosts. The best place for a relaxing getaway with pristine views and quietude We ll be back, many thanks to the hosts.
Property is out of the way providing the privacy we wanted! Super nice and clean inside. Beautiful views of the mountains. Owner is super nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again!!!
We love coming back to this lovely casita to soak in the peacefulness, the beautiful views and the calming sounds of nature just being herself! Mornings on the patio are a little slice of heaven.
Pictures donât do justice to how beautiful inside & out!
This is a beautiful casita with a great Mountain View! The owners were always quick to respond to any questions we had, and everything we needed was provided, such as paper products, cleaners & coffee. The place was really clean and comfortable. We couldnât have been happier with our stay!
The house was gorgeous including the furniture; a New Mexican palace! The location in Truchas was beautiful and the views of the mountains from the back porch were stunning! It was beautifully quiet and the air was clean and sweet. We would love to visit again!
Pictures do not due it justice! A perfect gem in northern New Mexico. Nearby lakes for kayaking/fishing, walking distance to art galleries and historic town. Hosts were delightful and very accommodating! Making this an annual stay!
This property is just full of southwest style details that will not cease to keep your interest. Beautfully done! Everything one would need for a weekend, week or month! Five Stars!
Lovely natural setting with views. The restored adobe house is spacious, beautifully decorated with Southwest flair. Well-functioning kitchen, nice living room and comfortable bedroom. It was quiet, private, and tranquil!
This was my second stay at the Casita. If you love open space, mountain views and absolute quiet, you'll love this place. Very tasteful Southwestern decor inside and a large and fully functional kitchen. I go to write and hike, and the Truchas mountains, which you can see from the bedroom, are full of beautiful trails. I look forward to returning.
We wanted a place to recharge and escape from our hectic life. This place is off the beaten path and lovely. The stars at night are glorious. A short trek through beautiful country to either Santa Fe or Taos. Quiet, peaceful, comfy! The hooting owl and light snow made it picture perfect. Our hosts were helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again next time we head that way.
The house is better than the pictures on line. It is beautiful and spacious with a wonderful patio that we used in the mornings and when we returned in the evening. The location is remote but easy to get to Taos or Santa Fe and the drive both ways is beautiful. We found that at the end of the day we preferred to head back to the house and just hang out for the evening. It was hard to leave!
Lovingly restored to perfection. Large bedroom living area and kitchen. Perfect setting with patio for breakfast and dinner watching the fields change color with the sun.
Owners were friendly helpful And went out of their way to share history of the area along with great recommendations for restaurants and hiking spots . Plus a bottle of wine coffee abs fresh eggs!
We loved Truchas and surrounding area with the landscape hiking history and arts.
Loved everything about our stay.
The location is remote but beautiful. Truchas is a ways away from everything but if youâre looking for quiet and getting away this is a great rental.
We were greeted by the host dog named Buddy and the host Ben showed up soon after we arrived. We needed an extension cord to run our Roku on the TV and Ben showed up in minutes delivering one.
Loved staying here and I would definitely recommend it. Lots of room and it feels like home!!!
We really enjoyed our stay at Annette and Ben's! Their adobe was one of the nicest places we've stayed, very comfortable to come back to after our hikes, had the necessary kitchen supplies including a good assortment of basic spices and condiments to cook some of our own meals and was in a beautiful location. Ben brought us fresh eggs, shared hike suggestions and was great at getting back to us. Their place is in a very rural area which was perfect for us. We loved sitting outside on the patio listening to the many birds while we enjoyed lunch or a snack after one of our hikes. If you enjoy rural life or need to get away from the city, I highly recommend Annette and Ben's adobe!
Lets start with the beautiful drive to the Casita. Gorgeous quaint rustic scenery. The Casita is situated with views from all directions. The checkin was so easy and the owners were very quick with all communication. The inside is so stunning and cozy it was really ideal for what i was looking for, decompress and enjoy.. I hope whoever reads stays longer then 2 days, because its just not enough. The owners have thought of everything and you'll really need nothing. There is also so much to see and do in all seasons. Thank you for sharing ypur stunning home with me..
Beautiful home and amazing views. All of the interior had hand hewn wood doors, furniture, hinges, etc., with all of the modern amenities (designer kitchen). We literally did not want to leave the property; however the home is an easy drive to Rancho de Chimayo or Tesuque Market for dinner, and Santa Fe or Taos for an easy day or afternoon trip to visit galleries, museums, etc. There is grocery shopping nearby in Espanola (i.e., Walmart, etc.). Be sure to check out Sugar Nymphs, a close by restaurant. We prefer staying outside of Santa Fe to avoid the traffic and noise. This is is a great place to stay if you want to explore the entire area including Colorado (take a day trip to Durango or Pegosa Springs). The casita is quiet, a great place to relax and recharge.
Wonderful property! Warm and welcoming escape! Hosts are awesome!
This was just what we were looking for; a place to get away from the rat race and enjoy some piece and quiet. The casanita is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. We were able to take day trips if we wanted. We explored the Ghost Ranch and Santa Fe both about an hours drive. We also sat and read books not Facebook! It was awesome to disconnect from technology! When we were there, the moon was full and the stars bright! Inside the decor was beautiful and we enjoyed cooking in an up to date kitchen when we did not want to go out. The property owners were so welcoming and made sure all are needs were met! We will definitely make a repeat trip!
The house was originally built in the late 1800's by my wife's family. It originally started as a one room adobe, then over the years rooms were added on. When we purchased it 10 years ago it was a three bedroom one bathroom home with last family having 6 kids raised.
We remodeled it into a one bedroom guest house - it is a totally detached home (roughly 150 yards from our house) on an acequia (dating to the 1750's). Attached are pastures where the family has bailed alfalfa for many years.
