We made a last minute reservation at this beautiful house for a long weekend and had absolutely fabulous stay. The house is huge and very well equipped, surrounded by a beautiful garden with a fantastic swimming pool. a perfect stay, nothing more to add!
We had a wonderful stay with our three teens. The location was excellent for day trips to Rome and for seeing the beautiful hill towns. Grocery and restaurants nearby. The beautiful house, pool and grounds provided us enough space to be together and to also find peace and quiet when we wanted! Gorgeous balcony on the upper level, very comfortable beds and bed linens, well-equipped kitchen. Owners and property manager could not have been kinder or easier to deal with. We feel so lucky to have booked this stay!
My very large family of 7 plus my mother stayed very comfortably at Casa Glenister. That 1 week provided us with memories that will last a lifetime! We ventured to Rome on some days and others lounged by the pool. Soriano gave us a glimpse of an unspoiled rural Italian town. Flori is the best! She provided us with all kinds of tips and information. The pasta and cooking class that she and her mother put on was absolutely wonderful! You will need a car as the train station is about 15-20 min, but a trip to the local market in Sant Eutuzio is only 1km away, a quick little walk. The panoramic views are breathtaking and the kids loved playing in the pool. This is the very definition of a classic country italian villa and will provide any group with great vacation. My kids are already looking forward to our next visit. The owners are great people, quick to respond to emails and very accommodating to our needs. A week is definetly not enough to see everything. The pictures are accurate, but it looks even better in person, everything was clean and well maintained. We would highly recommend this property to anyone!
This is a beautiful home, the location is great if you want to enjoy some relaxing time, it's not hard to get to Rome via train or even driving. Very spacious and close to town to get the necessary groceries or anything else you might need/or forgotten to include. The contact person was great (Floriana), so helpful and warm. Would definitely love to stay here again on our next trip to this area of Italy.
We loved our stay here; one of the best equipped places we've stayed in in Italy; all of the home comforts/holy grails like kettles and microwaves, plenty of space and a lovely breeze in the evening. Lots to do nearby; even a playpark 10minutes away to keep our toddler happy - can't ask for more than that!
I booked this villa for a group of 8 for a surprise birthday weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The pool area and area for outdoor dining are both great, and the house itself is well equipped with everything we could possibly need. We also arranged for a cook to come one night to make us dinner and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced - definitely recommended if coming for a special occasion. Would love to come back! Â
We have just returned from 12 nights at Casa Glenister and have to say we had a fantastic time. The house is nice and spacious with plenty of room for our group of 7. The garden was lovely and we spent many afternoons and evenings relaxing by the pool after visiting the area. Rome was not too far away and there were plenty of places closer to the house to visit too. Bagnoregio was our favourite. Floriana was fantastic and gave us lots of good advice including recommending us to visit a local flower festival and cherry festival. Her parents were wonderful too and gave us fresh produce from their allotment and advice on how to prepare it. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would thoroughly recommend Casa Glenister as an ideal place for a relaxing holiday and a great location for exploring the Lazio region.
We have just returned from a truly lovely holiday at this villa. There were 6 adults, with a 5 year old and 9 month old. The villa was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The beds were extremely comfortable which is always a plus. The games room was great fun and a useful space for us all. We lit the fire on the loggia on a couple of evenings and sitting out there together with a glass of wine was the best. Although it was the second week in April and the pool wasnât due to be open, the owners kindly made the pool ready for us. Although the water was cold it was bearable! The weather was kind to us; we only had one afternoon of rain, otherwise it was generally warm and sunny with a bit of cloud. We were able to visit Bagnoregio and Lake Bolsena nearby. We had day trips to Rome, Ostia Antica and Florence, further away but only a little over two hours by car at the most, (to reach Florence). We had take away pizzas from the local restaurant, which we can thoroughly recommend. The grounds at the villa were lovely and the scenery in every direction was picturesque. Any questions we had prior to, or during the trip were answered swiftly by the owners and while there, by Floriana, who was a great help and gave us lots of information. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We loved our time here and hope very much to return in the future.
Had an excellent time at this Villa. The communication before we went was great and we were met by Flori when we arrived who kept in touch by phone and answered any questions we had during the week. There was 9 of us staying, of different ages, and there was ample room for us all.
We especially enjoyed eating out on the veranda in the evenings.
