The cottage is beautiful, well built and impeccably maintained. Ken and Tara are very responsive and the cottage is equipped with everything one could possibly require. The deck is huge and perfect for sundowners. I highly recommend this spot.
Absolutely loved everything about our stay- absolutely stunning location and cabin, very thoughtful in all the little details - Iâd love to return someday
We were looking for a place to get away and relax. The Muskoka Lake Chalet was the perfect place. The outdoor decks and dock were perfect for relaxing by the water or enjoying a meal. The firepit is a wonderful way to enjoy the evening. The cottage itself was well appointed with anything you could possibly want. It was very clean and had plenty of cottage charm. We liked it so much, weâre looking at dates to possibly book again in the Fall.
We had a lovely 4 nights. Tara and Ken met us at cottage and showed us around. Excellent hosts. Cottage is fully equipped with all you need for a very comfortable stay. Best bit of it for us was sitting quietly on the huge deck relaxing.
We had a great week at the cottageâeverything was well done at the cottage and all the amenities were fantastic. Tara and Ken are wonderful hosts. Would stay again.
Amazing cottage over looking the lake. Enjoyed the large dock and fire pit to sit back and relax. The new cottage was fully equipped, spacious and extremely comfortable. Tara was an amazing host.
Owners are close by and are professional, kind and welcoming. The property is beautiful, beds are comfortable, and the dock (and view) are everything you associate to staying at a cottage in Muskoka.
This cottage was clean and absolutely beautiful! Ken and Tara were fantastic to deal with. My 12 year old boy/girl twins are asking when we can go back!
Really enjoyed the lake view and the large window in the living room. The property also had many household items that were very useful including board games in the TV cabinet. Note that the living room couches seat 5 people.
Loved our stay! Right on the lake. Simply amazing. Built and designed by ken and his son.
All details were attended to from purofief water to lovely linens. Spacious and new. Well maintained by wonderful hosts. They even brought us kindling wood and fire starters. Will definitely come back!
First time back in Muskoka after many years and this was a wonderful reintroduction. The location on the lake was huddled in a small inlet and the view from the cottage with its cathedral glass windows was inspiring! Hiking trails were close by and a great way to spend a few hours in the quiet of the forest and sereneness of the lake. The location of the cottage between Gravenhurst and Bala made it easy to get around with good food and dining options. The hosts were gracious. Will come back hopefully next year!
Tara and Kenâs beautiful cottage right on lake Muskoka was exactly what we needed to relax and unwind. The location itself was perfect, right next to incredible hiking trails and gorgeous views.
The cottage itself, which was built by the family themselves, was an absolutely gorgeous space to get to spend a weekend. The huge dock, big porch, and fire pit created perfect space for summer memories.
Tara and Ken have taken special care to make sure everything that we might need was already in place for us, from a fully stocked kitchen to an impossible amount of towels to handle whatever we got ourselves into.
They were incredibly gracious hosts, meeting us at the property to walk us through everything we needed to know to make the space feel like it was our home.
Such a special place we canât wait to get back.
Two friends and I have been doing a "Girl's Getaway" for the past three years. Laughs, good food and good company. The spectacular views, kind and attentive hosts, made for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. The cottage itself is beautiful, immaculate, and charming, made all the more special by the craftsmanship and detail in its design. Such special memories. Thank you Tara and Ken
We loved the property and would stay here again. Very quiet and peaceful.
This was our 1st time renting a cottage and we were pleasantly surprised with all the amenities that were provided.
Just wish we had a canoe to use.
Found the hot water lacking as well.
Loved the wood finishes throughout the cottage and loved the flooring. Thanks Tara and Ken
My husband and I have had the good fortune of living in Muskoka for over 40 years. We have raised our family here and enjoy all the seasons. We take part in hiking and biking, as well as kayaking in the area. My husband's family have lived on the property for over 100 years. My son built the cottage, with the help of my husband. We hope that others will be able to fully enjoy the area when they visit the cottage.
Barlochan Lookout is on a bay on Walker's Point on Lake Muskoka. There is boating access to the big three lakes; We are situated between Bala and Gravenhurst on a year round maintained road. Close to the Torrance Barrens, you can enjoy the dark nigh sky of Central Ontario from either the Barrens, or right from the dock. Close to Bala , Port Carling and Gravenhurst for shopping and browsing. Hardy Lake Park nearby offers hiking trails of various lengths from 3 km to 9 km.
The lake property has been in my husband's family for over 100 years. We built this cottage with love, and hope all our guests enjoy it as much as we do. We have first had knowledge of the area; pay attention to detail; and are immediately available should you need our assistance.
