Maggie's Place - a family break that sleeps 5 guests in 2 bedrooms

A beautifully designed two-bedroom property, thoughtfully finished with great attention to detail to create a warm and inviting home-from-home experience.

The house has its own private entrance on Smales Street, just a short 5 minute walk from the heart of the city centre and train station. Also just a short walk to the popular Bishopthorpe Road (Bishy Road) area with its independent bars, restaurants and shops.

Upon entering there is a cosy sitting room complete with electric fire, TV and a sofa bed. Walking through here leads into the main living area where you will find an open plan lounge, dining area and contemporary kitchen.

The lounge features a wall mounted LCD Smart TV. There's dining seating to accommodate 4 for dinner too.

The kitchen is very stylish and features a breakfast bar to seat 2, dishwasher and washer dryer together with quartz worktops. There's also an Amazon Alexa device for your convenience.

At the rear of the kitchen is the house bathroom complete with walk in shower. There's also a lovely outdoor patio at the rear of the patio with Indian stone paving and outdoor seating for 4. Spare seating can also be found in the cupboard under the stairs for use at the dining table or on the patio.

Moving upstairs there are both bedrooms. The master has a super king bed. The second bedroom is a king size bed. Both bedrooms have wall mounted Smart TV's and dressing tables.

Although there is no parking with the property, there is a local car park very close by. Please enquire for details.

Central but quiet

Excellent accommodation less than 10 min walk to the city centre. For such a central property the street was quiet. The property was beautifully decorated and the beds lovely and comfortable. We took our small dog who felt right at home. Would highly recommend and will be back. Only downside is no parking outside but this didn’t bother us as we came by train and again train station was 10 min walk away.

Location location location

We really enjoyed our short stay in Maggie's Place. It was the perfect location for exploring all that York has to offer and the house itself is v well equipped and ideal for our group of five. We loved that we could bring our cavapoo with us and my daughter had a brilliant birthday there. Thank you!

Excellent accommodation, the only thing I would pick up on is not enough toilet rolls for the length of our stay and some more washing up liquid. had to buy bleach and kitchen roll but other than than that no faults at all we will definitely be staying here again , that was our 4th stay there

Great location .

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Maggie's place. Couldn't have asked for anymore. The house was beautiful. A lovely hamper was left for us which was very thoughtful. Would highly recommend Maggie's place to anyone. Would like to come back someday . Location was ideal.

Far Exceeded My Expectations

I had a fantastic stay at Maggie's Place! The place was very well furnished and modernized, with a sleek design that made it feel both comfortable and stylish. Everything was nice and tidy, which made it easy to settle in and relax. The instructions for the stay were clear and well communicated, making the entire experience hassle-free. A special highlight was the thoughtful care package of local goods, which added a beautiful touch and made me feel truly welcome. A great stay!

Thanks so much for a great stay! Clean, comfortable, brilliant location for getting around York. The parking wasn’t an issue at all, but there is always ample on-street parking outside the house, so would be beneficial to provide a permit if able. The NCP car park is only a few mins walk away in any case so no big deal. We were a family of 4 with a small dog. Maggie’s Place was super comfortable and we appreciated the downstairs space for separate TV watching in the evenings! Beautifully tasteful quality furnishings (which is hard to find when you have a dog!) and a fab rear terrace for some outdoor space. All in all, we had an amazing stay and have already recommended to others!

Excellent Clean & Cozy Property with Amazing Location and Amenties

We spent four nights at Maggies Place in York during our recent family trip, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is superb, just a 15-minute walk from York Train Station and conveniently close to all city center attractions. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, including a Sainsbury Local and Tesco Express. Despite being centrally located, the neighborhood was quiet, making it ideal for our stay in York. The property itself was outstanding. It was immaculately clean, tastefully furnished with quality pieces, and adorned with beautiful decorations. Inside, it felt modern with excellent amenities like reliable WiFi, TVs in both the living room and bedrooms, and incredibly comfortable beds with crisp linens. The kitchen was a highlight, equipped with modern appliances including a hob, dishwasher, washer with dryer, microwave, fridge with freezer, oven, and all necessary cookware. The bathrooms featured heated flooring, and there was a lovely outdoor seating area as well. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a thoughtful welcome package including sparkling wine, local crisps, and candies—a nice touch that added to our enjoyment of the stay. The only drawback was the single bathroom, which, despite having exhaust fans, could become odorous at times. It was on the smaller side and might pose challenges for elderly guests due to its layout. However, the presence of air fresheners helped mitigate this issue. Overall, our experience at Maggies Place was exceptional. The combination of its stellar cleanliness and unbeatable location made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. We encountered no issues and would eagerly return in the future. Highly recommended.

Perfect location! Perfect vacation!

This lovely little home is beautifully decorated in a modern style and is equipped with all the amenities you could want. A lovely welcome box of local treats made for a great first impression. Checking in was quick and easy after a short walk from the train station. We easily walked to all the major York attractions. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and award it 5 stars!

Very clean and comfortable, smart tv’s in every room, wifi, looks new inside. Very nice.

Easy to book with clear instructions on using parking etc. Clean and comfortable. Near to town and attractions- 5 minutes walk to town. Parking is outside the property but street is very narrow and a bit tricky at times but we always had a space, nothing to worry about just nice to know beforehand. We had a lovely break at Maggie’s Place.
