Nestled amidst a rural landscape of woodlands, olive groves, hilltop villages and vineyards at the southern tip of Umbria, La Casa di Bianca is a welcoming villa set in spacious grounds, ideal for families and groups of friends. Its location, on the border of Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany, ensures you are well placed to visit stunning towns such as Orvieto, Bolsena, Terni, Bagnoregio (even Rome by train) as well as more 'off the beaten track' gems such as Amelia, Orte, Lago di Vico and Caprarola to name just a few.
Of course, many a day will be spent by the pool and what a lovely pool, its sparkling waters glimpsed through the hedges that edge the lower garden. A good size for swimming, at one end of the pool there is also a seating ledge for when the effort of swimming becomes too much. It overlooks the olive grove and edges the woodland which, as part of the property, can be explored at leisure.

Flowing over three floors, the interior is light and airy, with generously proportioned living accommodation. The main kitchen diner and living room are on the lower level, the place for groups to congregate. With a backdrop of white walls throughout, the décor is traditional and simple, with the bedrooms benefitting from air conditioning. A run of French windows on the lower level open out to the covered terrace and garden, the setting for alfresco meals of pizza and pasta. Covered terraces on the upper level provide further seating areas in the shade and a spot for sundowner drinks.

Local amenities and restaurants can be found in nearby Lugnano di Teverina, Giove and Amelia, all within a 15 minute drive. A meander through scenic countryside will lead you to fascinating spots: Sant’Angelo with its fairytale frescos, the waters of Lago di Bolsena and its lakeside villages, the thermal springs of Viterbo for a spot of relaxation... And finally, the capital Rome needs little introduction and is easily accessible from La Casa di Bianca. Catch the train from Attigliano (12km) or Orte (20km) and an hour later you will arrive in the heart of one of the world’s most iconic cities. Don’t forget to throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain to ensure you will return one day.
