Our stay at Markâs Cabin was fantastic! The cabin was very clean and spacious! He was very knowledgeable about the area and had great suggestions for our little adventures! We also loved the walk to Judaculla Rock from the cabin :) Thank you again Mark for this great Christmas trip!
We booked a 3 night stay and it was fantastic. The location was nice, quiet and relaxing. Mark, the property owner and host is superb. Enjoyed meeting and talking with him. He also has thought of everything you would ever need in a rental property. Amenities were plentiful. Definitely a great place to go to and just relax.
My family stayed in this cabin for my daughter's graduation weekend. It was a great place for all of us to celebrate together. We had a wonderful time. Perfectly set up and well supplied cabin. Mark gets 5 stars from us.
Thanks Mark for your hospitality. It was great to meet you and your doggies :) The cabin was clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed for our weekend and only wish we were able to stay longer! Thanks Again!
Mark, the owner, was incredible from initial booking through checkout. His property is absolutely the most well stocked of any we have ever stayed in. Literally, bring your people and food and some firewood. Then, sit back and enjoy the view, the porch, the fire pits, the stargazing, the quiet. A perfect Christmas holiday in the mountains.
We had a group of college boys come with us for the WCU football. I was looking for a cabin big enough for us all and found it here! Mark is very hospitable and easy to communicate with.
This was our second time staying here. It's a great location if you're looking for a place that offers some peace and quiet. The house is always well furnished with everything you need. Fresh eggs from the chickens too! Mark is always super friendly and he's great about responding back to you if you have any questions or concerns. Another great stay!
Couldnât have asked for a better overall experience! The cabin was great with plenty of space for a family get together of 9. Tons of land for kids to run around and play and extremely close to Sylva and many other destinations. Mark the host was amazing and extremely communicative which made this even easier. Highly recommend this cabin and anyone looking to visit the Cullowhee area!
My three sons, my husband and I had a wonderful time in Mark's well appointed home! Everything we needed was provided and the house was clean and exactly as advertised. Being so close to my son's college was a huge bonus! We already rebooked for Thanksgiving! Thanks Mark!
What a great place to stay! Everything about Markâs cabin was awesome! From the communication, the directions to the cabin, the location everything was perfect. The cabin was very clean and everything was in its place. Plenty of the essentials were available in the kitchen and bathrooms. Beautiful sunrises from the porch or living room and the stars at night were incredible. A great base location for all of the amenities that the mountains of NC provide. We will definitely be returning!
Great! There were no steep, winding gravel roads to drive on to get to the property. The cabin was clean, beautiful and quiet. It was exactly as advertised. We saw deer each morning while enjoying the cool weather and coffee. The view from the porch is exceptional . . . mountain views through the trees. The bean slingshots were a huge hit with the college kids.
Very quick mountain trip for our granddaughter's orientation. Ive rented several properties through VRBO but never one that was as well stocked and cozy as this one. Our host, Mark, was so accommodating. Everything was perfect. My only regret is we didn't have more time to enjoy the area. The description of this property is spot on. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.
The cabin had plenty of comfortable space for 6 adults and a big dog. The kitchen was really well stocked too. It was nice to sit in a rocker on the porch and watch the birds in the woods.
Mark was very easy to communicate with and we really appreciated him sharing his fresh eggs with us.
We enjoyed many day trips to several falls, tubing and longer rides to the smokies, Dollywood and Biltmore.
We really enjoyed our stay. The owner made us feel very welcomed. There was a bottle of wine and a lovely welcome note. The kids enjoyed checking the chicken coop each morning for fresh eggs. There was plenty of paper goods and pantry with spices and a few left behind food. Plenty of towels and blankets and a supplied toilet paper and paper towels, which you donât normally get with a cabin stay. This place is highly recommended and will stay in the future.
There was something for everyone to do in the area, weather certainly could have been better, but we all managed to find something to do. I love your chickens. Wanted to have back yard chickens myself, but $1 I don't think they are allowed here in Flagler Beach and #2 Mark would have to come and build me a coop like his :-) because the ones at Tractor Supply can't compare.
Mark is the best host! He responds as fast as he can. He wants to make sure your stay is what you want it to be. His cabin is perfect location. Close to town but far enough to enjoy quiet mountain living. Fresh eggs! All the amenities needed to make your stay relaxing. This cabin is perfect for parents or alumni to stay when visiting campus. Very close! This was our second stay and will continue to come back!
