It was relaxing, quiet, private and very cozy. It was close to shopping, dining and scenic mountain views. The decor was well done. It is definitely on the rustic side and could benefit from some modern upgrades. Upon arrival, we noted a musty, damp smell but assumed it would dissipate after it had been open for a while. The smell did lessen as the days went by, but never completely went away. It was what we were looking for in a relaxing time away, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery.
The property was fine, although in retrospect we would have opted for a slightly larger cabin. One drawback of this particular property is the changes in level between rooms, especially into the bathroom from the bedroom. That is a dangerous situation and should be remedied.
We were not able to open the door with the access code at 10 pm on ourfirst night there. After the real estate contact did not answer our calls we called the manager who said the contact would call us. She did call back but was very abusive and told us the problem was not either the entry code but with us for not understanding how to get in. She said the same about why we couldnât get the TV to work or the fireplace remote control. She came the next morning and was even more abusive since we were correct on all three problems. But she kept saying no one had ever had problems so we must have caused the problems, even though the directions for the TV directed us to use the wrong remote, etc etc. my husband had to leave the room because she was so condescending. She never introduced herself or apologized. Thankfully she eventually left and we had her take the incorrect directions for the TV with her. Hoping the next guests have a better experience. This woman needs counseling and better training to work with clients. Of course we would never stay here again
This vintage cottage has been thoroughly upgraded and every touch shows loving attention. It overflows with romance and charm, but shows its pride in its roots - down to touches of mountain cottage quirkiness. It is also easy to get to - without terrifying twist-backs and drop-offs, and it's only a few minutes from town. The beautiful lot is privately located in a sun-dappled wooded glade, and close enough to everything that it's not over-isolated. Management company was right on the ball with great comm and support (thanks, Holly). Kitchen and bath are understandably small by today's standards, so it's probably not for a gourmet cook or tub soaker. Yes, it does have a large step down into the bathroom, so watch for that. Ideal for a couple, but there is a large sleeping hammock on the huge screened in porch that could accommodate a couple of kids. I was here in late May (alone, sadly, due to unavoidable schedule conflict) and opened the windows for a breeze, but it occurs to me that it might be chilly in winter; ask the manager. Loved it.
We enjoyed our stay at the property. Itâs small and the layout is a bit strange but it works well for 2 people. Itâs a great place to make your home base for exploring in the highlands. I would mention that the internet is quite poor. That was our only complaint for the weekend we spent here.
Loved this quaint cabin! The location was great for
us as we wanted a quiet weekend away from hustle and bustle. It was private and surrounded by nature and forest. It was only a short drive into Highlands and not too far from Franklin.
We enjoyed our stay at Rockwell. It was quite an restful and so convenient to Highlands. The property manager was very accommodating an always responsive. We hadnât pulled out of the drive before we were discussing out return.
The cabin was so quaint and cozy nestled in the woods., it felt like stepping back in time! It was absolutely perfect, located just a few miles to Downtown Highland. The property manager was wonderful and responded to all our questions, checkin and check out was a breeze. I would highly recommend this property!
Perfect getaway for my husband and I for our 30th wedding anniversary. Quaint home with lots of charm secluded feeling but close to lots of hiking and great restaurants.
The cabin was an absolute delight. We were pleasantly surprised by its quaintness and it was very close to all the locations we visited while we were there. It is on the list of places to return
The house is as cute as a bug. It is set in a lot full of trees so seems a little dark inside I prefer more light. The owner was very responsive when we asked for a grill. I would definitely stay here again
We enjoyed our stay at Rockwall. Everything was just as I had hoped for. It was semi-secluded with a drive way that went up into a wooded area with a nice mossy yard and an outside eating area---very peaceful. The porch is lovely and includes a little electric fireplace. The inside was cozy with a living room with a gas fireplace and a propane heater. It gets chilly in August! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and the laundry room was spacious. I must give a shout out to Bennie with Galax Rentals. He could not have been any nicer or helpful to us. Can't wait to go back.
What a great cabin! I stepped back in time to a place that felt like my grandparents used to live there. Very quiet and clean. One of the most charming places I've seen.
This cabin is so cozy and private! It was the perfect spot to get away from it all and unwind. And the entire team was a delight to work with. Thank you!
