While the home is professionally cleaned before every stay, we understand that scent can be noticeable within the closet and are actively working to eliminate it. That said, it’s important to clarify this does not reflect the overall cleanliness of the home, which we take immense pride in. All rugs and couches are professionally steamed after each stay, and every blanket, bedspread, and pillow cover is laundered with disinfecting detergent. As it’s our personal home as well, cleanliness is our highest priority. Regarding the walk to the lake—you’re absolutely right, it’s a bit steep, especially for older adults with difficulties. To help with this, we’ve built stairs at the back of the house to make navigating the steepest part of the hill more manageable. Many guests have found this addition helpful, and we’ll continue to highlight it in our listing. While we’re happy your overall stay was great, we’ll admit it was disheartening to see our long-standing five-star rating impacted.