We stayed at this cabin for our annual summer family trip. The location was excellent and the cabin itself was not on top of other houses. The owner Mark stays on the property, we never saw him, but is available should the need arise. The home has a large kitchen table for family meals and sharing stories. The front porch has rocking chairs for enjoying the sounds of nature and the cool mountain evenings. The fire pit is close to the house and front porch where people can stay on the porch and still enjoy the fire and conversation. If you are looking for a place that doesn't have the corporate feel, but one of a more personal touch, this is a good choice and you won't be disappointed.
This property near Western Carolina was perfect for our WCU homecoming reunion trip.
It is a beautiful home hosted by Mark who was close to property if needed and available anytime during our stay.
The house was spacious, clean, and felt just like being at home with plenty of room for our group of 8 adults. Fully furnished with all the amenities for a perfect getaway!
Seeing the deer in the from the front porch in the early mornings was an added treat along with the wood burning fire pit out back. We enjoyed it every evening!
We hope to plan another trip soon!!!
Thanks, Mark, for you more than perfect hospitality and for opening your home to us.
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Mark's cabin for 4 days and 3 nights leading up to our wedding, and it truly exceeded all our expectations! The cabin itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and thoughtfully equipped, providing the perfect setting for such a special occasion.
We hosted our rehearsal dinner here, and it was an unforgettable experience. Mark went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. From the very beginning, he was extremely helpful and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. Throughout our stay, he maintained consistent contact to check in and make sure everything was going smoothly, which we greatly appreciated.
As if his kindness and hospitality werenât enough, Mark surprised us with a complimentary bottle of wine and a thoughtful congratulatory note, which added such a personal and memorable touch to our visit.
This cabin provided the perfect backdrop for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. We cannot recommend Markâs place highly enough for anyone looking for a beautiful, welcoming, and well-cared-for space. Thank you, Mark, for helping make our wedding week so special!
We loved the spacious âcabinâ with lots of character and full amenities; and enjoyed just sitting on the porch in rockers and visiting with family we had not seen much due to Covid. We really did not have to go anywhere to enjoy this stay; but there were interesting places to visit close by and we did. We saw deer in the field opposite the cabin nearly every day. The early morning fog and glow of the sun over the surrounding mountains was spectacular. We just loved this place. The one small drawback was that neighbors at the other end of the field at times played music loud enough to reach us; but the music was mostly quite interesting or to our liking! And inside the cabin, we really could not hear it.
We loved our mountian cabin getaway. The house is very spacious for the family to spread out but also cozy. The views are amazing. Being able to watch deer graze while drinking coffee on the front porch was a much needed break from our daily rushed routine. You can tell Mark takes pride in his home/property. He was very helpful with all my questions and made sure we everything we needed. It was a pleasure for my family to have the opportunity to stay in this cabin. We canât wait to come back!
Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Mark (owner) will be on the property but out of view and respectful of privacy
After many years of the "big city" life it was time for a change. Having grown up around NC and spending many of my formative years in the mountains as a young boy it was time to return. No more hustle and bustle of fast paced city life, no more long bumper to bumper traffic jams and most importantly..... peaceful serenity and quietness. It's a place to sit back and relax, gaze into the mountains and trees, see an occasional deer in the field and "let your soul catch up with you" as my step Dad used to say. I hope your stay here provides you with the same. Enjoy your time here and I hope its the beginning of many future stays.
Property is located on 5 acres which contains fruit trees, grape vines, blueberry bushes, chestnut trees and a creek that has running water usually in late fall and winter. Wooded area behind house and serene views of the mountains from the back deck rocking chairs. House has a total of 4 decks. House location is close to lakes (Bear lake only 11 miles), rivers (Caney Fork river is 1/2 mile and Tuckasegee river is 2 miles and excellent for fly fishing and kayaking). Judaculla Rock is only 1/2 mile away and has a special and sacred history amongst the Cherokee Indians. Google it for more information. Asheville is a 45 minute drive. Maggie Valley with its ski resort (Cataloochie) and Cherokee with it's Casino is only 30 minutes away. Blue berries are ready for the picking in late July thru mid September so "help yourself" if you're here during that timeframe!
Kayaks are located on the property and available to rent for only $30 each for a 3 hour period. Owner will transport the kayaks to and from Bear Lake for you which is only 11 miles from the cabin. There is also a guided kayak paddle excursion which leads you to a small island (great for a picnic or a brief rest) and then over to a short and easy 20 minute hike to view Flat Rock Falls (approx. 150" high). This guided paddle trip is an additional $60 and lasts around 3-4 hours. Solitude and dark star-filled nights, great motorcycle roads, close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and great mountain towns are only a few of the many things to enjoy during your stay. Waterfalls and great hikes are close by as well. Tuckasegee River is 3 miles from the house and offers great kayaking, tubing and fly fishing.
