Magnifique appartement de 2 chambres en centre-ville avec vue imprenable, récemment rénové à un niveau très élevé, le 10 Stonegate Court est un joyau caché dans le cœur animé de la ville. Accueillant 4 personnes dans 2 chambres doubles bien aménagées, l'espace de vie décloisonné dispose d'une baie vitrée et d'un petit balcon avec vue sur York Minster. Une grande terrasse privée avec salle à manger pour 6 personnes partant de la chambre principale, idéale pour les repas d'été ou le café du matin. L'appartement dispose d'une machine à café Nespresso.

Perfect city centre pad for exploring

It’s probably one of the best located apartments in York with open views from balconies and both the master bedroom and the Living room area looking over Yorkminster’s rose window. Perfectly located next to loads of shops, pubs and restaurants. The master bathroom had a broken shower and that was the only issue we had during the weekend. To top it off the apartment came with a car parking pass, which as you can imagine, is a pretty rare thing in a mediaeval city. ! We will definitely look to book this apartment again, we had a great weekend with a perfect base for exploring the city.

Location is wonderful

This property is managed by a company & maybe that’s the issue. The location is wonderful but upkeep items seem to be ignored. Both showers leak onto the floors & both drains are very stopped up-we ended up standing in 2 to 3 inches of water. The bottom rack of the dishwasher is missing all its wheels so you have to pick up the rack each time to load and then insert back into the dishwasher to operate. We reported the drains, and the receptionist at the company acted like she’d heard it all before. All that said, if you want to be close to the Minster this apartment is good. Just don’t expect that it’s offered by an owner who takes pride in the place.

Great location and beautiful spacious accommodation

We stayed at flat 10 Stonegate York for a short break with a couple of friends. The location was perfect, central yet quiet and everything was on our doorstep. Parking for one car was via a permit at a 6 -8 minute walk away. The Flat was very spacious and extremely clean. It was pretty well appointed too. The only 2 things I would note: a non- slip shower mat in the ensuite would have been useful and a table or dressing table in the main bedroom too. Otherwise the beds were extremely comfy, lovely sheets and very warm and cosy throughout. The other added benefits were the 2 outside spaces, a large patio and a small balcony. Didn't use them in December but would have been great in summer, especially with such a great view of the Minster. Would definitely book again.

Lovely stay

We had a great stay at StoneGate. Myself and my partner too my in laws for a few nights stay, everything was right on our doorstep. Apartment had everything we needed. Would definitely book again.

A great located, clean and comfortable apartment

Amazing location in the centre of town, minister, dungeon, museum and other attraction in walking distance and surrounded by plenty of great restaurants! Clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Parking space is included in stay but it is about a 10 min walk away from the apartment so keep this in mind. Would definitely book again!

Really great accomodation, right in the heart of York.

Loved this place. Comfortable, clean, spacious. The wee terrace out the back was an extra plus, the sun hit it around midday, it was lovely to sit out and have a late breakfast or afternoon tea. Despite being so central, it was very quiet. Would definitely go back again.

Short stay in York

Lovely apartment overlooking York minster . Very modern and contemporary with all mod cons. When we arrived we had a lovely little hamper from stays of York . This contained a few essentials and some local luxury items . Very nice indeed. There were four of us so ideal with double room each . Few issues were the first room had no mirror . So difficult with makeup etc . There was one in bathroom but this steamed up after use . The en-suite room had a mirror but this was not near a plug so difficult to see when drying hair . There is no parking but the stays York lady advised us of times and places to unload etc . Very central and it was lovely to just come downstairs and out into the busy street . Plenty of cafes, bars shops on your doorstep. We wanted to stay longer !!

10 Stonegate

This accommodation is a modern flat in a residential complex; be aware of it but don’t let it put you off. It should be mentioned that it’s not in Stonegate, rather that’s the name of the complex and you enter it from Blake St - after the initial surprise, again don’t let that put you off. It’s city centre with all the pro’s and cons that brings, but it’s ideal for ignoring the car for the entire time you’re there and walking the walls, eating in the restaurants and drinking in the pubs! The flat was spotlessly clean and well equipped for our 4 day stay; it has a secure entry to the flats and a lift should it be required, and the views of the Minster from the small front balcony were a beautiful backdrop to breakfast and lunch. Yes the space below is - actually what is it?! - overgrown with vegetation, but it’s so overgrown it just looks like a wild garden and certainly wasn't off putting. Accept that it’s a modern city centre flat and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Lastly, a word for Stays York - they helped us out in a difficult situation and tweaked the dates of our stay - many thanks for your flexibility!

