We arrived via taxi that the hosts had arranged - no problems whatsoever. Upon arrival we were told that the accommodations we reserved suffered a mechanical problem and were promptly shown another location that met all our needs. The host, Frederica, was very helpful in making our stay in Rome special with some great restuarant suggestions.
The apartment worked for our needs, but is smaller than it looks online, and despite being in a historic building it is a sterile and overpriced IMO. The kitchen is very small and and not suitable if you plan to cook real meals. Our host was lovely and communication easy with fast response times.
This property was the perfect start to our Mediterranean vacation. It was in the best area for the sights and food in Rome. The check-in process was easy and the staff were wonderful to work with. Would rent again for sure.
Side note: there are steps which is hard with a lot of luggage, but we made it work fine.
Can't say enough about this property and the people who manage it. Federica Mary and Laura all ensured that our stay was outstanding. The neighborhood is great for walking, shopping or just people watching. Everything you need is a short walk away, even most of the historic sights.
Federica went out of her way to help us with the local Caribinieri to file a report on a theft we had at the Roma Termini station. The officers at the station had no interest in helping us. But when Federica called the local precinct directly for us and paved the way for success we were very pleased.
We would definitely stay here again.

Some things to like but some serious disappointments
We wanted to love this place entirely but, alas, it fell short. I am reluctant to leave a negative review primarily because the property managers - Your Suite Rome - were so helpful and made ideal tour arrangements for us while we were in Rome. (thank you Pamela and Frederica). However, the property itself disappointed. The location is ideal and the apartment is roomy and, when it was newly remodeled and furnished, it was probably very stylish and comfortable. But now, the entire property is shabby. The dining furniture is broken and rickety. The living room couch is shabby and worn out - the cushions would not stay in place because they are so warped from use. The room darkening drapes were entirely missing making the bedrooms too light to sleep in comfortably. The mattress pads are all thin and worn. The sheets, duvets and towels had stains. The kitchen area was not clean when we arrived - the microwave was dirty and we found used chewing gum on a shelf above the refrigerator. The shower was clogged so it did not drain properly (the management company did address this promptly). The master bathroom had a persistent musty, moldy odor and the dryer did not work. I'm confident that the management team would have addressed any/all of these issues had we called it to their attention during our stay; however, we were unwilling to have our private space so completely invaded during our stay. I did discuss with them the problems when we were checking out and they were concerned that we had not brought it to their attention sooner but, again, how much work should we have to endure while we are paying to stay in the apartment on our family vacation? I hope that our discussions with the management team along with this review will bring about some changes... this apartment could be awesome.
We could not have chosen a better place to stay while in Rome. From check in to departure, the staff in the office could not have been more accommodating and helpful. We were 2 couples and had plenty of space to spread out and relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing.
The apartment was a perfect location being very centrally located for walking to many of the sights and was beautifully decorated. Everything youâd want or need during your stay was there. The air conditioning was a real bonus. The beds were very comfortable and lots of towels were provided as well as soap, shampoo and some kitchen basics - coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, oil etc. There was a grocery store just around the corner and restaurants just steps away.
We stayed in the Superior Suite with two bedrooms and two baths and shared with another couple. The apartment is lovely, clean, and comfortable. The staff was extremely professional and helpful whenever we had a problem. I would not hesitate to stay again. One thing to be noted is that, like many Italian apartments, an apartment on the first floor is actually what Americans consider the second floor. The apartment is accessed by a small spiral staircase which we had no problem with especially since the staff helped with our luggage. Also, a very nice neighborhood near the Piazza Farnese.
Seriously, you can stop looking right now -- this is the perfect apartment in Rome. Spacious, lovely furnishings, fully equipped -- why would anyone stay in a hotel?? We were two couples on our second visit to Rome, and we loved everything about Grand Suite Monserrato. The location is excellent -- walking distance to everything, safe at night, lovely during the day. The apartment is right over a popular, chic restaurant, Pierluigi on Piazza Ricci, and the most amazing thing is when you swing shut the old, heavy, beautiful wood windows, you cannot hear a sound! We kept the windows open to hear the lovely, muted sounds of Italians eating, drinking, and enjoying life at this elegant restaurant -- and closed them when we were ready to go to bed, and we were astonished at the resulting silence. I want windows like that in MY house! And the hosts are better than any concierge at a 5-star hotel. Alessandro was immediately responsive and helpful by email throughout the booking process, and the lovely Pamela welcomed us and helped us with everything we needed, including going to the restaurant several blocks away to retrieve our forgotten credit card after we'd left Rome. I would stay at GSM again and again, and I wish I could go back there tomorrow!
