Stony Thwaite Cottage – Your Cosy Escape in the Heart of Swaledale
Tucked away in the peaceful village of Reeth, Stony Thwaite Cottage offers the perfect mix of traditional Yorkshire charm and modern comfort. With breathtaking views of Fremington Edge and access to miles of stunning countryside, it’s an ideal base for walking, cycling, or simply unwinding in the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales.
Sleeping up to 5 guests across three thoughtfully styled bedrooms – one king, one double, and one single – the cottage is ideal for families, couples, or small groups. The welcoming stone-built home features a cosy firelit lounge, a well-equipped kitchen, fast WiFi, a Smart TV with streaming services, and oil-fired central heating for year-round comfort.
With a fully enclosed garden, secure bike storage, private parking, and a handy utility room, it’s perfectly set up for outdoor adventures. And best of all, the cottage happily accepts up to two well-behaved dogs, so your four-legged friends can join the fun too.
Just a short walk from Reeth’s friendly pubs, village shops, and cafes – and within easy reach of Richmond, Hawes, and Leyburn – Stony Thwaite Cottage is your ideal home-from-home for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

Getting there
By road: Take the A1 as far as Scotch Corner, turn off to Richmond and take A6108, then B6270 to Reeth. At the top of Reeth turn right between the Buck Hotel and public toilets signposted Langthwaite and Barnard Castle. Follow the road for 100 metres and you will see a right turn Hill Close. Stony Thwaite is directly opposite the entrance to Hill Close.
By Public Transport: The nearest train station is Darlington. You will then need to get a taxi to Reeth.
