Summary:
PLEASE READ THE ADVERT CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING :-)
It is a fully renovated house (April 2019). It's comfortable, very clean, private, quiet and a perfect base for a great holiday on the French Riviera!
This is our home and when we don't rent it, we live here (my husband and I and our two young children, as well as 2 outdoor cats and 3 chickens!)
When we rent the house to you, the cats and chickens will be under your care (very basic) so you must be ok with that (see more details in advert).
The Space:
The house is 160 sqm and has two floors. The living area, kitchen, Bedroom 4 and one bathroom (+ toilet) are on the ground floor (entrance level). The three other bedrooms, second bathroom (+ toilet) and laundry room are on the -1 floor which is actually the garden level as the house is built on a small hill.
The kitchen opens up to the terrace and is facing south so we get lots of sun from morning to late afternoon. To make it more comfortable, we have several roll up blinds to provide shade at different times of day.
It is very pleasant because there is always a small breeze (being on top of a hill) so it's great to eat outside from breakfast to dinner. We do get mosquitoes here in the summer but it's usually mainly only between 6pm and 8pm (mosquito repellent will be provided).
The kitchen is fully fitted with a big Fridge, Big Freezer compartment, Dishwasher, Oven, Microwave, Blender, Nespresso coffee machine, Kettle and of course enough crockery and glasses for a party of 8 people to cook family meals every day!
The living room is bright and has a very nice view over the village of La Colle sur Loup, the TV is quite small (we don't watch it) but has access to Netflix (you need your own Netflix account) as well as the full package of French and some international TV channels.
The living area is equipped with an AC unit and has a nice view over the village of La Colle sur Loup and the garden.
The 4th bedroom is upstairs, on the same level as the living area. It is also equipped with an AC unit, has lots of storage and a queen size bed (160 x 200cm).
The lower level is accessed via the stairs located in the kitchen. Each bedroom is between 17 to 20 sqm so they are pretty spacious and they are all equipped with electric shutters (fully dark at night), AC units and mosquito nets on windows.
Make sure to always keep the stairs' door closed so no sneaky mosquitoes can go down and bother you at night!
There is also plenty of storage space to unpack your clothes and belongings during your holiday.
This is how the bedrooms are set up:
Bedroom 1(with blue wall): Queen size bed (160cm x 200cm)
Bedroom 2 (with kaki color wall): One Single bed (90cm x 190cm) + 1 sofa bed (140cm x 190cm) (sofa not seen on picture)
Bedroom 3 (with pink wall): One Single bed (90cm x 190cm)
It's perfect for a family with 4 children, or for 4 adults and 4 children.
Having two young children, we will provide a selection of toys and books (in french and english), and children can also enjoy the wooden cabin in the garden as well as the little slide we will set up by the pool :-)
We can also provide a wooden cot (60cm x 120cm) with a good mattress as well as a high chair (on demand). Just tell us where you want the cot to be built and we will take care of it for you.
The pool is equipped with an alarm for the safety of your children. When the pool is being used and supervised by an adult, the alarm must be deactivated.
The pool is heated between 15 May to 30 June (it's 28 - 30 degrees celsius naturally in July/ August) and is salted (for natural salt chlorination) which is less harsh for eyes, hair and skin than chlorinated pools.
The 'pool house' has a shower with warm water, a toilet and a sink so that is basically our 3rd bathroom.
The charcoal barbecue can be set up and used in the parking area. A bag of charcoal will be provided.
We have an electric gate at the entrance of the property and one car can be parked inside easily (in front of the garage). There is a second parking space just outside the gate if needed. The area is safe so parking outside is not a problem.
Now some Important things to know:
MID STAY CLEAN (included in the rental price)
Mid-stay cleaning is included and is mandatory.
Our cleaners will come mid stay to change the towels (bed sheets are only changed on the 7th day if you stay for 14 nights or more)).
It's not a full cleaning but she will empty the bins, clean the bathrooms and toilets as well as the kitchen. During this time she will also take care of our vegetable garden and refill the food dispensers for cats and chicken.
If you stay for 2 weeks, our trusted cleaner will also come every 3 days for 30min to take care of our pets and vegetable garden. We can agree a suitable time and day for her to stop by but this is important for us to ensure our pets have everything they need and to avoid bothering you with their care.
CATS
The cats are pretty low maintenance. They have a cat flap on the front door and they live mostly outside but close the door of the rooms you don't want them in. They have food dispensers that will be refilled during the mid-stay clean, and we would ask that you refill their water every morning. Apart from that they are self-sufficient and social if you give them attention.
CHICKENS
We have a chicken house at the back of house, they give eggs every day, and the door of their hutch opens and closes automatically to ensure their safety at night. Their food will be refilled during the mid-stay clean but we would ask that you refill their water every day as it does get hot in the summer.
Of course don't forget to collect the eggs when you go to refill their water :-)
VEGETABLE GARDEN
I love to grow vegetables, I grow everything from seeds and it's a real passion for me. I hope to be self sufficient for our family needs in the next few years!
Because it takes lots of effort and time to grow all these vegetables, I would ask you to respect it and to avoid touching any of the plants during your stay.
A basket with fresh and organic vegetables will be left for you on arrival (only in July/ August)
Of course you can use the fresh herbs from the garden (thyme, rosemary, mint...).
The Neighborhood:
The house is located in the village of La Colle sur Loup, 20min drive from Nice airport, a 3min drive to Saint Paul de Vence and a 10min drive to the beach in Villeneuve Loubet/Cagnes sur Mer.
There is a big supermarket 2 min drive away as well as an organic shop, Butcher, Fruit & Veg shop, and 2 great bakeries also less than 2min drive away!
There are also several amusement parks less than 10min drive for children of all ages and we will provide you information about that.
The location is ideal as you are not in the busy city center of Nice, Cannes, or Antibes, but you will be close enough to visit all three cities or even spend the day in Monaco but be back in the peace and quiet each evening :-)
Getting Around:
It is best to have a car but you can also reach our house by public transport. You will need to take a bus that stops in the village of La Colle-sur-Loup and walk for about 10min.
More instructions on how to get here will be sent closer to arrival :-)

I am an experienced host on AirBnB since I run a holiday rental company in Nice. I will make sure that you have everything you need for a relaxing stay.
