House in Ieper
We booked as a family to go to Ieper. We were given all the instructions ahead of time to check in. We arrived after 11pm to find a family already asleep in our flat (opened the door and could see all their personal posessions etc). We shut the door and went downstairs. We messaged the letting agency and after some time, were instructed to go and wake the family up to find out who they were. We were reluctant to do this as it was nearly 1am at this point. The letting agency eventually phones us and says that we needed to wake the people up as they can't do anything else until we do. We wake the family up, and they had mistakenly arrived at our apartment and thought it was theirs - they were renting the flat upstairs. We were told to take the flat upstairs, which was smaller and the letting agency woukd deal with it in the morning, it was nearly 3.30am at this point. The phone rang at 8am, with the letting agency telling us that they had spoken to the people in our flat and that they needed to move out and swap flats. No cleaning, in between, no changing of sheets on beds etc. When this was questioned the letting agency said to take the bedding that we had slept in and take it downstairs and vice versa with the other family. Still no cleaning could be done. We eventually stayed in the smaller flat until the next day, agreeing with the agent that they would clean the flat then. They did not. The key codes were the same for both flats and never changed.