Great Location for sightseeing

This apartment was fabulous. Great views of York Minster and very close to the centre. Was very spacious and well equipped and very safe. There is a lift to the first floor. We had a small balcony overlooking York Minster and another larger one off the main bedroom. Would definitely use again. We parked in Marygate car park, it’s about a 10minute walk.

Week stay

The apartment is in a great location and is very well appointed. Overall we were very happy with it however there were a few issues. 1. The drains need flushing out properly. The shower tray in the en suite overflowed when used. The shower over the bath in the main bathroom also filled up and did not drain properly. The en suite issue was partially fixed during our stay but got worse again by the end of the week. 2. Overall cleanliness was very good but the patio areas need sorting. The small balcony area was filthy and the larger terrace area was in danger of becoming overun with weeds. 3. Be prepared for noise. It is centrally located and we heard raucous shouting and screaming most nights until the early hours. Presumably all the awful stag and hen parties that would normally plague Eastern European cities have had to adapt to Covid and are staying home to ruin our cities instead. 4. Be prepared for noise from the flat above. Obviously hard flooring as we could hear them clattering about half the night as though they were in our bedroom. 5. Beware parking. One of our party used the parking permit given by York Stays to park in local car park. When they came to leave they were told the permit was for residents only and shouldn't be used by tourists and short stay guests. They had to pay to get out the car park. 6. Key collection and drop off is a faff. 7. The main entrance is an attraction for local down and outs to congregate to drink, smoke and sleep over night.

Lovely apartment in the heart of the city.

Spacious apartment in a great location. Lovely patio area which gets the sun late afternoon into the evening (in July). Observations - would have liked more drawers in the main bedroom, especially as we were there for 9 nights. I reported that 1 bedside light and the handheld shower head in the main bedroom/en suite didn’t work. Hopefully they’ve been sorted. Great to be in the centre of the city but be aware the church bells start ringing at 8am. The view of the Minster from the small balcony is lovely, only spoiled by the overgrown courtyard below. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.

Amazing location and spacious but check in is a palaver

Top marks for location. The property looks exactly as it is presented in the photos. It’s surprisingly quiet given that the entrance is on a busy street. What I hadn’t realised was how much of a faff it would be to check in and check out. To check in, you need to go to the Stays York office, pick up the key and parking permit for the car. However there is nowhere to park, so I left my husband on a double yellow line to race into the office. Then it’s a 10 minute walk from the car park to the flat — which isn’t too bad unless you have luggage. Pack light! Checking out we were asked to leave the parking permit in the flat, but return the keys to the office. This meant bringing our luggage to the car (10 min walk), returning to the flat to deposit the parking permit (10 min walk), then walking to the office to leave the keys. There was an issue with the shower in the en-suite, which we raised but there wasn’t really enough time to fix it. We were only there for three nights. Finally, in this age of Covid, I was surprised to see there was plenty of Fairy liquid but no hand soap in the kitchen! All in all, a fantastic apartment centrally located but I expected more given how much we were paying.

A lovely quiet apartment with an excellent location

This is a spacious 2 apartment with lovely views of the Minster. It is positioned right in the centre of the city and yet as it is in a court of apartments, set back from city streets, it is quiet and peaceful. It is comfortably furnished and well equipped. The only downside is that it takes a bit of planning to get your luggage in and out of the flat as you can only pull up in front of the entrance to the flat complex in the evening (after 8 pm currently). There is a drop off point a few minutes walk away from the flat. Overall I would recommend the apartment wholeheartedly, we had a lovely stay.

Disappointed with several aspects of the property

There are a few items needing attention: Stale smell of smoked tobacco needs to be addressed Safety chain on front door needs replacing Some crockery chipped More crockery and cutlery needed for 4 person stay to avoid constant use of dishwasher Dishwasher needs salt replenished Both outside areas were filthy on arrival And had not been looked after for weeks but were addressed during first couple of days Fridge freezer badly iced up - suspect needs defrosting No mirror in second bedroom. No mirror in any room near socket for use with hairdryer Some electric sockets in second bedroom obstructed by wardrobe Electric hob filthy with baked on dirt Floor lamp in lounge Inoperable - has broken bulb in the fitting Front door very tight in the frame often needing it to be banged to lock it. Not impressed with service provided by Domestic Divas but that could be communication problem with Stays I would not recommend this property at the present until most of the above Items have been addressed There was confusion and misunderstanding in Stays office about Both the car parking facilities booked but we eventually obtained satisfaction

A wonderful stay in my favourite city

10 Stonegate is a lovely, clean and quiet apartment with comfortable beds and beautiful views of York Minster right in the heart of the city. We had a wonderful holiday there. More cutlery would be appreciated by future guests.
