Escape to this charming retreat nestled within a picturesque complex of two traditional countryside cottages and a short distance from a Grade II-listed farmhouse. This cottage is situated in a stunning location that showcases the best of the Devon countryside, complete with picture-perfect walking trails right from your doorstep. The cottage offers easy access to the vibrant city of Exeter, just 10 miles away. Exeter is home to a renowned Gothic cathedral, a fine art museum, and an extraordinary network of underground passages accessible through guided tours. Wander the charming streets filled with a variety of cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops for a delightful day out. Adventure seekers can enjoy the captivating landscapes of Dartmoor National Park (12 miles), famous for its ever-changing scenery, breathtaking views, and deep wooded valleys – perfect for immersive hikes. This getaway seamlessly blends tranquillity and accessibility, providing guests with a truly wonderful stay.
Upon entering this stunning retreat, you'll be greeted by a beautifully light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, featuring gorgeous, exposed beams that highlight the blend of original and contemporary elements within the home. This wonderfully sociable space boasts a stylish look with cosy sofas and a Smart TV, allowing you to relax in style while enjoying your favourite films after a day of adventure. The dining area offers the perfect setting for laid-back meals to share those best moments of the holiday, while the well-appointed kitchen includes all the necessary appliances and more for a stress-free stay. When the night draws in, retreat to your choice of three bedrooms where this holiday home’s unique design comes into play. Along the lower floor hallway, you’ll find both a king-size bedroom and a double bedroom. The king-size room boasts the added luxury of an en-suite shower room, whilst there is also a family bathroom with shower over roll-top bath and WC opposite the second bedroom. The final bedroom is accessed by heading up the stairway from the lounge and acts incredibly well as a family room, featuring a double and separate single bed. There is also a separate WC. All bedrooms host a chest of drawers and hanging space, as well as all beds having a 1,000-pocket sprung mattress to aid a great night’s sleep during your stay.
The outside spaces surrounding this holiday home are truly what sets this getaway apart from your typical countryside cottage. The retreat has its own enclosed, gravelled, outdoor seating area attached, perfect for that relaxing al fresco breakfast to plan the day ahead. The site hosts a multitude of outside amenities including children’s playing apparatus, spacious lawn areas with badminton and table tennis, as well as the hidden tub house, an outdoor bathroom with two cast iron baths and a shower. The communal fire pit is a great spot to enjoy a Devon sunset, or you can even hire the cob pizza oven, both of which are located in the orchard, which is also a perfect spot to let pets burn off some energy. Last but certainly not least is the shared gallery space, a beautifully restored old cattle shed which hosts a pool table and wide choice of games and books to enjoy.
