My husband and I enjoyed an idyllic 5 night stay at this property relaxing on the decks and enjoying the view of the lake, bald eagles, boats, etc. The steps to the dock for fishing total 102 steps so be aware. But totally worth it. Our kids and grandkids who live nearby joined us for a few afternoons and it was wonderful. We highly recommend this home for those able to manage the climb up from the dock. Just one word for those like us who still watch cable TV, the TV service at this property is ROKU so you will need your password(s) to access any other service you have. We plan to definitely rent this property again!

Five stars isn't enough—our family of six truly had a fantastic stay at this beautiful lake house on Candlewood Lake. Everything about our stay was excellent, seamless, and deeply relaxing. As a family of six cooking full meals, we were thrilled to find the kitchen perfectly equipped with every single essential tool we needed. The host’s attention to detail made a huge difference, especially with both bathrooms generously stocked with plenty of soap, body wash, and conditioner. To top it all off, watching the breathtaking sunset over the lake each night right from the house was an absolute highlight that made every evening special. We couldn't have asked for a better getaway and would love to return!

Fantastic Lake House

The lake is clear and warm in the summer. Plenty of shoreline for kayaks and some small islands nearby. The house is exactly as pictured, with unimpeded views of the lake. Plenty to see and do in the area. Host communication was excellent. We would visit again.

Amazing property

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The lake view was both amazing and incredibly peaceful, offering a perfect retreat from everyday life. The property itself is a five-star experience, equipped with everything we could possibly need. Every detail, from the deck to the stairs and dock, was thoughtfully designed. We will undoubtedly rent this property again.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Sunset on The Way. We apologize for the miscommunication regarding the dock and waterfront area. When the house was first listed, the waterfront was under construction and unsafe for guest use. Somehow, that information was mistakenly left in the guest book after the waterfront was renovated at the end of last season. When we were made aware of the mistake (almost immediately upon check in), we clearly communicated via text that the information was left in the book in error and you could indeed swim and boat off the dock. We apologize if that communication was somehow lost or misconstrued. Best wishes.

Beautiful Views

This is one of our favorite properties. The house situated perfectly to allow the parents to walk straight in with only a few steps, which is rare in this area, and also perfectly equipped with pretty much everything you would need. The views are amazing at all times of the day. The host are very responsive to questions (should you have any). We will definitely be back.

Perfect Lakefront Getaway!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this lakefront property! The outdoor gathering spots are plentiful and perfect for family and friends to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Whether it was morning coffee on one of the many decks, or simply lounging in the sun, every moment was magical. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals, which made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. The entire place was spotless, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the property. Overall, this is a gem of a place, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable lakefront retreat!
