The one and only four-bedroom Deerfield Village condominium, Four Big Bears offers extra space and plenty of cozy comfort. Located right in the center of Canaan Valley, this lovely home offers easy access to Blackwater Falls State Park, Canaan Valley Resort, and the artsy towns of Thomas and Davis. Winter visitors will love the quick trip to Canaan Resort, White Grass and Timberline Mountain. Preparing home cooked meals in the well-equipped kitchen makes dinnertime, and family time, easy. Sit by the fire for conversation and relaxation or enjoy a quiet walk around this beautiful mountain community. A community swimming pool, onsite pavilion, basketball, and tennis court are available. So many ways to have a great day!

Great location, nice place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family really enjoyed to room this house has. Deerfield Village is a great location and Canaan Valley is a wonderful place to just "be". New furniture in the house was very comfortable and overall Four Big Bears is in good condition with no serious complaints. A few minor maintenance issues (downstairs bathroom main light didn't work, light over the kitchen sink worked sporadically (we stopped using it), a couple of windows are difficult to operate). We do really enjoy the house though and look forward to staying there again.

Roomy and Close to skiing

Two families of 4 stayed for 3 nights while skiing at Canaan Valley. The townhouse was well stocked and had plenty of room for us to spread out. The fireplace was a welcome addition after skiing all day. A baseboard heaters were not working and we called maintenance who responded promptly and fixed it in no time. Upstairs there are two bathrooms for 4 bedrooms to share and another downstairs. There are two separate living spaces as well. The only hiccup we had was parking. We had two vehicles and parking was an issue due to the townhome being on the end and another townhome diagonal from it. If you park to the left of the townhouse, the full-time resident may block you in. They blocked us in and were cursing at us when we asked them to move the car so we could get out. Apparently it’s an ongoing issue. I wasnt aware of any specific parking instructions. It could of been in the fine print somewhere and I missed it. Overall, a great trip. FYI, if you get sick/hurt and need medical attention the walk-in clinic is not very friendly. The next medical center is 45 minutes away on mountain roads.

Great time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time in Four Big Bears and especially enjoyed the extra space the 4 bedroom provided. We had a group of families traveling together and were all 19 able to gather for dinner very comfortably. Our only complaints were the lack of lighting in the queen bedroom (only bedside lamps worked) and the stackable washer and dryer were tiny - especially when all 6 skiers came in sopping wet since the weather didn't cooperate for us. Overall, great place!

Vacation to meet other members of our family from other states

Perfect for a timberline ski trip for a group

July 4 vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great house for family in good location . Needed better cleaning, floors were dirty , our feet were black. Upstairs toilets needed to be clean, that was disappointing however minor . Some new furniture.. no ac if it gets too.hot and humid, we were lucky. Good ceiling fans. Again, great family house.

The bed arrangements worked out perfectly. And having 3 baths was great! Firewood was provided and trash picked up promptly. This is an ideal location to see Davis and Thomas, Blackwater Falls, White Grass etc. Best of Canaan was great to deal with! Loved it!
