Perfect everything!

This house was perfect for our family vacation (6 adults, 2 kids)! The location was great - just over the bridge and outside the mess of downtown St. Augustine. Lots of good restaurants nearby and not far from the beach. The AC stayed nice and cold for the hot summer, but there is only a fan in the master BR. The dining room had a nice, long table that seated everyone comfortably. So often you see rentals that sleep 12 people with a dining table for 4! Not the case here. The beds and pillows were comfortable, too. The house has lots of windows and the natural light was nice - but bring a sleep mask if you need complete darkness to sleep.

Good place overall

Was a beautiful place to stay had a lot of things to do.they had bikes and helmets to ride around neighborhood board games and cards to play only things I noticed that could use some attention was 2 chairs outside were broke and the grill could use new burners wouldn't cook food evenly.and could use another chair on front porch was nice place to sit but only 2 people could sit other than that was a very nice place to stay and would stay again .also a lot to do and visit in the area

Cute house!

Nice house in a great location. Had a nice selection of cooking utensils and cookware that i really appreciate since we do tend to cook a lot, even on vacation. The only con to the house was that it was not as clean as others we have stayed in. The floors were still dirty so we just grabbed a broom and took care of it. The bath towels could use replacing as there were holes in a couple of them. Over all, a great house, super location and we all had a great time!

Could be an amazing vacation property but needs a lot of work. Very dirty and not managed well.

I was very disappointed in our stay at this location. When we arrived it was dirty. There was trash lying on the side. The doors under the kitchen sink were open and there was a cane propped up. There were floats in the pool and toys laying all around the side of the pool. We wondered if someone was actually still staying in the home and it had been double booked. We quickly reached out to the contact we were given and she responded back very quickly and let us know that no one was still there and the pool items were there for us to use. The pool chairs had the cushions hanging off and were scattered around the pool half hazardly. I thought to myself the least that could have been done waa to have straighted up some, but in the grand scheme of things this was no big deal. The cane was left by someone who had come by to check on the house and we were asked to place it by the front door, again no big deal. Then after further inspection of the property the window seat in the kitchen had dried food all over it, the black couch in the extra room also had dried food all over it along with numerous crumbs as did the couch in the living room. My son went to put his stuff in his closet and there was dirt all in the floor that had not been swept up. I apparently came on vacation to clean others messes. However, still at this point I chose to not complain, I cleaned the messes up and went about the rest of my day. Then came bedtime. I pulled back my comforter and sheets to find dirt, hair, and stains all over my sheets. Literally these sheets could NOT have been changed since the last people stayed there. I'm not talking about a piece of dirt or two either. There was a ton of dirt and other people's hair on my sheets that I was expected to sleep on. Upon further inspection of the other rooms my childres sheets were dirty as well but not as dirty as my husband and myselfs. However, my mother's sheets was were I lost it. Upon exam of her sheets I found blood stains (I am a nurse and know what dried blood looks like) on the sheets AND pillow cases. I have never been so disgusted nor so appalled in my entire life. And the worst part was nothing could really be done that night so we were up until almost 2 am washing and drying sheets. I should have been payed the cleaning fee for this home. I will never ever rent another property managed by Evolve again. Deborah was very responsive and sweet however and I do appreciate that.

Always again, such a great time at this wonderful place!

Hi There We stayed at this place with the entire "Grand-Family" (My wife, our two Kids, Grandma and my brother) for two weeks and we had a wonderful time. The place was perfect! Lots of space, nice kitchen Area, nice living room, great bedrooms and a very nice pool area, everything what you needed was there. Even Problems which we had (washing machine was broken) were handled well and the owner and service were great and responded directly. So we highly recommend the place for a wonderful vacation in St. Augustin. Greetings from Germany Family Poersch

Great house - poor communication/service

PROS: The house is great! The location is fantastic, and within walking distance (or short driving distance) to the end of the Lion Bridge, which means that you can walk to downtown via the bridge instead of navigating the overwhelming downtown traffic. The neighborhood is great and the house and pool feels private! The house is well appointed with good linens and kitchen amenities. The beds are fantastic and sooo comfortable (we were literally trying to figure out how to acquire them ourselves). The pool is a good sized and there are great inflatables for kids to play on, etc. My kids didn't want to swim much in the cooler April (windy) weather, as they complained the pool wasn't warm enough. But I did spend a little time in there one day and thought it was bearable. There are smart TVs in the living room and master bedroom, a nice sized couch in the living room, and a large dining table off the kitchen. It has loads of natural light and comes with some bikes in the garage that can be used, as well as some beach chairs and boards. CONS: The customer service/communication leaves a LOT to be desired. We experienced this after my husband did a load of whites immediately upon arrival, and then followed that with a load of darks. The dark load came out entirely ruined with bleach spots all over the clothing! When we contacted the property manager, they did not respond to our text (with photos). We emailed them and 24 hrs after the initial contact they acknowledged via email that they received our text, but only sent a simple response that essentially said, "we don't use bleach at this house". We sent them a photo of the jug of Publix-branded bleach situated above the washer, to which they replied, "we don't buy our cleaning supplies from Publix." Umm...okay. Seriously? No sympathy or "We apologize that our previous guests must have ruined your clothing by leaving bleach in the washer". They did say they would contact the owner, but we never heard from them again. We sent a follow-up email upon checkout 2 weeks later, which again resulted in no response about the situation. Meanwhile, we had to go shopping and get my husband an entirely new wardrobe, since he only had the shirt on his back after his others were ruined (plus a pair of jeans). That was a bit costly. It's one thing for accidents to happen that aren't an owner's fault (and them not wanting to take responsibility), but it's another thing entirely to not have even a tiny bit of empathy when one customer's mistake leads to the demise of the next customer's property/clothing, at no fault of their own. And the lack of communication was disappointing. But hey--they got their money from our booking, and the previous customer's booking. So, clearly it didn't matter to them. Anyways...off my soap box. The house is great. I just hope you don't have any issues that require contacting them for a resolution!

We didn't want to leave

Great property with everything that you need for a vacation in St. Augustine. This is my first vacation home rental so I didn't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised to find that this property had everything that we could have wanted. From bikes in the garage to floaties in the pool even though I did bring my own. We even found out after visiting the beach that there were beach chairs in the garage. The kitchen is fully stocked with pretty much everything that you could need. The grill outside is great, we had a cookout one of the days during our stay. We really enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave.

Wry nice place to stay

This is a lovely home in St. Augustine, FL. The size for my family was perfect and it was a short drive to the beach. Restaurants and shops were near by. The only thing we did not like is that under the beds and couch was full of dust and other peoples small items they left behind. Cleaning needs a little improvement. Other than that we would stay again in a heart beat.
