Great stay - wonderful house and host!

We enjoyed our stay 10/10. The house was complete with everything we needed, was nicely remodeled and furnished and very convenient for our purposes! Super clean and a big plus was no bed stripping! We visit Canaan every January and will look to book here again!

Weekend getaway

We stayed at this property with another family (4 adults, 4 kids) and had a wonderful experience! The triple bunk beds are fulls, not twins so you can easily fit two smaller children in one bed. Our kids loved getting to all bunk together! The kitchen was well stocked with various cookware and plenty of spices. The coffee was a nice touch. We also really enjoyed the community. Plenty for the kiddos to do between the play ground, volleyball nets(which had balls in a container) and the pond. We fished one day and all the kids caught multiple fish in about an hour. A huge hit! Also the house came with toys which was great bonus. About 10 minute drive to downtown Davis and Blackwater state Park. If you have kids, this is a wonderful place to stay!

A perfect stay among the mountains

This has been in our 3rd or 4th year staying at this location for our annual summer trip and we will be coming back again! Everything you could need is in the condo. They keep everything clean and organized and they are just nice. Love it here!

Great condo in Davis

Perfect place for a family to stay for a winter getaway. It's recently been updated and well furnished. I've already recommended it to a friend and will check for availability next time we are back in the area!

Perfect location for Canaan/Timberline

For us, this was the perfect location to visit Canaan for skiing and Blackwater Falls State Park for sledding. Inside, the accommodations are clean, new, and up to date. The owners certainly take care and pride their property and it shows. We would definitely stay here again!

Hiking getaway

We loved using this property as a home base for day hikes in the area. The home is very clean and well stocked- super comfortable place to return to at the end of the day after hiking! Beautiful community as well- love being able to walk to the bbq restaurant nearby.

Our second year of staying at this location. Just as wonderful as the first time we stayed. Everything was cleaned and rwady to use. Getting in and out was easy. Location is breathtaking.

Great Canaan Valley Vacation

Mountain State Escape is definitely a 5 star property that is located in a beautiful community surrounded by well maintained landscaping as well as views of magnificent mountains and countryside. The house is extremely clean and equipped to provide for a relaxing vacation for all age groups. Obviously, much thought and consideration was given to this property when preparing it to meet the expectations of vacationers.

Fantastic holiday weekend!

The accommodations are lovely and very clean and comfortable. My three kids loved the bunk bed room and had a blast exploring the community’s amenities. We walked to a nearby BBQ restaurant after hiking Seneca Rocks and enjoyed proximity to all the local attractions. Owners were very responsive when I had a question. Super stay and hope to come back.

Great Time

My husband, sister and brother in law decided to come up for a few days to see the fall foliage and were lucky enough to find this cute townhouse. It was very clean and nicely decorated. It also came supplied with everything we needed. The location was perfect to everything ( Canaan Valley Resort, Davis and Blackwater Falls) only wished we could have stayed longer.

Perfect WV Get Away

Condo was very clean. Kitchen was well equipped. Seating was very spacious. Outdoor decking comfortable seating and view. All the comforts of home. TV’s in every room. Lovely updated condo. We are looking forward to returning soon. Thank you for your hospitality.

Magical Mountain Retreat

We stayed at the Mountain State Escape with family for a long weekend of exploration and relaxation. This rental met every one of our needs. It was clean, smelled fresh, and had a very cozy feel. Comfortable beds and linens, everything you need to prepare a meal in the kitchen, furnishings were lovely, and extra little touches all around the house for guests of all ages. Lots of toys and games for the littles and the owners definitely have taken the time to put thought and care into their property. The location was excellent, quiet and very easy to find. It was the perfect weekend with family and this place had so much to do with that. You won't be disappointed!

Getaway

The cabin was beautiful and clean. If you would happen to forget something, the cabin was most likely stocked with it for your use. The only negative thing was to hear a few homeowners complain that we were swimming at the pool. They said that guests shouldn't be allowed to use the pool. When our children heard that it instantly ruined their time and they wanted to leave immediately. Other than that I'd love to return and definitely would recommend.

Last minute trip to Canaan Valley for some skiing. Awesome condo, perfect for a family, close to everything we needed/wanted, well maintained, and super comfortable. Shelly and Roger were great to work with and we will definitely be back!

Fantastic

Beautiful place, came up for a short snowboarding trip and it was perfect. They had all amenties you'd need throughout the house and was absolutely spotless. Highly recommend!
