La Corniche, what a stunning harbour view

What a view! That’s the natural reaction when you walk into La Corniche and see the unobstructed view of the entire Sydney Harbour Bridge for the first time. It’s like a postcard, immense and shapely over the blue of the harbour with the Opera House beneath, right there in the living room.

A property with such an incredible vista could easily rest on its laurels. Yet this stunning three-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment has so much more to offer than the outlook of a lifetime.

For starters, and to get questions of admin out of the way, there are two secure parking spaces, an inbuilt laundry and luxurious hotel-style facilities within the complex, including a heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and fitness room.

The entire space has been meticulously renovated and styled with designer furniture and luxurious furnishings throughout. Dual living areas mean there’s space for everybody to enjoy the harbour, with the colossal circular lounge the perfect place to wile away the day with a book and a cup of tea.

You experience the harbour view in every part of this house. Each of the spacious three king bedrooms – each with their own en-suite – has an outlook, whether across the harbour or towards iconic Luna Park. You can even watch the twinkling lights of the city skyline from the bath of the master bedroom’s en-suite of an evening.

La Corniche also holds its own when it comes to entertaining: the kitchen is fully equipped with a butler’s pantry and German appliances. The marble bar and dining table are great places to gather over a meal or glass of wine, but the outdoor dining terrace is the real showstopper on sunny days. The only downside is not being able to stay forever.

What the owner loves
McMahons Point is the ideal place to stay in Sydney. Just across the harbour from the CBD, it’s quiet and private, but only a short ferry ride or a drive across the bridge to Circular Quay and the heart of the action. Harbourside walks beckon, as well as Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden. Get out there and explore!