This apatment is amazing! We stayed for four nights and could walk Rome all over because of its great location. Near all main attractions, even the Vatican. Very safe neighbourhood. Two very nice bedrooms, comfy double beds, free wifi. Lots of towels and everything you need for your stay. Grocery store nearby. Pamela great hostess!!
We are a family of 5 staying at the Grand Suite Monserratto - This is a wonderful appartment - very spacious, beautiful decor, lovely comfortable beds and 2 great showers. The appartment is close to all the sites and Pamela was a great host - telling us some great places to eat and where to buy tickets to avoid long queues. We stayed 4 nights but would love to have stayed longer.
I spent hours looking on vrbo for an apartment in Rome. I finally booked this one and we just returned from our trip. The location was perfect, safe and central to all attractions. The owners are very professional and extremely helpful. We were greeted at the apt. by Pamela who showed us around the apartment and give us some really good tips for sightseeing and avoiding long lines. She even scheduled a private taxi to take us back to the airport. She was better than a 5 start hotel concierge service. Thank you so much to you and Alessandro for the special experience. The apartment was perfect and we felt at home. I highly recommend this vrbo and hope to visit again. Ciao!
This apartment was my introduction to Rome and to Italy itself. Upon arrival, I immediately felt at home. Alessandro gave my friends and I a tour of the place and let us know that he was available whenever we needed him.
The apartment was so cozy, clean, and very well maintained. I felt like I actually lived there. I recommend this apartment or any others owned by Alessandro. He will definitely make you feel welcome.
I also would recommend dining at the restaurant right below the apartments - Pierluigi. Amazing dining experience!
A lovely apartment well located in Rome perfect for seeing the whole city. The apartment is very comfortable and cozy, with everything you need for your stay. I stayed for a weekend with some friends and found it a charming apartment in a great location. Our host Alessandro was very welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. He provided savvy advice on dining, places to go, and local culinary specialties. Highly recommend this apartment for a Roman holiday!
Thank you for a wonderful stay in Rome Alessandro. You are a great host and were so easy to communicate with by email and in person!
My family of 4 really enjoyed the Grand Suite apartment. The air conditioning in the bedroom and the two additional fans kept the apartment very comfortable. We were so pleased at how well equipped, comfortable, and quiet the apartment was, how safe we felt, and how "at home" we felt. Thank you so much!
Unfortunately we only had a few nights in Rome. Upon our arrival Alessandro met us and gave GREAT recommendations. We had to squeeze in a lot in a short time so he helped us put everything in perspective all the way down to the BEST restaurants! (Baffetto"s) is a MUST for pizza! The location of the apartment was perfect & close to everything. The apartment was clean and well stocked. The only complaint was that there was only A/C in the master bedroom. Alessandro explained it was because the building was super old and they wouldn't allow additional units. We keeps the curtains closed in the day and had the fan blowing to help. Ended up working out fine. We would stay at this property again.
This apartment suited me perfectly. Sleeps 5 comfortably and the accomodations are excellent. the location is perfect and central to pretty much everything you would want to see in Rome, to include the Vatican which is a 10 minute walk away.
Our apartment manager, Alessandro, was extremely helpful and considerate when planning our trip.
Nothing but postive things to say about the apartment.
We were so happy to have found this apartment in Old Rome.
The apt. description is very accurate. It was very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and idaelly located. There are a many restaurants and a good supermarket nearby for self-catering. The owner Alessandro is very pleasant and extremely helpfull.
I would definitely try to book this apartment again on a return trip to Rome and have recommended it to friends that travel to Rome. Alessandro and the apartment were perfect, couldn't have asked for a better experience.
We often remember our seven days in Rome.It was everything the listing promised :
comfortable, quiet, stylish and the most important ideally located.
The property was clean and well appointed. The owner Alessandro was extremely helpful.
We would recommend this place to any couple.
