Hidden in private woodland in the middle of a small family run farm, the cabin sits by a quiet lake, where birdsong and the soft rustle of trees set the tone for complete relaxation. Step outside to enjoy the hand-hammered copper bathtub or the Swedish sauna, perfectly positioned to immerse you in the peaceful surroundings. As night falls, stargaze by the fire pit for a truly magical experience.

Cabin Highlights:

Private Lake & Seclusion: Enjoy your own slice of nature, surrounded by woodland and complete privacy. Watch the kingfisher dive for fish while relaxing in bed, or take advantage of the dark skies and stargaze from the bathtub, sun loungers and firepit.

Luxury Outdoor Bathing & Sauna: Unwind in a hand-hammered copper bathtub or the traditional Swedish sauna with views of the lake.

Cosy Interiors: Underfloor heating, a velvet sofa, and a king-size bed dressed in 1,000-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets provide a warm and inviting space.

Entertainment & Dining: Watch films on the 2-metre projector screen or enjoy al fresco dining with the gas BBQ and outdoor seating.

Absolute heaven

This place is unbelievable. If you want a place of serenity and calm, not far from York, then this is the perfect place! The hosts are super nice and very helpful. We will definitely come back !

Every time we go away, it reminds us just how wonderful it is to live here in Burythorpe. That’s why we decided to create spaces like Kingfisher Cabin—so we could share this special place with others. We love welcoming guests and helping them experience the beauty of Yorkshire, from the peaceful countryside to the vibrant local food scene.

Our aim is to create retreats where you can truly relax, reconnect, and take things at your own pace. If there’s anything you need during your stay, we’re only a few minutes away and always happy to help.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We love where we live. Every time we return home, we’re reminded just how special this part of Yorkshire is. Burythorpe gives you the best of both worlds—peaceful countryside for slowing down and recharging, but with so many brilliant places close by to explore.

We’re lucky to have the foodie town of Malton just a short drive away and the stunning landscapes of the North York Moors and Yorkshire coast within easy reach. Our village pub is a 300 year old coaching inn with roaring open fires most of the year which is lovely and the vineyard in the next village is of course, also lovely.

Unlike typical holiday rentals, this cabin is designed as an immersive retreat. You can soak in the outdoor bath under the stars, unwind in the Swedish sauna with lake views, and enjoy peaceful walks through your own private woodland paths. It’s the perfect mix of seclusion and comfort, making it an ideal escape for couples looking to relax and reconnect.
