Ware Haven Cottage est situé sur la rivière Ware dans le comté de Gloucester, en Virginie. Une course de 20 minutes en bateau à la baie de Chesapeake. Profitez de la solitude tranquille dans un cadre paisible, tout en étant à quelques minutes des restaurants et magasins dans le quartier historique du palais de justice de Gloucester. Situé à quelques minutes du Triangle historique Virginia - Yorktown, Jamestown et Williamsburg. Ce charmant cottage bien entretenu dispose bel art sur les points de vue à l'intérieur et à couper le souffle à l'extérieur. Deux chambres, une maison de bain peut accueillir cinq personnes confortablement. Cuisine entièrement équipée, Dish TV, baby-foot, barbecue à gaz, kayaks, piscine et jeux de pelouse. Avec plus de 200 pieds de façade sur le front de mer de Ware River, une intimité supplémentaire assurée par l'entrée sur la droite, et une belle superficie boisée derrière, le Ware Haven Cottage offre une intimité paisible tout au long de l'année. Quai de bateau disponible pour l'amarrage de votre bateau (location de petits bateaux sont disponibles dans la région), et rampe de bateau sur la propriété. Profitez de la natation, la pêche, le kayak, le canotage, paddle board, ou simplement se détendre dans le hamac. Jeux de plein air disponibles incluent le basket-ball, pétanque, badminton, et attache balle. Vous pouvez choisir de vous détendre dans la piscine 20x40 pendant la saison de baignade (de mi-mai à fin septembre) avec une vaste terrasse de piscine, idéal pour se détendre avec une boisson fraîche et un bon livre. Le grand projeté dans porche offre une vue à tout moment de la journée des rivières longues. Nous apprécions la grande fosse de feu quand il fait plus frais dehors. C'est parfait pour rôtir la guimauve et faire des s'mores!
S'il vous plaît noter que les propriétaires vivent à côté et peuvent partager la jetée à des moments. En outre, nous sommes dans une zone rurale et nous sommes les derniers sur la ligne de câble donc la connexion wifi est là mais pas à la hauteur de beaucoup de banlieues / grandes villes. Si vous êtes ici pour Internet haute vitesse, nous ne sommes peut-être pas la meilleure option.

This is an exceptional place. The location is just stunning, and it is nicely hidden 1/2 mile or so through some woods off of a rural road, but groceries etc are available about 10 mins away. Really good fishing off the pier. Location is reasonably close to a lot of interesting things to do (Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Yorktown, etc.), but also nice just to hang out at the cottage. Space was good for family of four. Exceptionally clean.

Calm and relaxing

We were looking for a quiet place to swim and enjoy the waterfront, and Ware Haven was just perfect. The house was clean and comfortable and the pool (although cold for the end of the season) was sparkling and so, so relaxing. We brought floats but there were all kinds of noodles and floats available. We loved seeing which birds were perched in the trees by the water throughout the day and spotting crabs in the water around the dock. It's a lovely place to spend time. It was an easy drive into Gloucester where the food and shops were wonderful. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. I'll be recommending the area and Ware Haven in particular to everyone.

A wonderful time of solitude

Gorgeous and immaculate property. The pool (a rarity in the majority of rental properties on the Middle Peninsula) was the cherry on top! The welcome basket was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Only suggestion I might offer is for a lamp or two in the living room to avoid having to use bright overhead lights at night. A gem of a property otherwise.

Breathtaking

Property is absolutely amazing. The drive in to the property makes it feel like your miles away from everything, but walmart and restaurants are 10 minutes up the road. We loved the pool. We got to see a couple egret, a couple river otters but the best was the 4 dolphins that came in. My husband caught a small sand shark which we did not expect! Small slice of heaven

This cottage has everything you could ever want to for a peaceful vacation. The large pool was at about 90 degrees and perfect for swimming on a hot summer day. The views are just incredible, you’re tucked away in the woods, but also overlooking the quiet river and pond with great birdwatching. The dock is a great place to watch the sunset and so is the screened in porch! The home is very clean and tidy and all linens are provided. The location is tucked away, quiet and peaceful, yet stores, shopping centers, restaurants and gas are only a 10 min drive away. We’ve stayed here twice and plan to stay again!

Relaxing!

We enjoyed this vacation home so much! The outside is amazing. The kids had so much to do outside. We caught fish and crabs off the pier. My 17 year old and 12 year old went fishing on the kayaks. The pool was so nice to have. My 7 year old loved the pool. There is also a basketball hoop, swings and fire pit we enjoyed. Inside the screened in porch was our favorite. We used one Picnic table to eat and the other for puzzles. The bedroom upstairs is open and the steps are small. The bathroom shower is on the small side. The washer and dryer is in the garage. This house is very clean. The area is our favorite! There is so much stuff to do. Walmart is just 10 minutes away we used for groceries. We went to the zoo that was an hour away. We went to Bush Gardens that was about 30 minutes away. We had an amazing vacation filled with so many memories! :)

Beautiful location

Absolutely beautiful outdoors right on the river. Peaceful and lovely. Home inside is smallish but just right for 2-3 people. We stayed with our college age daughter and it was fine. My only suggestion for the place would be some lamps in the living room to avoid having to use overhead lights in the evening. I would not suggest staying in this location with any small children—the steps to the loft bedroom are open and a fall risk for littles.

Relaxing and comfortable, the perfect get away

The sunsets and sunrises were magnificent. This vacation cottage was a perfect get away vacation. Property and pool were super clean. Caught 20+ Croakers off the dock when fishing (hint use raw shrimp) Will definitely come again! Thank you Lannings!

