à propos de cet hébergement
High-quality bolthole and cosy sanctuary for 2 people in a picturesque village location with WiFi.
Ivy Cottage is a charming, stone-built self-catering holiday cottage in the heart of a small, picturesque village called Langthwaite in Arkengarthdale, just 3 miles from Reeth and within the spectacular Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Ivy Cottage has been transformed through recent renovations into a high-quality bolthole and cosy sanctuary for two people. The sympathetic renovation has retained much of the original character and features such as exposed beams and a stone wall. Yet it still offers contemporary appliances and furnishings for modern day living and a true home from home experience.
This extremely welcoming holiday cottage offers everything you need for a relaxing stay and is surprisingly spacious for a one-bedroom property. Every nook and cranny bursts with a creative mix of old and new. You enter the good sized living room with dining area. The focal point is no doubt the multi-fuel stove situated in a stunning inglenook fireplace in the centre of the room. Not only does it look fabulous, the stove throws out the heat when lit, creating a warm and cosy ambiance to unwind on the comfy sofa.
Off the living room, down a couple of steps, is the quaint and traditional cottage kitchen with an Aga. Packed full of quality cooking equipment, thereâs also plenty of storage space for your own supplies and the additional bonus of a full-size fridge and freezer.
Upstairs is the real treat. A spacious bedroom with a sumptuous king bed, beautiful soft furnishings and views to the village and the fells beyond. Off the bedroom is the high quality, modernised ensuite bathroom with bath and shower over.
This stunning holiday home is heated throughout by modern electric radiators, includes free, unlimited Wi-Fi and a 43â smart TV. There is a small, enclosed patio area to the front of the cottage to enjoy a glass of wine of a summer evening or a coffee first thingâŠno better place to hear the song of the birds and the babble of the not-so-distant stream known as Arkle Beck.
Off the patio there is a secure, covered bike store, which is spacious with plenty of room for two bikes. There is a hose nearby to keep your bikes squeaky clean, heating in the bike store to dry your bikes off and electric sockets for electric bike charging. The bike store also doubles up as a drying room for outdoor walking gear.
Although the cottage caters for modern needs, be prepared to be thrown back in time, in this oldy worldly village. âAll Creatures Great and Smallâ fans will no doubt recognise the village and surrounding areas as lots of the original series was filmed in the areaâŠand it really hasnât changed a bit!
If you enjoy a tipple or two in a real Yorkshire pub, you are in luck. One of the smallest and most unique pubs in the area is a short hop, skip and a jump from Ivy Cottage. The landlady is a fountain of knowledge on the area and serves some fantastic real Yorkshire Ale. The award-winning CB Inn is around a 10 to 15-minute walk from the accommodation, which offers gastro style meals, real Yorkshire ales and an extensive wine and gin menu.
The location is fantastic, with great walking, running and cycling straight from the doorstep. The area is full of the remains of the lead mining industry, walks to suit all abilities from high level hikes up Fremington Edge or Calver Hill to low level strolls along the Arkle Beck. There really is so much to do and enjoy.
The market towns of Richmond, Leyburn and Hawes, and attractions, including the famous Aysgarth Falls, Wensleydale Creamery,The Bowes Museum and Bolton Castle are all within a short, glorious drive away.
Parking is available in the village on a first come first serve basis but we would ask you to respect the needs of local people and park in the local car park three minutes walk away once you have unloaded. The cottage comes with a parking permit so you do not incur any additional expense.
To ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, included in the rental fee is â luxury bed linen and towels and electricity. Initial fuel for the fire is included and there is an honesty box to pay for further supplies.
The cottage comes with a welcome basket of Yorkshire treats and basics so you donât need to think about bringing all those with you.
