Bathurst Mews II is a delightful two-bedroom mews house in Paddington. Whether you are travelling on business or visiting the city for a family holiday, this charming abode offers a peaceful, comfortable retreat from the bustling streets outside. Just a short walk from the doorstep is Hyde Park, where you can enjoy scenic strolls and even a picnic if the sun is shining.:
Close by the mews are two riding stables. The hoofbeats of horses on the cobbled streets can often be heard during the day - quite a lovely sound, and certainly something you don’t usually expect to hear in the city.
The homeowner has created a warm and welcoming space that strikes a wonderful balance of classic and contemporary. Inside, a glass spiral staircase connects both levels of the mews house. On the lower level is an open-plan living and dining room, its modern amenities contrasted by the baroque paintings on the walls - a touch of traditional elegance.:
Large windows allow the natural sunlight to pour through, creating a bright and airy room to unwind in before heading out to explore the city. The fireplace is perfect for cosying up around on cooler nights, as you sink into one of the comfy sofas or Chesterfield armchairs.
When it’s time to get a good night’s rest, you have the choice of two bedroom suites. The master bedroom has a beautiful Antoinette bed and a private ensuite bathroom with a traditional clawfoot tub.:
The second bedroom has a modern four-poster bed. A beautiful flower mural encompasses an entire wall, a bold contrast to the whitewashed walls and furnishings elsewhere.
Home Truths:
- This home doesn't have air-conditioning. Between june and september, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period.
- This home is spread over three floors with no internal elevator.
- The space on either side of the bed in the second bedroom is very narrow.
- There are two horse stables located on the mews that the home is situated on and some noise will be heard from inside the home, including the second bedroom which shares a wall with one of the stables. Due to this close proximity, occasionally there may be an aroma from the stables around the home, however the horses won't be in residence between mid july and early september each year.
- While pets are welcome in this home, an extra cleaning fee will be added to your booking. Please speak to our sales advisers for information.
- The ceiling in the utility room is lower than normal – under six feet high.
- There is parking on request at this home, which if available can be pre-arranged. Please speak to our sales advisors if you wish to enquire about the space.
- Please note this property requires full payment for the stay prior to check-in, guests will receive a message from the property with a secure payment link after booking. The lead guest must be at least 25 years old, we will check the lead guest’s I.D. and secure a £1,000 hold on a credit or debit card which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.
