Bienvenue dans notre gîte au bord du lac Three Mile, dans la région des lacs de Muskoka ! Notre havre de paix est situé à environ 20 minutes de Bracebridge, Huntsville et Port Sydney, et à 30 minutes de Port Carling — toutes ces localités sont idéales pour faire du shopping et se restaurer. Vous trouverez également un magasin général avec un point de vente LCBO et une station-service à quelques minutes de notre gîte. De plus, nous ne sommes qu’à 7 minutes en voiture du parcours de golf « Diamond in the Ruff », à 25 minutes du parc provincial Arrowhead et à 30 minutes de la station de ski Hidden Valley.

Le gîte dispose de 4 chambres et peut accueillir confortablement 8 personnes (Chambre 1 : 1 lit queen size, un bureau, des placards ; chambre 2 : 1 lit queen size, un placard, une commode ; chambre 3 : un lit double avec un lit simple gigogne, un placard, une commode ; chambre 4 : 1 lit double, une commode).

La cuisine et la salle à manger à aire ouverte disposent de tout le confort dont vous pourriez avoir besoin. Adjacente à la cuisine et au salon, une grande terrasse est équipée d’un barbecue et d’une pergola ombragée avec une table et des chaises pour vos repas en plein air et vos moments de détente.

En été, pendant la journée, détendez-vous dans l’un des hamacs donnant sur l’eau pendant que vos enfants construisent un château de sable sur la plage de sable de 100 pieds. Faites un tour en pédalo, essayez le stand up paddle, le kayak ou rejoignez vos enfants pour sauter et jouer sur le « Lilly Pad » géant. Et vous pouvez toujours vous installer sur le ponton pour profiter du soleil ou même pêcher un peu. Après avoir préparé votre prise du jour, pourquoi ne pas prendre un verre de vin et vous détendre dans une chaise Muskoka autour de la lueur du foyer extérieur pendant que vos enfants préparent des s’mores ?

Lorsque vous passez du temps à l’intérieur, installez-vous confortablement dans le grand salon équipé d’un meuble multimédia (Smart TV avec Chromecast, cheminée électrique), ou vous pouvez choisir de descendre pour lire un livre, jouer à des jeux de société ou faire une partie de baby-foot. Si vous venez vous évader de la ville mais devez travailler pendant votre séjour, la connexion Internet haut débit est suffisamment rapide pour les réunions Zoom ou pour regarder Netflix en streaming.

En hiver, profitez de tout ce que le lac Three Mile a à offrir. Installez votre cabane de pêche sur glace et attrapez du brochet pour le dîner. Apportez votre motoneige et partez en excursion d’une journée pour explorer le lac et les sentiers qui s’y rattachent. Et si les conditions s’y prêtent, vous pourrez peut-être même patiner sur le lac. Et bien sûr, le foyer extérieur reste à votre disposition pour ceux d’entre vous qui souhaitent faire griller des marshmallows en plein cœur de l’hiver. En plus de profiter de l’hiver au lac Three Mile, notre gîte se trouve à proximité du parc provincial Arrowhead (à 25 minutes), où vous pourrez faire du patin à glace sur une piste de 1,3 km. Vous pouvez également faire du ski, du snowboard ou de la luge à la station Hidden Valley Resort (à 30 minutes).

We had an absolutely wonderful week. The property was extremely comfortable and flexible to house 4 adults and 4 children. The leisure facilities were thoroughly enjoyed with a lot of paddle boarding and kayaking carried out by all! The nearby towns and beaches were lovely and easily accessible. Looking forward to visiting again.

Perfect getaway Fall weekend

The cottage is all what you need to relax and enjoy the weekend. A beautiful place to spend time with family and friends, a quiet lake with beautiful sunrise views. Great cottage with a bunch of water activities

The place was beautiful and clean! What you see in the photos is accurate! They provide a bunch of activities; paddle board, kayaks, float pad, badminton, volleyball, bunch of board games, and more. It also has a shallow area w sand. I wish it was sunny when we went but either way we had fun and we would love to go back again! Thank you to John for being a great host.

A wonderful cottage experience

My family and I just returned from staying at this amazing cottage. The photos do not do the property justice. It has everything you need and more. We had a great time using the water equipment and having nightly fires and relaxing in the hammocks. It is such a beautiful and quiet lake. The host John was extremely helpful and responsive to all of our questions. We are hoping to return again next year if possible:)

More Than We Expected

Our family of 5 adults and 1 toddler enjoyed a wonderful week at this Muskoka Lakehouse Retreat. The check-in was seamless with John readily available to answer any questions we had. The cottage was spacious and immaculate, the kitchen had everything we needed (and more), and there were plenty of water toys to keep us entertained throughout the week. The pictures of this property were exactly how it was - no surprises. The area was quiet and the sandy beach was a great addition for our 5 year old granddaughter. Thanks to John and Heejin for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

Looked different than the photos showed

The property was a little older than we were expecting from the photos. The basement was not ideal for sleeping - very musty smelling and rooms were very small. You could not go for a swim without first going through a fair amount of seaweed and grasses to get to swimmable water. Both grandkids ended up with leaches on their feet - you need to be careful where you stand in the lake. The kitchen was very well stocked and had all utensils and appliances you needed. The back door has many bees coming and going all day, I believe there is a nest somewhere under the house siding.

