À propos de cet hébergement
Tumbling Banks - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
Tumbling Banks has it all! The outdoor swimming pool (available 1st June – 31st August, for a small additional charge) is perfect for cooling off on a sunny day. If you fancy a game of tennis, just let us know in advance, and you can enjoy a match on the tennis court.
Nature lovers will feel right at home at Kirkland Farm, which is carefully managed by Clive and Faith Sinclair to encourage wildlife and biodiversity. In the warmer months, the hills are bursting with life, from seven types of wild orchids to rolling carpets of bluebells in June. The farm is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including roe deer, badgers, foxes, hares, voles, and even visiting otters. Birdwatchers can look out for swallows arriving from South Africa in April and heading back in September, along with plenty of other woodland species.
We're thrilled to announce that Tumbling Banks now welcomes dogs to join you during your stay! With miles of scenic trails and beautiful open countryside to explore, you and your furry companion will have plenty of opportunities for long, leisurely walks together. Whether you're taking a peaceful morning stroll or embarking on an afternoon adventure, the serene surroundings provide the perfect setting for you and your pet to enjoy quality time outdoors. To ensure the comfort of all guests and animals on the property, we kindly ask that dogs be kept under control, especially due to the cottage's location within the yard. This helps maintain a peaceful environment for everyone. We can't wait to welcome you and your four-legged friend!
If you're a horse owner, you're in luck! We offer stabling for guests' horses, access to more than 30 cross-country jumps, a menage, and miles of near-traffic-free hacking routes straight from the farm. Whether you're a keen rider or just enjoy watching horses, you'll love meeting our two resident characters, Joey and Houdini.
For those who enjoy fishing, we offer coarse fishing for perch and pike on the farm's waters. A £20 permit gives you unlimited fishing during your stay, making it a perfect way to unwind and connect with nature.
For those who love the great outdoors, there are footpaths leading straight from the cottage through Kirkland Farm, offering easy access to the stunning Dalbeattie Woodlands. This area is home to the famous 7Stanes Mountain Biking Trails and a network of beautiful forest walks, perfect for both casual strolls and adrenaline-filled adventures.
Just a short walk away, you'll find Rockcliffe Beach, an ideal spot for a seaside stroll. From here, you can take in breathtaking coastal views, explore scenic cliffside walks, or follow the Jubilee Path to the charming sailing village of Kippford. The local area is packed with opportunities for outdoor pursuits, whether it's hiking, biking, or simply enjoying the fresh Scottish air.
Tumbling Banks is also committed to sustainable living, with a 5kW wind turbine and solar panels supplementing our mains electricity. You can enjoy your holiday knowing that you're staying somewhere that respects and preserves the environment.
Finally, no farm stay would be complete without meeting the locals! Our land is home to a friendly fold of cows, a flock of sheep, and plenty of other farmyard characters. Whether you're here for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, Tumbling Banks offers the perfect countryside escape.
