Had an absolutely lovely stay at this home. Mr Tanaka welcomed us warmly and provided us with every amenity you can think of, including delicious snacks and breakfast foods. We loved the sweet neighborhood, away from the tourist scrum. There are buses and trains to major tourist attractions that are convenient. Altogether very fun to stay in a traditional style home.
We absolutely loved our stay in Kyoto! Mr. Tenaka was a wonderful host. Unfortunately our flight was delayed a few hours and we didnât get to the Vrbo until almost 11PM, but he was there to greet us anyway and show us his beautiful property. He recommended many places for us to visit/eat and was always available for questions. The property was gorgeous and immaculately clean. We would love to stay here again if weâre in Kyoto!
The hosts were AMAZING they met us at check in to make sure we knew how to turn on things like the air conditioner. They left us some snacks and food for breakfast! It was close to the bus stop so it was easy to get to. Perfect for our large family with enough room for 7 adults. We loved staying here.
Kozo-san was a wonderful, gracious host. He met us at the property and went over everything in detail. He answered emails promptly and even helped get us dinner reservations. The house itself is lovely, comfortable, air-conditioned and blissfully quiet, yet conveniently located. The five of us were quite comfortable, but I would hesitate to try to fit a larger group.
Kozo-san is an excellent host. When we arrived he walked us through the amenities of the house. The house itself was cozy and spacious enough for the 4 of us. Location wise it is on a quiet road, near many cafes and historical landmarks. It also close to bus and train stations, so seeing the farther away sites was easy and manageable. Thank you, Kozo-san.
What a great perfect place for a family or group to stay. The host is super friendly and welcomes you into their place and shows you how everything works. The host really made our trip to Kyoto more enjoyable!
The house is well equipped and the AC worked which was important for us during the summer heat wave. It is also a 2 min walk from a handy bus stop, a 20 min walk to Kinkakuji and a convenience store is close by. Also an amazing cafe called Latte Art junkies should not be missed. Laundry is on site and clothes are hung outside to dry. If you want to feel like youâre in Japan this is the place. PS the tub in the back is amazing!
kozo inn is a hidden jewel and an authentic japanese ryokan
Our stay in kozo inn with the most hospitable hosts was the highlight of our trip in kyoto.
The inn had complimentary snacks and drinks, which we very much appreciate. It was also very clean and had the authentic feel of a japanese inn. We appreciate the complimentary new house slippers and towels.
Having both a tatami room with 2 futons and a western room with 2 western beds were very good.
The kitchen was equipped with all the necessary utensils to be able to prepare and eat breakfasts there. It is within a walking distance to a Fresco and Izumiya Grocery and several other konbinis. There are several bus stops that goes all the way to kyoto station.
There are also several restaurants nearby which makes it very convenient to find a place to eat.
If we ever go back to Kyoto, we would like to definitely stay here again.
First off, this property is absolutely gorgeous - it has a very traditional look with excellent modern day ammenities. The level of service and welcomeness that Mr Tanaka and his staff provided was absolutely incredible. They made us feel like VIPs. Mr Tanaka was very communicative and accomodating as my group and I were late getting into Kyoto as we were running behind schedule. When we finally met with Mr Tanaka, he and his staff member were so kind and accomodating, showing us the property and even providing extra perks - food for breakfast and snacks for our stay. When I asked his staff member what the extra cost would be, she simply replied,"service!" Wow. The home is located a little further away from the main sites to tour in Kyoto, but it's so easy to get around using public transportation that the property's location was not, in any way, an issue. There's even an AMAZING ramen shop right around the corner, literally a 3 minute walk. The home has all the amenities you'll need - comfortable beds, ample room to shower (with great water pressure), a toilet both on the ground floor as well as upstairs. There's even a cool traditional tub out on the back patio to bath in. So cool! The kitchen has plenty of space - we cooked breakfast with the food the host supplied us. We enjoyed our stay so much that we wished we had spent more days in Kyoto. I cannot say enough what an absolute gem this home is. Mr Tanaka and his staff made us feel so welcome and at home.