The surrounding towns are very pictures with great small shops selling bread, fruit etc.
One tip if you are buying a lot of food go to the Eurospin shop rather than the Coop.
I can highly recommend this villa
The villa is beautiful... clean, lots of space inside and out and well equipped for a group of 8. The pool and terrace area are fantastic.. we enjoyed lots of long lunches and lazy afternoons there. Floriana was extremely helpful. We would recommend a visit and swim at Lake Bolsena. So glad we discovered this villa.
We had a wonderful time here. A family of eight sharing my wife's fortieth birthday. The Villa is amazing. The pool was refreshing, but it was late October! The views are spectacular having evening meals on the rear patio. Florence is only two hours drive away and Rome only just over an hour. Amazing places to visit nearby also. Overall, we had a brilliant time. The weather was a warm 21c most days.
Casa Glenister is the perfect villa for family holidays. There were ten in our party - 6 adults and 4 children. The villa is very comfortable and well kitted out with all necessary conveniences. The large pool is superb, set in a huge garden, and the views from the terraces are magnificent. There are plenty of interesting places to visit within easy reach including Lake Vico, Lake Bolsena, Orvieto, Viterbo and of course, Rome.
We had a fantastic stay in Casa Glenister. The villa was great and we spent many an hour in the pool and also in the games room playing table tennis. The kitchen had recently been refurbished and we mostly self catered. The local Coop in Soriano had everything we needed. We did try out the local pizzeria, which was very reasonable also. Flori was really helpful and made some great suggestions for excursions. We went to the sculpture park in Bomarzo, went to the forests (La Faggeta) on the Cimino mountain, the lake at Bolsena, and some of the party took a day trip to Rome. The weather was perfect with a lovely breeze, which meant the heat never became too much. Ingrid and Pete were great at ensuring we had everything we needed to know before we set off, and with Flori being nearby we always felt like we could seek advice or recommendations. I cannot recommend this villa highly enough, and I'm certain we will return again as we felt we had only just scratched the surface of things to do around Soriano.
Our family of 7, from age 14 to grandparents, had the good fortune of staying at Casa Glenister in June 2016. After a week visiting big tourist cities it was refreshing to spend the next week relaxing at this beautiful villa.
The location is outstanding with the views, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, and we made good use of the games, DVDs and especially the pool.
Floriana was a real treasure with her help. She offered many suggestions of places to visit, which we did and enjoyed. She assisted with our getting a phone card and arranging a taxi. She speaks perfect English.
We recommend having a car, however if you get it in Orte be aware that they do not speak English.
Our favorite place to eat was the local pizzaria, Scacco Matto, wonderful food and the nicest people.
Pete and Ingrid were great to work with in their communication with us.
We would love to come stay here again.

Lovely bedrooms and lounge but kitchen was very small for 9 people. Wasn`t very suitable for small children (ours were 2, 3 and 5). We
had to barricade the bars in the play area upstairs as they could squeeze through and fall on to the stairs.Pool and grounds were attractive. The children enjoyed collecting hazelnuts. Unfortunately we could not eat outside in the evening because of mosquitoes. As there was hardly any mosquito protection on the windows or doors it could get very hot and unpleasant particularly in the kitchen.
Floriana was marvellous, very helpful, made a list of places the children might like (they especially liked the `Monster Park`).
We went to Soriano,Viterbo,Orte and also Orvieto which we thought was delightful.(over 50mins according to Google Maps-not 30).
We didn`t realise we even had to cook in bottled water - takes a lot of water for pasta for 9. We found it a nuisance having to collect water all the time.We would have preferred to be told about the water and the 100 euros cleaning fee BEFORE finally booking.
A lovely relaxing villa, very private rural location, but easy access to surrounding areas.
This is a lovely relaxed villa, in a very private rural location, but superbly placed for easy rail access to Rome and Florence (12 euros for a day ticket to Rome, including public transport in the city) and a short drive to the lovely city of Orvieto. La Faggeta forest and restaurant, just 20 mins drive, were a big hit. A car is essential.
We were a family of 6 adults and 4 kids aged 2-9. The older kids loved the pool, and all enjoyed roaming in the huge garden and climbing the big, very laden cherry tree. There are several different areas to the villa, where we could all spend time together or escape for a bit of peace, so it works well for a big group. The outside covered eating area was a bonus for cover on both those hot days and the couple of heavy downpours we had, and we enjoyed several al-fresco meals taking in the beautiful peaceful countryside and views.
