The inside of the home was amazingly great. I did learn a new word from my son regarding the neighborhood though, gentrification. We arrived after dark and the neighborhood/ Street seemed a little scary. We met Steve, the neighbor, and got to know him over our 3 night stay. His presence probably keeps the street safe. There is a police station across the way as well. We did walk to the university, the grocery, the bagel store and the donut shop and felt safe. Just saying don't judge the place by the first impression as you approach.

Upon arriving after an 8 hour drive for our trip, we noticed the location was not in a great area. Once we arrived, trash was piled up outside of the building in cans and on the ground. Host was notified and offered no resolution. To open the door you had to deal with the flies instantly all around the trash as well as a horrid smell.We arrived after midnight, tired after a long drive to find out the sheets were still in the dryer and the bed had a random undersized sheet just draped over the bed. Waiting for the sheets to dry and then making the bed at 2 am was not ideal.The bathroom did not have a shower curtain causing water to spray everywhere and make a mess each time.The bath towels had hair tangled all throughout them and the pillows were all stained.The host offered a 50 refund which was a slap in the face after the price we paid to stay in their place.I would not recommend staying here even if you have to pay a significant amount more to not have to deal with these inconveniences.

When we first walked in everything seemed great. Then the problems compounded as our stay went on. We stopped locking the 2nd floor bathroom door but it still jammed. One person was stuck in there 40 minutes before they could get someone over to get him out.Other issues: feces on a bathroom rim of toilet, hardly any silverware, no paper towels. Oven knob missing found it in oven after cooking. Admittedly we did get door.fixed and supplies but most was half way through our trip.Maintanance was nice but said the group before us had pretty much trashed the place and there was not time to fix everything before we arrived. It would have been nice to know in advance so we could have possibly change it.We were told that quiet time was at 9. However every night at about 10 there was yelling and cursing on the streets for at least an hour or two. If we went outside then either one of us or the teenagers did not have someone come up to us and had either imbued in some chemical or drunk. I know not every neighborhood is perfect but safe I expect.Every communication sounded the same. I have began to suspect AI. At one point I received a message a team member had emailed me and to check inbox and spam. I had not received one. I sent another message. They said they would take care of itI waited to do a review till They had addressed more. Two days after we were home 4 days after we left. I received a message welcoming to our stay and message if we needed anything

While activity in the surrounding neighborhood is outside our control, we understand the noise was disruptive.
