Nice space. Especially liked the balcony. It was a breeze getting around. The apartment is really close to a bus stop, and close to gas town and downtown.
At first we were a little unsure about the neighborhood. It borders areas with a large unhoused population. But, we never felt unsafe and the neighborhood is an eclectic mix of people which gives it a lot of interest and character. Fun ethnic grocery stores to visit and easily walkable to good eateries. The apartment suited our needs. We didnât spend much time there during the day and we didnât use the kitchen facilities much. We were grateful for the laundry facilities. The bed was comfortable. The bus system in Vancouver is fantastic and that was our chief mode of transportation. Buses were easily accessible.Robert was easy to connect with and was most helpful with check in.
This was a cozy place to stay with easy bus access to downtown and walking to the boardwalk around False Creek. We enjoyed great restaurants in Chinatown.
Does the owner care? It seems as though the bare minimum was attempted, but even then the experience falls short at times. Initially we got there 10 mins in advance, called n messaged to see if it were possible get into the place a little early(wouldnât have mind if he said no which it wouldâve understandable) but instead he refused to answer the buzzer or message us back until the exact time. At face value the place looked fine, but there were many mind boggling things such as no recycling bin, a proper garbage bin with a lid that can hold more than a few items, the stove fan did not work, and some of the dishes and utensils seemed to not have been cleaned properly. icing on the cake was that we messaged him about using the tv provided and instead he just refused to answer the message for the remainder of our stay. The location is fine, itâs near hastings so you get what you can just be vigilant of course. But definitely would not revisit.
Had a really great week here. The owner was very responsive to communication and the apartment was clean and spacious for two people. Great to relax on the balcony in the evening. The local area also has some excellent restaurants.
A fab property which was super clean, tidy and perfect for our stay. Quick and easy check in process which is always handy. Lovely and friendly host, excellent communication. Would throughly recommend this property. Thank you Robert we loved our stay!
The room is alright. Nevertheless, the bed sheets seemed like it has not been washed. I had to washed the bed sheets myself after I check in late at night. Furthermore, the area around the place is sketchy and unsafe.
The property manager was quick to reply if needed and the building was beautiful. Good location for my needs and close to Chinatown and lots of good eats. Space was clean. Thanks!
This was my first time visiting Vancouver with my husband. We enjoyed the neighboring communities and the food options. The place was fine but a bit stuffy. The portable HVAC unit helped a great deal, but the place may benefit from darker curtains as the direct sun is pretty intense.
The neighborhood where this place is situated to the rail and the bus lines are fantastic. The neighborhood itself is still a bit rough. However, lots of great food and coffee within blocks of the unit.
We really enjoyed our stay here. This is a modest apartment in a gem of a neighborhood, an amazing location with easy access to so many places in Vancouver (transit, walking, train, etc.) It is a very urban area and has all the noise and such that comes with it.
The apartment is very nice, but it does need a little TLC. The washer/dryer, and AC unit were much appreciated. The balcony was great. I fell asleep reading one afternoon and it was incredible. My partner and I love Chinatown in Vancouver. It's very queer friendly, and close to so many great cafes, restaurants, and shops within blocks.
We didn't use the kitchen almost at all this visit, which ironically was one of the reasons I wanted to try this place. The bathroom though is the real centerpiece.
Our only real complaint was the mattress. It was very springy and kept the bed shaking when either of us stirred at night. For a couple of nights, it was fine. If we'd stayed longer I probably would have asked for a mattress pad or something to try and make it more comfortable.
At the time I didn't really feel the need to ask the property manager for any assistance, so they may well have offered.
Truly, the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because the mattress could be nicer (and that's where you sleep). Overall it was perfectly lovely.
The host was very patient and generous working through booking issues that were entirely my fault.
Location is super convenient for walking to BC Place.
The host was prompt, professional, empathetic and accommodating. The location was ideal and the unit faced back of building so it was a lot quieter. Many things to see, shop and eat within walking distance.
We are by no means clean freaks, however there were few spaces in the unit that were visibly clean. Grease on backsplash in kitchen, dirty counters, filthy mirrors, and dusty/dirty floors. Obviously affordable rentals arenât going to be spotless or pristine, but we felt uncomfortable with the state of the apartment. Also, there was an odour in the bathroom that smelled unpleasant and got worse after the humidity from a shower.
If youâre looking for a cheap stay thatâs accessible to cool areas, it wasnât that bad and it had a decent amount of space. The decor was cute and the couch was comfy, but the lack of cleanliness put a damper on our stay.
We enjoyed the apartment. The view out the patio window was very disappointing, though, full curtains would have been better. And the TV didn't work at all. It rained the whole three days, so it would have been nice to watch a show or movie in the evening time. We appreciated the communication with the manager. It was a difficult trip getting to Vancouver, due to cancellations. We lost a full day. We will come back again at a better time of the year.
I mostly enjoyed my stay and felt fairly safe and cozy. Good location near Sky Train and the Amtrak station. Great shower and dining area. The couch is somewhat stained though but the space is roomy enough for 2 people. I have to add the apartment is very basically furnished. There were only 2 bath towels and one kitchen towel provided (I bought additional hand towels to use while we were there). There was 1 tablespoon of instant coffee and 1 TBSP of real coffee--not nearly adequate for 2 people for 3 nights.
