I normally donât post reviews on anything, but in this case I want to let other folks know about this place. This is our 3rd year staying here. Stayed 2 weeks this year. The lady who owns this house is great. She promptly responds to emails and phone calls. This is an older home, but it is well kept up. The location of this place is perfect. Grand Haven's downtown was only a couple blocks away. The river broadwalk is just a couple of blocks away too. We discovered the trolley route was close by so we used it a couple of times to get to the beach. There is a Wii which was a godsend the day it rained. My older kids loved the large driveway which has a basketball goal. The backyard is one of the features of this place that we love the most. It was great for a large family gathering we hosted. The firepit was great for making smores. There is an ice cream shop a couple blocks away that we walked to most nights. Even though we were so close to many of Grand Haven's attractions, the house is located in a quiet clean neighborhood.
My daughter and I stayed for five days in September. The unit was perfect. It was spacious, clean, and very well supplied. It was 2 blocks from downtown. We've spent many vacations in grand haven. This was the best rental we've had.
We have stayed at this property in the past and loved it. House is super clean and backyard is an amazing spot to hang out. Close to downtown in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. Owners are very quick to respond and very accommodating
We had a nice stay at this house. The proximity to downtown was great! The owners were very responsive and they had all the amenities we needed. The house is starting to show age cosmetically but there was nothing unsafe or unclean.
Fantastic location, great hosts, but the place could really use some work
For starters, this location cannot be beat. It's literally two blocks from the charming downtown area, and a short bike ride or five-minute drive to the beach. The street is lovely, and the neighbors were friendly.
Hosts were appropriately communicative and provided everything in the listing, as well as some extras like Keurig cups and firewood. There were several light bulbs out throughout the house, but that wasn't a big deal.
What was surprising was the general condition of the home. While tidy, it is in pretty desperate need of improvements. Not much appears to have been done to it in the last few decades. Finishes are very old and rickety. The walls, ceilings and floors / carpet show a lot of water damage / sagging over time. Several rough-looking DIY patches throughout the place. The deck area is nice, but is collapsing / lacking supports on the back side of the yard. Moreover, the rest of the neighborhood is really gorgeous and shows a lot of pride in ownership. These are not complaints about staying in an old place... our home was built in 1898.
Also, to be clear, none of the photos in the listing were disingenuous, they just didn't set up our expectations correctly. The place was totally functional as advertised.
It may be that the owners are saving their rental earnings to do improvements down the road, which would make this a really tremendous location. The hosts seem like good folks, and we wish them well with the property.
Had great air conditioning, it was hot and humid whileI was there. Lots of outside seating and comfy furniture inside. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and silverware. The only issue was the bedroom windows would not open (painted shut) in case of emergency.
The location was great! It's 2 to 3 blocks from the riverfront, musical fountain, and downtown shops. It's just a little further (very short drive) to the lake and pier. There were a couple minor things that could use some TLC as is common with older homes but owners were very responsive and the home was clean and had everything we needed. The back yard had a really nice deck with large mature trees. It was a great place to relax. We would definitely stay here again.
Very high value property, only a few blocks from restaurants and from the beach. The house was comfortable and clean and had plenty of space for our family of 4!
We enjoyed our stay in Grand Haven. The house was very clean and was in an excellent location. Very close to downtown and the musical fountain. The owners were very accessible and any questions I had were answered very quickly.
It's an old house which could definitely use some TLC. Beds need upgrading. Could also use a good cleaning.
We needed a place to spend time with family and enjoy dinners together. It was equipped well for all our cooking needs. Great location for walking and enjoying the area.
Very comfortable. Everything you need. Great location to down town and beach.owners very friendly and Heipfull. Have stayed there 3 times. Will book again.
We enjoyed our time in Grand Haven. This property is close to downtown Grand Haven and the the waterfront area. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed.
My family and I have stayed at Kristi's Place the last few summers but, on the spur of the moment my wife and I were able to arrange a getaway for just the two of us. I called Kristi to see if she had 5 days available starting the end of the week. She was happy to make arrangements on such short notice. As usual the home was immaculately clean inside and out. During this stay we even had time to enjoy the bikes that are provided.
Thanks for helping make this getaway relaxing.

Not impressed
We used the oven twice, both times to reheat food @ 350 degrees. After about 10 minutes the grease in the oven started smoking and set off the smoke alarm. So, no oven.
