The Avalon House is the best in every way. We will only stay at the Avalon House when we come back to Palm Springs. Letâs keep this gem a secret. A special home. The Best.
Beautiful views of mountains and clean vintage vibes
Enjoyed the pool and spa. Blow ups and outdoor games were a nice bonus. Weather was perfect too!!!
Nice, updated home was clean and as described. No issues during stay and easy communication with management company. Convenient location. Would book again.
We rented this place for a 50th Birthday party girls weekend. Great location - pool and jacuzzi were fun. House was clean, beds were comfy. Dishwasher did not work well and we needed more kitchen and bath towels - specifically hand and wash cloths (only 2 provided for 4 people 3 nights.
The property was perfect for a family getaway! Although we brought quite a few things, we didnât need a lot of it as the house had pretty much what we needed for our stay. It was clean, stylish, close to town, close to hiking and pretty close to golf courses. We loved the pool and the grass area was great to play corn hole. We brought our own food to cook most of our meals and the kitchen was well equipped with what we needed. We would stay here again!
We had a great mini vacay in Palm Springs. Location of the house is excellent, close to downtown, very quiet and safe feeling though that area is fairly windy. Listing is exactly as shown but furnishings are starting to show wear. Definitely style over comfort for living areas that look great but arenât particularly comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and had great sleeps! Outdoor furniture is showing a lot of wear from the sun/wind. Pool is lovely but chilly if you donât pay for heating, our Canadian selfâs had no issue with the temperature after busy, hot days. It had all the necessities for a short stay including ample shampoo/conditioner/body wash and soaps as well as some basics in the kitchen like coffee makings. Easy check in and out, found no reason to contact the company. I did notice that once you sign off on house rules online you can no longer access the rules and they are not posted at the houseâŠit would have been nice to be able to look back on them if we had questions. At our previous VRBO stays there was a book/binder with all necessary information at the house. Overall excellent stay!
Loved this property! While the outside is very unassuming, the inside and backyard are everything you need. Clean, well-appointed, and properly decorated. My husband and I said a few times this would be precisely the type of house we'd want in PS. All you need without breaking the bank.
Lovely backyard with view of the mountains. Perfect amount of grass if you had kids, location good, nicely equipped and lots of towels which we appreciated. The only reason not five star all the way around was the pool ended up not getting heated which worked out fine for us but with kids could be disappointing. And the wind is normal in PS which is what we like on a hot day. The North may have a bit more of a wind factor but we have stayed all over and twice in this area. I would rent this home again and rent from Poppy again as they do seem to have it under control and the app they use simplifies the whole process. Thanks for a relaxing week!!â đ
We did a girls weekend and had a great time! The kitchen and living room layout and outdoors area were great.
We did have to do a lot of logging in and figuring it out when we wanted to adjust the heat on the hot tub, know what to do for checkout, find the WiFi password, etc. most places have a binder of information but this place had nothing. I had to call to find out about the hot tub and then download another app, which would have been nice to know on the first day in an info book instead of giving up the first night and calling the next day.
One other suggestion is to put black out shades in the orange room that has two beds. It was really bright and HOT in there starting at 6 am, which meant that the people in there didnât get to sleep in. The other rooms were dark and cool through the morning since they donât have east facing windows. These issues are the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
Overall we had a good time and enjoyed a fun weekend at this home!
Yes, I understand that there was a final validation screen detailing all the fees, but what a load of garbage. They sucked us in with an equitable nightly rate, we emotionally committed, and then we were totally blind-sided with a range of fees. Why were they not contemplated in the published nightly rate? Airlines have to include all taxes, fees and add-ons, why is VRBO any different? Just pathetic.
Andddddd, it sure would have been nice if the property had been honest about the fact that it was in a wind tunnel. We walked three blocks over and zero wind. This house? From 6am to sunset, the wind was so bad, we had to take down the umbrellas. Just disappointing that they didn't inform us ahead of time. Oh well, the rate was one of the better rates we found - buyer beware and when it looks too good to be true... it probably is.