The villa is very well-equipped, and well stocked with books, games, toys and DVDs, and the table football and ping pong were also a hit.
Flori was very warm and welcoming, and a great source of information on the locality via WatsApp , although we were happy to spend a few days just relaxing around the villa and enjoying the family being together.
Having to get bottled water wasn't too much of a problem, as we just refilled the bottles (for free) at the nearby village of Sant' Eutizio. We also discovered a shop selling wine on tap for 1 euro here, sadly on our last day!
All in all, Casa Glenister is a great place for a relaxing family holiday, at a reasonable price, and in a good location for attractions further afield if desired.

Amazing
We absolutely enjoyed our 1 week stay at Casa Glenister. On the lead up to our stay Ingrid and Pete quickly answered any queries we had and gave all relevant information as required.
We travelled as a group of 9 (6 adults, 2 children and a baby). The house is set out of the way a bit so a car would be required, although my parents did walk to both Sant Eutizio and Soriano. It is set out with nothing but trees around and a couple of other properties dotted in the landscape so you definitely get to get away from it all. The house itself has everything you need with a dining table both in and outside, a large living room and a games room upstairs with table tennis and table football for the cooler days or evenings. It is also well equipped with regards to cooking with a large fridge, good cooker and plenty of crockery and cutlery supplied.
A short drive out gets you to Sant Eutizio where there is a restaurant and a shop, but we found these to be of low reliability, so a slightly further drive in either direction will take you to Vasanello or Soriano where there are more shops, restaurants and sights to see. While we were there Floriana was very good with providing help, advice and recommendations.
The villa was clean throughout and beautiful too with the many flowers and plants along the terraces and the trees surrounding it. We are fully booked for next few holidays but we are already discussing as a group as to when we could return to this wonderful place.

Qui vous reçoit ?
Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Ingrid or Pete Glenister
We are Pete and Ingrid Glenister. Above is a photo of our family at our excellent local pizzeria, where any guest of ours will be royally treated by Nereo and Mary - good friends (and neighbours) of ours. The villa is our home in Italy. We love it very much. We are based in London, but now spend a couple of months a year in our villa restoring and improving her or on holiday with friends. We both grew up nearby. I am a qualified doctor, but have given up medecine to become a songwriter and record producer. My wife does the serious work, bringing up our children and working for a local old peoples charity. We have been renting out the spare time at the villa since 2007.
We bought the house near Soriano because we had some Italian friends who have a house not far away and they showed us around the area. We loved it straight away as is not at all touristy but only an hour from Rome - our favourite city. We had also had many holidays in nearby Orvieto. So we can stay in a beautiful villa, sample authentic Italian life amd visit Rome whenever we feel like it. You can go by car or by train from Orte (35mins to centre) - you can also get to Orte from Fiumicino airport directly by train which is very convenient for visiting friends. We now have many friends in and around Soriano - the local people have been very friendly and welcoming to us. We've discovered the local lakes and mountains - also the seaside is now (due to a new fast road) accessible in under an hour, so we go quite a bit.
When we first visited the villa we just loved the peace and quiet, the space and the truly spectacular and ever changing view. We love to eat great food outside with a wonderfull view - we can do that there to our hearts content, (much of it we grow on site!). Giovanni (Floriana's father) will also bring you fresh vegetables from the vegetable gardens when he's got more than he can eat! We can swim in the pool (which shares the same view) before and after. It's great place to be if you want to be somewhere fairly quiet, private and beautiful, but want to be able to visit Rome/Florence/Sienna/Orvieto or Viterbo as well. Also it's near the seaside, the lakes the mountains and the thermal springs at Viterbo - so there's always lots to do for both adults and kids if you want to go out for the day. Mostly though it is a great way to spend some time in a friendly atmosphere, sampling good Italian life without being in a touristy environment. You'll be well looked after by an English/French speaking hostess (Floriana) who is a local tour guide who can point you towards whatever activity you might want to do. She will also provide fully guided tours (she is a qualified tour guide and a mine of local information) to local sites if you want to book her. It is a large spacious villa with lots of room for kids to play inside (large games room with table tennis and table football) or outside (lots of land and a pool).