Twice the lever arm that connects the flush handle to the flapper fell off the flush handle. No fun dealing with a faulty toilet. Our dog escaped the yard by going up the hill to the left where there is no fence. Property advertised a fenced in yard, which isn't true.
The sump pump in the basement was overflowing and just disgusting. We were afraid to use the washer & dryer next to it.
Upon arrival a notice of water cutoff was on the front door. Dated in 3 days time. We didn't want to stay in the house without water.
This experience was appalling. Whoever is looking after the house isn't doing their job, but that should not be our problem. We left after two days of our 5 day booking.
Buyer beware. You get what you pay for. The low price is attractive and the glowing reviews are deceiving.
Lovely and charming home - older but very well maintained!
This home is bubbling over with charm - from the original hardwood floors to the historic kitchen cabinets with their abundant counter space! As mentioned in the property description, the house is older. However, it is quite well maintained. Everything one could need is provided for use by guests. The house is well-appointed with comfortable furnishings including 2 reclining chairs, a reclining loveseat, large sofa and a flat screen tv with cable and wii system in the living room. There are 3 bedrooms - 2 ideal for younger guests and a master with king bed, flat screen tv and enormous closet. The eat-in kitchen is expansive with a large fridge, tons of cabinets, a microwave, dishwasher, gas range and even a K-cup machine. Plus all the little essentials were provided - disposable cups, napkins, paper towels - even scissors! The backyard is accessed from a charming sun room with a lovely settee and features 2 decks, lots of seating options and a grill and fire pit. The neighborhood is quiet with a number of charming homes. Kristi was very responsive to emails, especially when the homeaway app had issues accepting my payment. We stayed with our 2 small dogs for a full week and really enjoyed the house as well as the town. We can definitely see ourselves renting this wonderful home during a future visit to Grand Haven. Thanks Kristi & Doug for an excellent stay!
This is our 3rd year here and just like the last 2 years the place was clean, great backyard decks and great location. The owner was both helpful and responsive. Already planning on year 4 here.
Our family vacation in Grand Haven this year was exceptional with easy access to the beach and tennis courts made possible by the ideal location of this home that we rented for the week. We parked the car and utilized the three bikes that were stationed at the house (1 tandem) and used them for our transportation all week. This home is in a very quiet neighborhood and an ideal jump off point for all activities. Really close to downtown Grand Haven and a great and quiet back deck with BBQ. I highly recommend this home for anyone looking to enjoy Lake Michigan without the hassle of having to drive everywhere. We will definitely look to rent this home again on our next trip out to Grand Haven.
We had a lovely stay in Grand Haven. If anything, the house is nicer than pictured in the advertisement, and it is well maintained. Kristi was a great host and responded to e-mails quickly both before and during our stay. There was plenty of room for our family of four, comfortable beds, on-site laundry and enough outdoor seating to have another family over for a BBQ. The house is about a mile from Lake Michigan and a few blocks from downtown Grand Haven. For a rainy day, I recommend the Tri-Cities Historical Museum - it was surprisingly good for a free museum in a relatively small town! I recommend this property without hesitation, and we hope to stay there again.
This was our second time staying here. Kristi is great to work with everything goes very smooth. The house is very clean and comfortable and has everything you need for the stay. The location is awesome as it is within walking distance to everything fun in Grand Haven. The back yard is great place to chill at night around the fire pit. Will definetly stay again the next time we are in town.

Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Doug and Kristi
Owners Doug and Kristi Brandsen bought this house in 1978. It was a fixer upper. In 1992 we moved to Raleigh N.C. with our two boys. Since then we make a yearly trip up to Grand Haven in the Spring to work on our place for Summer Rentals. We just love coming back to Grand Haven it is such a beautiful, and friendly town! We have renamed our home from Kristi's Place to Baileigh's Place in honor of our first Grandchild.
Vacation right in the Heart of Grand Haven. Two blocks to downtown, 3 blocks to Grand Haven's Waterfront, and about a mile to Lake Michigan. Wonderful neighborhood. We do allow well behaved dog is allowed.
The benefits are you don't need to drive everywhere! Just Two blocks to Mainstreet, and 3 blocks to Grand Havens Beautiful Waterfront. Central Park is about 3 blocks from our place. Our home has 1100 sq feet plus a family room in the basement with futon, and reclining chairs a nice place to get away from everyone especially if you have teenagers. Also, the washer and dryer are in the basement.
