Spectacular views of the Monterey Bay and your own private boardwalk to the beach are among the very special features of this home in a gated community near the quaint fishing village of Moss Landing. A short drive into the 'town' of Moss Landing will bring you to restaurants, fruit markets and a marina with whale watching tours. Nearby Elkhorn Slough is a wonderful place to view wildlife like sea otters on kayaking tours.
Part of the gated Monterey Dunes Colony, the 1,360-square-foot condo is situated at the midpoint of the bay, with easy access to attractions on the Monterey Peninsula and in the Santa Cruz area. Hop onto Highway One for an easy ride to the Monterey Peninsula and all of its attractions, and coastal towns like Carmel-by-the-Sea, Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach. Or head north to Capitola and Santa Cruz. You might feel like you're 'away from it all' but in reality, you're right in the middle of everywhere you'll want to visit on the central California Coast.
The 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo features chic décor with a modern coastal vibe that fits perfectly into this setting, with a back patio looking out upon the bay, where you can watch dolphins, whales and seagulls over the private beach and protected sand dune habitat. Crashing waves will lull you to sleep each night.
The complex is next to Salinas River State Beach, a favorite spot to walk, bird watch and take photos. Monterey and Santa Cruz are within a half hourâs drive, and just a bit further are the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach, the natural wonders of Big Sur, and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village.
A boardwalk path through the dunes to the beach is just out your back door. Grab a beach towel, slip off your shoes and get on your way.
When the wind kicks up, the enclosed front courtyard is a bit more protected and is another pleasant space to spend time or to fire up the propane BBQ grill.
Living Spaces
Guests enter through the private, fenced courtyard. Inside, open concept living spaces flow together seamlessly through this single-level home with attractive wood-look vinyl flooring in a driftwood tone. Vaulted ceilings contribute to the sense of airiness and numerous windows flood the space with light and afford wonderful ocean views. The living area includes an electric fireplace, comfortable seating and a TV with cable service.
Kitchen and Dining
The well-equipped kitchen is ready for the chefs in the group to put together tasty meals and the open concept living space means they won't miss a thing. Quartzite countertops, state of the art stainless steel appliances and a large sink basin in front of an ocean view window will take the chore out of cooking and cleanup. Take your meals inside at the nearby dining table or chat with the chef from stools at the large peninsula countertop. Enjoy morning coffee on the semi-sheltered ocean-facing deck with wind breaks on each side.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Bedroom #1 has a California king bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower and dual sinks.
Bedroom #2 has two twin beds.
The hallway accessed bathroom has a shower-over-tub and the laundry center.
Parking for one vehicle is assigned in the lot near the condo; another vehicle may park in a first-come, first-served Visitor space.
**Shared Community Pool (open April-October) and Hot Tub (all year)** The complex has tennis courts (bring your rackets and balls), a sand volleyball court and a clubhouse, but the short path to the Ocean and miles of sandy beaches is the main event.
