Elendar is a 130 year old cottage in Morpeth, the historic heart of the Hunter Valley. The 2 bedroom home (with sofa bed in lounge) can accommodate up to 6 people and is pet friendly (small dogs only). Elendar is 250 metres from the centre of the village with its historic bridge and buildings, pubs, cafes, shops, a cellar door and restaurants.
Elendar is a wonderful place to stay, it is beautifully presented and Suzanne goes all out to make the stay special.
We had such a relaxing time and would definitely recommend it to everyone.
The property was even more beautiful than the photos, and our host left us a welcome basket of local treats. Was a very comfortable place to stay while attending a wedding in the area.
Was our second stay in this beautiful cottage.
Felt at home from the second we arrived, especially when the air con had been put on on a very hot afternoon.
Thanks again Suzanne and Andrew.
Elendar is a beautiful and comfortable home with all creature comforts and more! The owners Suzanne and Andrew are warm and inviting and the location is perfect. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Was clean and bright and very comfortable.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
Beautiful goodies supplied by the host on arrival.
The house is decorated with such style, everything you could need for a short or long stay and all within walking distance of Morpeth's main centre.
Sad to leave! Thank you Suzanne & Andrew for letting us stay in your beautiful home.
Just a wonderful place to stay.
Andrew and Suzanne are originally city dwellers (Suzanne from Sydney and Andrew from Yorkshire in England). We made the tree change to Morpeth many years ago and we truly love it here. We live and work in Morpeth but we are fortunate to have work that takes us all over Australia. Our love of travel (domestic and international) has given us vast experience as guests in all types of accommodation. What we love most is cultural immersion - where you can really get the feel of what it's like to live like a local. Using our travel experience and, taking ideas from some of our favourite hosts (such as in Tasmania, the south of France and Vermont in the USA) we have fashioned Elendar as an immersive, authentic village experience. We hope you will love it!
Elendar has loads of historic appeal and features on the local walking tour of notable historic homes (available from the Museum). Elendar is decorated with an eclectic mix of antiques, modern furnishings and photographs and artefacts from our travels. It features reverse cycle air-conditioning and back-up gas heating for very cold nights. The kitchen has an authentic rustic feel but we have installed a new Smeg oven and modern appliances with plenty of cooking utensils and basics for those of you who would like to sample our local produce.
Elendar is 250 metres from the centre of the Morpeth village. A 3 minute walk will take you to the Heritage Listed Morpeth bridge, specialty stores, a supermarket, a doctor and a pharmacy. There are loads of cafes, two pubs, two bakeries (including the original Arnott's bakehouse), a cellar door and a couple of good restaurants as well as the award winning UAINE Candles which manufactures beautiful soy candles on the banks of the Hunter River.
Morpeth is also a great location for those of you wanting to explore the wineries and the region. Pokolbin (the winery centre) is about 40 minutes away by car. Newcastle (with its beautiful beaches and buzzing nightlife) is 35 minutes away; Port Stephens is less than an hour away and around Morpeth there are loads of little villages (such as Lorn, Bolwarra and Paterson) which are definitely worth exploring.
