We did the Honolulu Marathon, the location to the staging area and the finish line were most important to us. It was right across the street. Will definitely consider renting for next year's marathon again.
We arrived real late at night & had issues accessing the fob. Contacted the manager & he walked us through how to access the fob. The code we had received was wrong. He stayed on the line until we got in the apartment. Studio was close to the beach & all activities.
I stayed here with my husband and 2 children (8,5) for a week and it was great! The host was very responsive the entire time. The room was very clean when i arrived. It was plenty big enough for all of us. It was also perfect walking distance down to the kiddy part of the ocean. It was a great vacation!!! I will definetly stay here again:) the kids also had fun gecko watching and snail hunting here!
We were really happy with our stay. The apartment had everything that we needed and the location is great. The bed is comfortable and it is nice to have a big fridge. It is not a modern luxurious apartment so if that is what you want then you might not be happy. Security was good though with gated entry. There are more luxurious apartments towards Ala Moana, but with those the location is less good. For the location though this was good value. We would be happy to stay here again.
Pros: Centrally located. Easy to get to. Owner responded quickly to my messages. Clean with plenty of towels.
Cons: Noisy neighborhood. Plug covers in bedroom need proper securing.
Everything was as shown in pictures. The only complaint
is that the trendle bed is impossible to set on and enjoy relaxing. A chair would be very helpful.
The management was very responsive. The unit was clean with a patio to sit outside on. It was just a short block to the beach and very close to Diamond Head and Koko Head, with easy access to the freeway.
Pluses:
Updated bathroom
Location
Price
Bed comfortable
Misses
Some Mini blinds damaged
Bedroom ceiling fan noisy needs replaced
Stove needs repaired beeps if circuit breaker on
Parking available but process confusing and someone will park in your space when gone. Process needs to be fixed. Buy orange cone. It was a big hassle. Hard to get a hold of management to correct bad process.
I stayed there 11 days with my wife and 2 kids. We travel a lot and like the the convenience of a home like place vs a hotel. Place was very cramp unlike what I saw on picture. Itâs not a one bedroom like advertised but basically a studio with a screen to separate the bed from the kitchen. The bed screen doesnât really work and the window screens were basically broken with missing pieces so a lot of lights come through. I know Waikiki isnât suppose to be quiet but itâs next to another noisy big condo, food vendors right outside your building and homeless people that basically camp out in front of your building 24/7 so it was fairly noisy.
They rent out part of their parking to a business that essentially uses parking lot to charge their fleet of electric cars. He would essentially park in your spot when you arenât around. I thought once was bad enough but during our 11 days there we would come back 3 times and one of cars was in our parking spot that we paid extra for.
There were ants and the first thing my wife noted was a lot of dust everywhere like they only clean certain part of the condo. Place has a couch/bed so we thought it would be perfect for our 2 kids. First night we looked everywhere and couldnât find blankets for the extra beds. We reached out to the manager and got no response. Wife also tried and still nothing. After a couple of days we basically had no toilet papers, paper towels, dish washing soap, shower soaps so we again reached out to manager. I think after 3-4 days he finally responded that basically that this isnât a hotel where they stock it for your whole stay, which was 11 days. He told us they only stock for 2 days of stay and if we want those things we should go buy them. Really? Never had that response before anywhere we have ever stayed at. He said he would have maid bring blankets and dishing washing soap. I told my wife they are only supply soap so we have to wash their dishes. Blankets and soap never came so we essentially went to walmart to buy essentials and blankets so all 4 of us didnât have to sleep in one bed to share the blankets.
After our stay we were pretty upset so we took all the stuff and blankets we bought and gave it to the homeless people outside so that this crummy place wouldnât get any benefit from us having to basically supply ourselves of essentials. I rarely write reviews but felt obligated to so that people are at least can be aware unlike us.
When I go home to Hawaii I spend every morning on the beach with a cup of hot coffee. There is a Starbucks around the corner and ABC stores on my walk to the beach. The location of this property is perfect and you couldnât ask for a better price for what you get. Laundry facility is on the property (pay by the load) as well as very affordable parking. Itâs a clean comfortable place with all of the necessary amenities. I would absolutely stay here again.
Awesome location, free gated parking, free internet. The person who met us at the property was very nice and helpful as well. Our only real complaint was about the curtains. There is a walkway light right outside the unit and it is VERY bright at night. There is one section of the living room that has no curtain... the person sleeping in the living room had to use an eye mask. We eventually put up a dark towel using rubber bands, which helped a lot. The curtain in the bedroom also does not block the light out completely, but it wasn't as bad as the living room.
The room is not fancy, but neither is the price, and we really enjoyed our stay. I hope they fix the curtain situation - it wouldn't be that difficult to address. We'd definitely consider staying there again. There were also things like a pack n play and beach chairs in the closet, which was cool. Having access to laundry was also very convenient.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay
Pros: location was great, easy to get to the beach. We felt safe during our stay, (aside from the ballistic missile threat! Luckily it was a false alarm). Shopping a plenty. Near bus stops and biki bike stations. Parking stall is a big plus. Bed was clean and comfortable.
Cons: storage for food and clothes was minimal. There wasnt many places to hang towels or swimsuits, so they just end up all over. The kitchen supplies was pretty skimpy. The couch/trundle bed feels like a box spring. It can get a little noisy at night being close to the bars and whatnot, but not horrible. We had some confusion as to who we were supposed to communicate with. We'd contact the owner, but he'd direct us to the agency. But the agency would direct us back to the owner. We were able to get things figured out, but just something to work on.
For a simple, no frills place, it's good. The parking is really the headliner for this place. I would just suggest the owner/agency take in to consideration those little details that make a stay go from just ok, to great.
:)
This condo was clean and cozy - perfect for 2 or 3 people. We especially appreciated the gated parking spot, the laundry facilities, and the convenient location. And the host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
