Huge House, Not Great
Pros:
- Huge property (lots of beds, huge primary bedroom)
- Hot tub
- Good water pressure
Cons:
- Need to go to a Real Estate office to get keys, i.e., no code for doors. Feels like unnecessary hassle.
- Many things didnât work upon arrival: downstairs TVs and fireplaces, with no house manual or instruction manuals to be found anywhere.
- Checked in during holidays / after-hours, and couldnât reach an actual live person except via their âemergencyâ line. With the *other* major vacation rental company, you can always reach your âhostâ easily via app or phone during most of the 24 hrs.
- Comforter in the Primary bedroom smelled bad - it was obvious it hasnât been washed recently.
- Was provided a total of 2x of each: tiny little shampoo and conditioner bottles (smaller than what hotels give) for a house meant for like 12 people.
- Upstairs heating is not well distributed; very cold in big primary bedroom, and too warm in other bedrooms.
- Carpets were stained, and house is generally very dated.
- Upon arrival, the table was set for a formal dining event, with plates and cloth napkins set out in napkin rings. I guess the intent is to make it seem like a nice place, but in reality not welcoming. Who is going to have a formal dinner for a trip to S. Lake Tahoe? I had to clear the settings, which is extra work for me (and unnecessary work for the cleaning crew).
Had an overall negative impression of this house. Would not recommend, and would not go back.
