This property is in the perfect spot. It was quiet but also right on the main âstripâ in Maiori. You literally walk out the main door and you have dozens of great bakeries and restaurants within a couple minutes of walking. We rented all of the units and were very comfortable. The unit was spotless and had all the amenities we needed such as washer. The one thing to note is that the beds are very firm compared to what we are used to in the states. Other than that we loved everything about it.
My extended family of 13 stayed here for a wedding in Ravello. The apartments were perfect! We needed 5 private apartments for each family group. Our host, Guilia made it happen. The property was as spacious as advertised. I Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the Amalfi coast, wishing to avoid the crowds. The beach was a short walk and not crowded.
Thank you Guilia!
I stayed with my family for a total of fourteen people I believe, placed in 4 different apartments. Surprise surprise, there is no villa.
Pro:
Host is a great communicator
Location is fantastic
Air Conditioning
Cheap
Cons:
Apartments not properly mainteined
WiFi too slow, barely working
Showers barely working
Bad sheets are rough quality
Ants everywhere
Furniture broken
Lights not sufficient in some rooms of the apartments
For the price tag it may seems a good deal, you end up wanting to spend most of the time outside the house, and probably it's a good thing, but the time in the house is not as nice or relaxing as you wish.
I would reccomend to look something else.
Lovely location but disappointing and dishonest host..beware!
We were 4 couples that booked the VRBO site in the beautiful little town of Maoiri on the Amalfi coast. The advertised site said that the entire house was included in the rental but when arrived, only 3 apartments were available resulting in one couple sleeping in the kitchen on two single beds instead of the apartment that was a part of the house but was rented out to another tennant. We contacted the host and VRBO and were told the there was nothing to be done. The host actually denied that there was a problem . In fact we never laid eyes on the host who lived in another village and despite telling us she would come and look over the situation..Never showed her face. VRBO did offer a small dispensation for our misfortune but the damage was done and one couple was not very comfortable for the week. Unfortunate because the location was very good with only a short walk to the ocean and the mountains on the other side. The property was fairy clean and newly renovated although ants were a problem if food of any kind was left unattended. We sincerely hope that VRBO will follow up with this host and take her to task for the deceit.
We brought our 87-year old mother to Europe, so we needed a place where someone with mobility issues could walk to the beach. Plus, we had family and a couple of friends who were traveling with us. This home in Maoiri was perfect!! You can walk down the central pedestrian street in town, on flat ground, a few blocks from the beach. Restaurants and shops line the pedestrian street, which is open to cars for a few hours in the morning and afternoon so you can get close with a car for packing. I paid for an extra parking space for my rented van, which was a locked garage a couple of blocks away, which allowed for an easy drive to Pompeii, Paestum, and other destinations.
This home was originally designed to serve as several apartments, so there are two different kitchen areas, three different washing machines, and every room has its own air conditioning. Very comfortable. The owners are builders by trade, and it shows because the home is very well maintained. Their son owns a restaurant across the street, and you get the feeling that everyone knows everyone in the area, which is nice.
We hired a small boat and captain from Samboat.com to pick us up at the harbor in Maoiri and take us to the Blue Grotto and harbor in Capri. There is also a public ferry that leaves from the harbor in Maoiri to go to Capri and the other towns along the Amalfi coast. We also brought along an inflatable kayak, and paddled 1 mile southeast to Pandora Cave and a cove. Awesome!!