River-front with pool

This property is a peaceful river-front retreat, complete with plenty to do. We kayaked, biked, played basketball, swam (in the beautiful pool), ate outside and watched the various local birds with our binoculars. A large fire pit was made available too. There were also plenty of programs/movies & plenty of space for us. We visited Williamsburg area (Busch Gardens), Virginia Beach (dinner & escape room) as well as Urbana for minigolf and ice cream. A nearby restaurant had great food, including seafood. Our hosts were available and helpful - leaving us wonderful gifts from vendors in the area. The house & property is beautiful - a must stay.

A rural Virginia experience for a Colorado family

Sweet cottage right on the river. Our highlights were watching the birds play every morning- we loved seeing the ospreys take care of their baby, the red cardinals, and the blue birds chasing the squirrels! The scenery is just beautiful, it almost makes you sad. The twinkling lights of houses across the river are straight out of a Miyazaki movie. The kayaks were enjoyed by my teenager and hubby. The house was well kept and had everything we needed. We enjoyed all the windows everywhere looking out on the river. My great hope for my Colorado born kids to play with the fire flies but they stayed on the marsh, oh well maybe next time? My kids loved chasing and holding frogs. That was a highlight! The areas close by are very rural, was a novelty for us. We enjoyed Williamsburg but our favorite was the Living Virginia Museum. Steve was a very responsive host. Always available by phone! His laundry room help was much appreciated. This was our kiss’ first time to the east coast and here are some adjectives they used to describe Virginia - spacious, green, mysterious, picturesque and storied! We had a great time, thank you Steve!

Beautiful Views, Quiet Getaway

This house is just lovely. We took our tween boys down for spring break so we could visit Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. Those destinations are a bit of a drive, but the relaxation at the cottage makes it worth it. The boys enjoyed the basketball court and fishing off the dock. I think the house would be exceptional when the pool is open and it’s warm enough to sip your coffee on the screened in porch. (We were there in a chilly, windy late March). Highly recommend!

A fall break getaway

My family and I all have different ideas for what we wanted to do for our fall break vacation and the Williamsburg area met them all. We picked this place due to having a pool and kayaks. The place was cute and quaint. Close enough to Williamsburg but far enough to be away from people. The hosts were very prompt in communications and left a welcome gift for us. The place was clean and well maintained.

Beyond our expectations!

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend together at this beautiful home. Words can not describe just how incredible our time here was. Our three kids (18, 16, 5) didn't want to leave. The time spent in the pool, the kayaks, the swings, the basketball net, fishing... the list goes on. The peace and quiet on the River Ware was just what we all needed. I spent everyday watching the wildlife in the trees and the river. It was hard coming home and back to reality... we are already trying to find a time to revisit! Thank you Cindy! You were an amazing host!

Even better than described

The setting is idyllic; the house is sparkling; the hosts are thoughtful and prompt. What more can you ask for? We can’t say enough about this property. The pool was a perfect respite after a long day at Busch Gardens. Even the trees seemed straight out of a storybook. A true gem.

Perfect family getaway

This cottage was absolutely perfect for our family (kids aged 4&6). The huge pool was great to swim in all day, and the rope showing the shallow end was perfect for our new swimmers. The house itself was so nice, very clean and has both and open front porch with rockers (great for morning coffees) and a huge screened in porch for meals or later in the evening when inevitably bugs will be out. This house has breathtaking views from all angles. The dock is great we saw lots of crabs and did some fishing. Two nights we even saw dolphins!!! Check in was very easy, and with gps it’s easy to find. We didn’t need to contact the owners because we had zero issues. It’s almost impossible to have a relaxing vacation with small children, but this serene location and all it’s amenities actually made this possible. It was worth the 10 hour drive to get there for us 10/10!

Relaxing vacation

The location and property were beautiful. We enjoyed our week stay. Loved how it was out of town and private yet close enough to travel for food, or site seeing. Nice private pool and lots to do on the property when you aren't site seeing. Cindy and Steve were amazing to rent from very accommodating.

Beautiful Escape

Our family really enjoyed our stay. The property is gorgeous and the cottage was very spacious. We especially loved fishing off the pier and swimming in the large pool. There is so much to do in the area and on the property. We didn’t want to leave!

Beautiful — inside and out

I would not hesitate to recommend this delightful Ware Haven Cottage — and I am fussy, haha! The front porch has two cushioned rocking chairs with perfect views of osprey, herons, woodpeckers, blue birds, and the feistiest, tiny deerkill that chased everything away from her nest — it’s truly wonderful to have watching advantages from practically every room, but the variety of birdlife is exceptional. Sunsets are worthy of a toast…or two. The kitchen is immaculate and has a buffet table full of pots and pans — did I mention the view from the kitchen?! Thank you Cindy and Steve :))

We love to boat, swim, and spend time outdoors. We lived in ‘the city’ for a long time, but couldn’t resist the charm of Gloucester County! We fell in love with this property in 1995 for its beautiful views, privacy, and central location in the county. We have raised our three children here, and they are among the biggest fans of the Cottage! We especially love that our grown children love the Cottage, too, and are always happy to come back for fun, family days spent on the river!

Gloucester County offers an ‘off the beaten path,’ small-town feel. The local dining and shopping on Main Street are just ten minutes away and remind us how simple life can be. The Gloucester Brewing Company, our very own microbrewery, is a very popular spot on Main Street.
This property offers privacy and seclusion while being close to many conveniences we’re used to. We love eating quiet dinners on the pool deck, enjoying the views and the peaceful quiet after a fun day playing on the river or the pool. But when we need to, we can always run to the local Walmart, Food Lion, or Dollar General!
