The cottage is a beautiful space and the surrounds are picturesque and fun to explore with walks etc. It is well stocked with all the essentials in the kitchen etc. Our group had a great stay.
Very beautiful setting. Home was very clean, comfortable and practical spaces for large family gathering. Enjoyed the home very much and would definitely visit again.
A much needed escape from the city. The most beautiful location I cannot stress enough opening the gates to Eurokaâs property were like the gates of heaven. Such a beautiful spot and the house was brilliant. It had everything we needed. Also I could reach anyone with a quick response. 10/10 would definitely recommended.
The place was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well furnished. It was raining almost the whole time so we couldn't go out much but the location is just very beautiful. We could see Kangaroos from the place. The only blemish would be that wifi wasn't working possibly because of bad weather. So we could only use our phone network but couldn't play anything on the TV.
We had a great time at the Cottage with our family group. The kitchen was great and the slow combustion fire wonderful as it was very cold during our stay. The place was clean and having linen and towels and toiletries was a real bonus. We were able to have a later checkout as there were no other guests following us and that was great Thankyou . My granddaughter loved being able to check out the horses in the fields and the views of the Megalong valley peaks were beautiful.A few things would have improved our stay that Iâd like to mention included the accuracy of the listing. In the Stayz listing it indicates clearly there was WiFi a smart Tv and a DVD player .The WiFi didnât work and according to an earlier review it hasnât been working for a long time . There was no DVD player & according to Christine the property manager there hadnât been a dVD player for years, though it was listed and referred to in notes & house rules posted in the house as well as the Stayz listing . Updating these facts would help guests prepare for a stay and a few board games would help if there is no WiFi ,TV or DVDs available. Iâd also mention that the road into the Eroka property was very uneven with huge cracks in the road . While they were indicated with witches hats, some of our group arrived after dark and the road was difficult to navigate .Otherwise we had a great stay at the Cottage at Euroka. Thankyou so much
We had a wedding in Megalong Valley & are a large family. The cottage catered to all our needs. Extremely clean & comfortable & the property was beautiful surrounded by horses & a beautiful outlook.
A great place to stay in Megalong valley, short distance to a part of 6foot track.
The house is old but comfortable with everything a group of friends with children needs.
Chris is easy to contact if there are any questions.
Would highly recommend this place for families, who seek for serenity.
The cottage was very clean and spacious, if a bit dated (which adds to the charm in my opinion). It's very close to Blackheath but feels very secluded, with stunning views and horses wandering around. Great stay overall.
The cottage was not really up to scratch. Water was dirty and took most of first day to run clean. No gas in gas bottle, tv didnât work, tap in kitchen was leaking from base of spout had to put towel around it. The beds werenât very comfortable. Front door not even on a runner. Toaster had to be held down to work. Couldnât connect to wifi. Overall the cottage was a very disappointing but we still had a great Xmas in July get together. Horse riding was amazing, the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Whilst the scenery was gorgeous and the cottage clean and equipped that's where it ends. Very impersonal. No one to be seen or a welcome in sight. We stayed here to go trail riding as per the website information. We never met the lady who ran the trail rides. Young girls were sent to meet us whom we booked a ride with 2 days in advance only to be text by the lady who ran the trail rides (whom we never met) the night before to say they would be closed and couldn't do it. Whilst we were offered another nights stay In order to ride the next day we needed to get home to return to work. I had a very disappointed 8 year old as was I. The cottage itself could also do with some attention and maintenance.
Our church group had a great weekend. The ability to stay into the afternoon was a wonderful feature
Our church group had a great weekend. The ability to stay into the afternoon was a wonderful feature for us. A few of the things are starting to be a little run down but still was a great place to go so close to Sydney yet still a break away.
As soon as we arrived, I knew I'd made the right decision. Although only about twenty to twenty five
As soon as we arrived, I knew I'd made the right decision. Although only about twenty to twenty five minutes drive from Blackheath station, the farm feels like it's hundreds of miles from anywhere, some few centuries ago (with exception to the amenties). Every weekend away should fool you into forgetting your day job in the office and the every-day stresses of city domesticity as well as this place can. Charming little place, loved it.

Megalong is Gundungurra language for âValley under the Rockâ Euroka is Gundungurra language for âA spirit which lived in the sunâ The last Aboriginals to live in Megalong Valley were from the Gundungurra tribe.
The first record of a European coming to the Megalong Valley was of Thomas Jones, a natural history specimen collector in 1818. The first survey of any land within the Megalong area was made in 1838 when surveyor W. H. Davidson marked off 640 acres. The original grant was to George Aspinall and was claimed to be known as "Megalong Station" and also "Medlow Station", which was later incorporated into the "Euroka" property. Euroka has an historic significance at the Local level as the oldest grazing land in the Megalong and it still retains its original boundaries from the 1830s. It is thought to be the oldest cleared area in the valley
In 1884, Premier Stuart ordered the work of finding a horse track from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves to be undertaken. This work was successfully accomplished, trees felled and mile pegs set. Parliament granted ÂŁ2,500 to create a six foot wide track, which after completion was maintained by just two men it became known as the "six foot track" it starts at Explorers Tree, Katoomba and finishes at Jenolan Caves, part of which runs through Euroka today.
Very little of the original Homestead remains today. In 1905 there was a great bushfire that hit Megalong Valley most of the houses in the valley were lost. After the fire a little Catholic Church that had been erected near the Megalong Creek was moved and the small weatherboard church rebuilt and stands today at the Entrance to Euroka (St Josephs). Euroka, the Homestead and Cottage on 430 beautiful grazing acres is as it has been since 1838.
