Située sur une route de campagne, cette jolie grange indépendante située dans l’enceinte de la maison des propriétaires a été convertie avec amour et conserve de nombreuses caractéristiques et poutres d’origine. Célèbre d'excellentes vues sur la campagne environnante et de superbes promenades au départ de la porte, avec de nombreux sentiers de randonnée locaux, le Old Byre constitue un pied-à-terre idéal pour visiter toutes les attractions du Peak District, notamment Chatsworth House, Alton Towers (à seulement 10 minutes), Haddon Hall, Carsington Water, le chemin de fer à vapeur de Cheddleton, le lac Rudyard et le réservoir Meerbook, pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns. Magasinez 2½ miles et pub 1 mile.

Everything we needed for a short break in the Peak District. Beautiful property, with stunning views and everything that we needed for our family break. Well equipped kitchen, good shower, nice and cosy lounge with wood burner, very friendly hosts. Great location for walking and climbing.

It's location is stunning, and access to walking trails and interesting places to visit close by. The owners are delightful and helpful, very unobtrusive but available should one need anything. We're a family of 4 with two young boys (7 and 4) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at The Old Byre in August. We fount the cottage to be well equipped and spotlessly clean which was a welcome touch in these pandemic times. The owners were very kind and welcoming, and made us feel at home from the start. The cottage is at the top of a hill with very nice views and perfectly positioned to enjoy the sunset. Great place to stay and definitely recommended! This cottage is fine if the weather is fine. Unfortunately the weather was awful raining almost very day, with cool temperatures. Nothing the owners could do about that but it meant the magnificent view from the cottage was obscured more often than not by low cloud.

Cosy and convenient

We stayed here for a week during May. 2 adults and 2 children with a dog. The cottage was clean and welcoming on our arrival, complete with a plate of shortbread! Just the right size for us and convenient for all the sights of the Peak District. Everything we needed was available and our hosts were lovely. Thank you!
