The Round House was a really great place to stay - light, comfortable, warm, clean and cosy. It's a really interesting and atrractive building in a quiet location but helpfully near towns and shops that are an easy drive away. Beautiful views and garden. Spent a lovely long weekend with friends, great views, comfortable (although could do with another easy chair) and close to lots of attractions & watering holes! Would recommend.

Wonderful location and great property for a family

Quiet, beautiful place, lovely house. Pool is a great bonus. Definitely need a car to have a good vacation in this house. Rather remote place from all activities.

Lovely property ideally located

The round house was great for us - we really appreciated multiple bathrooms, a secluded adult bedroom downstairs, and a spacious living area with nice touches like blankets to make it feel cosy. The kitchen is small, but the extra larger fridge and freezer in the hall made it suitable for a longer stay; on holiday we only cook simple things, so didn't need a big cooking area. We found the location perfect for reaching lots of places easily, and had a fab few days there.

Wonderful property

Everything was just perfect. Fabulous location, rural but not off the beaten track. Very easy check in, beautifully clean and very comfortable. The outside space was perfect for the BBQ and for our three year old to run around in. The pool was just the right temperature and very clean. Excellent communication from Izzy the host. Well worth a visit!

Highly recommend this beautifully located cottage. Host very prompt at responding to queries before our trip. Lovely to wake up to such gorgeous views. Ideally situated for the best that Derbyshire has to offer, including Chatsworth, Heights of Abraham & Bakewell! Dear Catherine, Thank you so much for your lovely comments - very much appreciated - The Round House really is in a magical spot being so close to Chatsworth and Bakewell. I am afraid that we can't get fibre optic super-fast broadband in such a rural location - but it is reliable and good to use. Beautiful house

Lovely house in peaceful surroundings, a deer came to visit us and there were about 6 hares in the field next to us. Fairly dark skies so stars were very visible on a clear night. My grandson loved the pool, we had both properties for the weekend so didn’t have to share. Shirley the owner and Lucky the cat were both lovely. Would happily visit again.

A home away from home

We stayed in this place for 3 nights and 4 days. We have a wonderful stay, the place is spectacular, very clean from towels to bedsheets. The kitchen is complete and the utensils are very clean. The surroundings is quiet and peaceful, if you love nature then this is the right place for you. There's loads of walking trails. We also enjoyed the pool. Highly recommended. The hosts is mindful and the communication was good. Satisfied guests.. Dopeno family❤️

Amazing property and location

What an amazing place. We also rented Woodside Cottage and so we had the indoor pool to ourselves. Kids absolutely loved it and it was a godsend on the days when weather not so great. Communication with Izzy spot on and she was very helpful and friendly. Properties were both excellent - well equipped, only negative was size of kitchen in the Round House, but we enjoyed the challenge. The views are stunning and the properties had the added bonus of a mini golf course as part of the 9 acre garden. I’m sure we’ll be back

A beautiful property!

This place was just great for our family getaway. The location is idyllic, with the most amazing countryside views and set in a vast garden. The house is modern, quirky and spacious. The kitchen is relatively small, but there is a large fridge/freezer in the hall in addition to the small one in the kitchen, so perfectly adequate. The swimming pool is absolutely wonderful. The huge windows overlook the stunning view. The pool rota is a great idea - we had plenty of time with the pool all to ourselves. Bliss! We're hoping to come back and book Woodside Cottage, too. Nice location but disappointing

The location of the property was lovely and the garden with deer, bird life and rabbits was delightful for the children. However, I feel the price we paid for the property (and shared pool) was too high for the overall experience. The kitchen was not suitable for a family of five and could only really have one adult in the area to make dinner. The house also had another visitor that arrived every night - a mouse. This led me to have some sleepless nights and concerns about the cleanliness of the crockery and cutlery as it could be running in the cupboards and I had to move most of the food and other items to high cupboard space and in the fridge. We did contact the owner and they did put traps down on the last night but the mouse simply took the chocolate and walked off! The pool was also disappointing. The first day we used it, you couldn’t see the bottom of the pool as the water was so murky and there were signs of green slime around the edges and on the bottom. We only used it twice and I wouldn’t let the children dive down under the water. Although the location and property owner contact was good, the Easter holiday price tag was higher than it should be for the overall experience

Excellent birthday weekend

I chose this property as it looked like the perfect place to celebrate my birthday with family. I was not disappointed. I booked both The Roundhouse & Woodside so had full use of the indoor pool which proved to be a bit hit with both adults & children. The cottages are so clean, comfortable and set in a beautiful location. Would highly recommend this to friends & family.

Wow I don’t think there are the words to describe how much we love this place, the cleanliness was outstanding and the feel of the property was exquisite. The local walks was breathtaking and just wow, the pool topped the holiday off the kids couldn’t keep out of it, we will most definitely be returning

Fantastic place to relax and discover the Peak District!

We absolutely loved our stay! Although the cottage itself has some dated features, everything is comfortable and works well and the overall quality of the stay was great. The hosts made us feel so welcome and were super friendly and helpful. The kids absolutely LOVED the pool which is well kept and such a nice touch on a rainy day! Couldn't recommend this place more!

Perfect property

Warm welcome from hosts. Property really clean and has everything we need. Having the pool is real asset, it is also lovely and clean and had no issues with sharing access to it with the other property on site. Really well located, so closer to beautiful countryside, great attractions and lovely towns

The owners of The Round House purchased the original Woodside House way back in 1979, renovating their own house, adding an indoor heated swimming pool before embarking on The Round House in 1994. As an architect, the owner was able to fulfil his dreams of creating a modern house with every comfort. The same attention to detail went in to landscaping the 9 acres of gardens - you will find plenty of mature trees and bushes which attract some amazing bird life.
