Great location, apartment has all basic amenities but...
It's really noisy. Worst is the road noise from nearby High St - regular cars are bad enough but if a truck comes past, conversation goes from difficult to near impossible.
Life gets worse if it's raining, someone decided that the flat surfaces outside the windows, like the ledge at the big window or the top of the air-conditioner, should be made of a drum-skin like material. At least it partially drowns out the road noise. Additionally, when the wind picks up, both the road and the rain get to play second fiddle to the rattling window frames. In all seriousness, this place could probably go from a 2/10 to an 8 with two simple words: Double đ Glazing đ
Oh, and the very weak shower randomly goes cold sometimes.
I stayed here for 5 weeks.
The view was really special of the port, ocean, Fremantle and all the way to Rottnest Island.
The traffic noises didn't bother me.
The ability to walk into town was good.
The unit was clean, everything was there that I needed.
Would recommend it to others.
The ocean views from Apartment 201 over the port city of Fremantle will captivate you by day and by night. The wide expanse of the window allows you to enjoy the working port to the maximum. Watch the cruise ships and the huge container ships manoeuvre their way into dock as they come and go aided by the tug boats. Be captivated by the ferries, the pleasure boats and the wonderful view of Rottnest Island 10 km away. There is always something interesting happening to capture your attention on the sparkling blue waters of the Indian ocean.
The apartment is located five minutes walk from the centre of Fremantle. You can choose to walk or you could catch the free CAT bus which circumnavigates Fremantle frequently from early morning to late afternoon.
Apartment 201 sits in front of Monument Hill and I highly recommend you watch the sun set over the ocean from this panoramic spot.
Meandering into Fremantle, you will pass a selection of ornate historic homes and gorgeous gardens. This paves the way to the centre of our world heritage listed town and Australia's longest working port.