Thank you for taking the time to review our cottage and we’re sorry that our cottage did not meet your expectations. We have done our best to fairly represent our rooms in all of our pictures and descriptions. They have all been taken within the last year and we do not use any lenses or filters when taking them. And based on all of the previous reviews from prior guests, our guests have been very happy with the space and our cottage overall. We are also very sorry to hear about your grandchildren getting leeches on their feet and your inconveniences with the weeds. Water plants and all forms of living creatures are all part of cottage living in Muskoka. And while we really aren’t fans of the weeds, and with the low water level this year they really stand out, we are prohibited by environmental regulations to remove them. However, what we do, and I believe many of our guests do, is to use the paddle boards and even the giant floating yellow pad to float over the weeds and go swimming out past the dock where it is clear. And thank you for telling me about the bees. If they are in the siding, we will definitely see about having them relocated.

Spacious Cottage on a Relaxing Lake

John was very communicative throughout our stay. He left us a welcome package that included helpful details about the cottage. The place was fully-equipped with kitchen supplies, which was great because we liked to cook. We especially loved the espresso machine! The place was just as advertised, except that it didn’t include basic soap and shampoo and a couple of us packed light and forgot to bring. It was much more spacious than we thought and we ended up not using the basement. We were 8 adults and the upstairs rooms were able to accommodate all of us. Plus, the basement was a little musky and didn’t have a lot windows anyway. We spent a majority of our time in the lake, it was very clam and peaceful. We were particularly grateful for all the water toys. We couldn’t jump off the dock because of all the seaweed, but we would paddle the giant foam raft out into the middle of the lake and jump off from there. Also, the dock was unstable and would often wobble when we walked across it. Unfortunately, we did encounter one impolite neighbour but overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the area was quiet.

Cottage was very comfortable and spacious for a large family. Lake is perfectly calm and perfect everyday for paddling around. There are quite a bit of weeds in the entry point and we had to go quite far past the dock to get in the water. This might depend on water level but overall it’s not a very deep lake. Great week overall, loved being outside. Great level property with lots of seating. Some patio furniture could do with replacing.

John was a fantastic host and very responsive to inquiries from our first communication. While my wife and I typically like to venture to different areas to explore and prefer not to stay at the same place twice, this cottage is definitely on our very short list of places we would return to. We had a most relaxing time here with lots to do. We spent a lot of time on the lake kayaking & paddleboarding, and in the event of a rainy day there are lots of table games and foosball. Also, extra points for allowing pets. We felt completely at home.

Great stay!!

Beautiful location right on the water with lots to do both inside and outside! The wifi was fantastic for remote work as well - able to sit and work outside as far as to the dock even! We really appreciated and enjoyed the SUP boards and kayaks, the older kids loved the hammocks and the younger kids enjoyed playing in the sand. The cottage is on a nice quiet road so we were able to walk and bike safely. Very close to lots of beautiful trails and waterfalls as well. Thanks for a great week at your beautiful cottage!

Perfect Stay

John's house met our needs perfectly. We were blessed with beautiful weather. The cottage is very well equipped and and was very comfortable for 6 adults. The small room off the kitchen was great for those in the party that needed to be "working from home". We are able to make good use of the 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boats. Sitting around the fire pit in the evenings looking at the stars is a memory we will all treasure. John was very helpful and accommodating . The goodies left in the fridge was a nice a touch.

Family weekend at John's cottage

This home was our families little paradise for the family weekend. Perfectly decorated, super clean, so many little extras that you don't always get like hot chocolate, tea, kitchen spices, games, throw blankets, etc. The rooms were spacious, with gorgeous linens, and nice big closets. We loved the downstairs stove and every second in that warm home! The host was quick to reply and lovely to deal with!

Wonderful Winter Getaway

Our family spent an amazing January weekend at John’s cottage. He was able to accommodate us on short notice which was greatly appreciated. Everything was taken care of and ready when we arrived. The driveway and walkway to the door were cleared of snow. We walked into a toasty warm home which was wonderful considering the very low temps outside. The home is bigger than it appears outside. It was spotless and organized and had everything we needed. We just had to bring food and our personal items. We were even greeted with some much-appreciated beverages when we arrived! The home is well taken care of and up to date and we felt comfortable right away. The kitchen was fully stocked including dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher detergent and paper towels which was great. We all thought the beds were very comfy and nice quality bedding was provided. It was very nice to not have to bring bedding and towels with us. Paper products for the bathroom were provided as well. There were plenty of games, a foosball table and television to keep us entertained inside. The backyard was amazing with a fire pit and chairs, full view of the lake and a ready to use ice rink! It was so quiet when stepping outside and just very relaxing. The location of this home is great. Just about a 20-minute drive to Huntsville or Bracebridge and so easy to get to all the attractions. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Cottage Getaway!

My friends and I booked John's cottage for a week and we loved every minute of it. John was a great host and was always quick to respond to communications. The home itself is spacious and has multiple bedrooms shared nicely across 2 floors to allow for privacy. The backyard is large for a range of outdoor sports and activities and the hammocks are a perfect addition! The beachfront is a real treat for kids or anyone looking to lounge on the sand, and the dock with muskoka chairs was a perfect way to relax and watch the sunset. Wonderful week

We spent a week here in August and had a wonderful time. The house was nice and spacious and had all the utensils/amenities we needed. Beautiful view of 3 mile Lake
