We were a group of 2 couple visiting Japan, and his place was great for us. Nice location, easy to get to/access, had everything you needed, host was great.
We loved this authentic quiet well-appointed home. It was a bit hard to find as it is down the end of a small lane. However it is close to the local station and Kyoto's main station. The beautiful big onsen was superb after busy days spent sightseeing. There is an excellent cafe providing great coffee on the way to the local station. We had one small problem that was quickly resolved. We'd definitely recommend this guest house for anyone wanting something more authentic than a hotel that is the same the world over. Many thanks.
I really liked the house. It was nestled down a quiet side street in a nice neighborhood, and was a 5 minute walk from the train station. The house offered every amenity we needed.
What really frustrated me was the communication about check in. I had to call VRBO multiple times and finally got a PDF with the code to the door. I shouldn't have to work that hard. Especially when I made contact through the app starting a week in advance. It made going to Kyoto stressful.
If you can look past the poor communication, it's a great place.
no communication caused unnecessary vacation stress
The lack of communication was so unnecessary and stressful. after receiving no replies from my messages and calling BRBO three times I finally got a code sent to me the night before our arrival. any communication letting us know that we receive it the night before it would have been very helpful. you were unable to use the washer because of a note left on it by the host. we have been here a month and we're planning on using it to wash our clothes. it should not be listed with washer included if it if you are unable to use it. The location was fantastic but the stress at the beginning was so unnecessary. this host must start emailing people before in order to keep this property part of someone's stressless vacation
